Ice Alaska Extends Run, Easter Egg Hunt Planned

Isolaska, the world ice art championships, up in Fairbanks, Alaska, just extended its run into early April thanks to one of the coldest winters on. Record. That deep freeze kept the massive ice sculptures rock solid, turning a short event into a longer showcase of frozen artistry. This marks a first for the organizers. They're keeping the entire park open, including the kids area, something they've never pulled off before. Last year, they only reopened a protected forest section during a warm spell, but this time, the chill made it all possible. The extreme cold did cut down on visitors, though, as folks stayed bundled inside. Still, Isolaska's team wanted to give everyone a better shot at seeing the stunning works before they melt away. Now they're open through April 5th, with a special Easter egg hunt plan for 3pm on that final Sunday. It's a fun cap to the season, as spring starts creeping in. After that, teardown kicks off, but they're short on volunteers to help break it all down.
