Illegal Worker Busted at UK Restaurant

He'd snuck into the UK on a lorry back in February 2024 and had no right to work here. They caught him clearing tables and greeting customers for about three hours a day, from 3 pm to 6 pm, all without pay, just the occasional meal. The spot got slapped with the 40,000 pound civil penalty in August, but the company, Lebella Turino Limited, hasn't coughed up the cash yet. It's gone to debt collectors. Officials met seven staffers during the raid, and this one dude stood out in his all-black uniform, blending right in. The owners are pointing fingers. Original license holder, Renato Bakalari, claimed he sold the place three months earlier to Eli Vaca in London. Vaca said he didn't know about the worker, blamed the unnamed manager for hiring, and hung up when pressed for details. The worker himself said Bakalari hired him just a week prior.
