It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Johnny Cobb.
The Cobb family shared the news publicly on Monday.
Johnny's voice became very familiar to "Into The Parabnormal" listeners over the past seven years as the man who sang the vocals on our two theme songs.
After releasing an original song about the Calvin Parker case that we played on the show during an interview with Calvin in 2019, Jeremy and Johnny became great friends.
"I was looking for a fresh sound for the program. I floated him an idea one day of making a theme song, and he loved it. Johnny called Jerry (McCoy) and about a week later, we had our first theme song," Jeremy said.
It was released to the audience on our November 30, 2019 show.
Later, the duo graced us with a second theme song that debuted on July 18, 2020.
Johnny Cobb and Jerry McCoy composed, produced and performed several more songs about famous UFO cases over the years, releasing their final composition in 2024 featuring a narration from Jeremy.
They asked Jeremy to offer the songs for listeners to download and an album was released in 2022.
"Cobb & McCoy: Taken On A UFO" is available for purchase in our store. Money from all sales will be sent to the family.
Johnny was more than the man behind our original theme music. He became family.
"Whether Johnny called me or I called Johnny, we made it a routine to check in on each other. We'd talk about life, and our passions of radio and music," Scott said.
One day, Johnny informed me that his health was declining. Our conversations suddenly meant more. We talked a few more times before doing so became difficult.
"I was heartbroken to learn that for my dear friend, Johnny Cobb, his days were numbered."
Now I take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain.
We send our condolences to Johnny's sister, Paula, his partner in music Jerry McCoy, and everyone who has been impacted by his music and friendship.
