0:00It's March 25, I'm Cory with the story. This is Vancouver News today, driven by AI. A 33-year-old man from Richmond Hill faces impaired driving charges after a highway crash where he ditched his vehicle and ran into the woods. The incident happened around 1am on Monday on Highway 400, Southbound near 12-mile Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township, when the car veered off the road and smashed into a guardrail. Gracebridge police arrived quickly and called in the OPP emergency response team to comb the area, eventually locating the driver hiding nearby and, taking him into custody without further issues. He's now hit with charges including operating while impaired, driving over the legal alcohol limit, public mischief, and failing to remain at the scene of the accident. Authorities expect him in court soon, reminding everyone that fling a crash only makes things worse for drivers who get behind the wheel impaired.
