00Your opinion really matters. Hi, I'm Dave. Welcome to Walking Is Fitness. A daily 10-minute podcast designed to provide you with a little added motivation to get out the door, take the walk, and build a life-changing walking habit. Today's 10-minute walk starts right after this. I'm not even sure I'm allowed to say this. I don't think of it as my daily health drink. I now think of it as my daily fountain of youth drink. I've been enjoying AG1 for three months, and one of the things I'm feeling is energy in the afternoon, which is usually my slump time of the day. I don't know about you, but more energy makes me feel younger. The superfoods and B vitamins and AG1 provide nutritional support to help you to stay steady and consistent. Daily energy support to keep you moving through the spring. Bust out of your winter slump and reset for the season ahead.

02Prioritizing your health doesn't have to be complicated, and AG1 can make a meaningful difference in how you feel. AG1, it's a super easy habit to build. One scoop in eight ounces of water each morning. Go to drinkag1.com slash walking pod to get an AG1 flavor sampler and a bottle of vitamin D3 plus K2 for free in your AG1 welcome kit with your first AG1 subscription order. Only while supplies last. That's drinkag1.com slash walking pod. So I've now had three months in a row where we've stayed within budget thanks to monarch. And you know what, one of the biggest threats to busting the budget is for me? It's actually extra cash, like a tax refund, because that can cause me to get sloppy with spending. Monarch is now keeping that from happening. Simplify your finances with monarch. Monarch is the all-in-one personal finance tool designed to make your life easier.

03It brings your entire financial life budgeting, accounts and investments, net worth and future planning together in one dashboard on your phone or laptop. Feel aware and in control of your finances, this tax season and get 50% off your monarch subscription with code fitness. Because the monarch dashboard is so easy to understand, check it off and then that real time awareness of what's happening with our money is helping me make better financial decisions. Achieve your financial goals for good with monarch. The all-in-one tool that makes money management simple. Use code fitness and monarch.com for half off your first year. That's 50% off at monarch.com code fitness. The weather is finally warming back up. I was weather-wining two days ago. Didn't mention it yesterday. Probably would have been appropriate talking about opening day. It doesn't feel like opening day because it was cold, it was windy, it was cloudy.

07But I didn't. I refrained from wining about the weather. Today the temperature is starting to warm back up. It's still chilly, but it's that comfortable chilly. It is time for the annual walkingness fitness survey. This is important because it helps me to understand what really matters to you regarding the podcast. What you like, what you don't like, so that I can make adjustments or not make adjustments. There might be things that I'm thinking, maybe I should move away from this. But you tell me, oh no, no. Keep doing that. Conversely, there may be things that I think are just amazing. And you're like, no, you can stop doing that. The survey is 10 questions long. Six of those questions are multiple choice.

07Four are open-ended. It'll probably take three-ish minutes, depending on how much time you want to spend. Contemplating, marinating, and answer before giving it. And so you know what you're getting yourself into, and there's a link in the show notes for this episode for the survey. So you know what you're getting yourself into. I'm going to read through all 10 questions and then briefly explain the purpose of the question. So you're armed with all the knowledge you need to successfully complete the survey. All right, first question is how long have you been listening to the podcast? And there are multiple options, less than a month, so you're a brand new listener. You started at the first of the year, so you're a new listener, but not brand new.

07You started listening at some point last year, and then any time before last year, the best of your ability, would be, I've been listening for a long time. And here's the thing, I understand that most of us don't remember when we started listening to a podcast. If you ask me the same question about some of the podcasts that I listen to, I'm like, I don't know. Last year maybe, that's good enough. To the best of your ability, to the best of your recollection. I would think though that if you just started listening this month, within the past month, that would be fresh. And maybe around the first of the year, that would be fresh, but beyond that, you make your best guess. Question number two, how often do you listen? Do you listen every day? Do you listen several times a week? Do you listen a couple times a week? Do you listen once a week? Do you listen several times a month?

07Do you listen very inconsistently? Or is there some other listening pattern that you have when it comes to this podcast? Again, I understand that this is going to vary this week. You listen every day. Last week, it was a couple times. A week before that, you didn't listen at all. Pick the answer that best represents your usual listening habits. Number three, what are you doing while you're listening? My assumption, when I started the podcast, and even now, as I'm recording the podcast, my assumption is that you're listening as you're walking. But I know that that's not always the case. So what are you doing while you're listening? Are you walking? Are you driving? Are you doing other stuff? Maybe a workout of some sort, strength training, workout, whatever? Maybe you're doing chores around the house?

07So that would be other stuff. Are you sitting? Every now and then, I will listen to a podcast, sitting in my brown leather chair, not walking, not doing other stuff, just listening. And so I understand that that's an option. And then, of course, I recognize that these don't cover all the possible options. So there's a choice where you can say other than if you want to list what the other option is. All right? That's question three. So the first three questions, multiple choice. The next two questions are open-ended. And these are important questions. Number four, what would you like to hear more of? Now, this could be something that you're already hearing in the podcast, but you want more of it? Or maybe it's something that you have not heard in the podcast, and you would like me to start doing that. So that would be included in what would you like to hear more of? That's question four.

07Question five, just the opposite. What would you like to hear less of in the podcast? Again, this could be something that you hear in the podcast, and you're done with it, you're over it. In fact, it might even cause you to turn the podcast off or not listen. Or it could be something that I'm not doing, and you hope that I don't start doing. Maybe there are things in other podcasts that you kind of over and you're glad that walking as fitness doesn't do that. And you're hopeful that I never do, or you could include that. What do you want to hear less of? Question number six, multiple choice. Do you watch the walking as fitness YouTube videos? Yes, no. And again, I understand that the range here could be, I watch all of them too. I've watched one. If you watched one two years ago, and you haven't returned, I would say no. But if you watch them every now and then, then yes would be a good answer.

09Number seven, are you a member of the walking friends community? Yes or no? Number eight, do you get the weekly walking as fitness email? Comes out on Thursday mornings? Yes or no? And you don't necessarily have to read it. Just do you get it and you haven't said, nope, I don't want it anymore. Yes or no? And then the last two questions are open ended. Number nine, how has the podcast helped you? And this really is the heart of walking as fitness. I enjoy doing this. I love coming out here, walking, talking to you, thinking before I even press record, I'm going to say what topics might be of interest to me, to you. I love the whole thing of walking as fitness. But ultimately, this podcast is designed to help you.

10And so the question actually starts with, has the podcast helped you? No, that's your answer. If the answer is yes, then there's a box for you to... If you would care too, let me know how the podcast has helped you. So that's number nine. And then number 10, I don't want you to overthink this question. This is one that if you're wired like me, you go, hmm, let me think about that. Let me ponder that. Let me marinate on that. And it might even become overwhelming. I don't want you to overthink it. Don't overthink it. There's not a right answer or a wrong answer. What three words would you use to describe the podcast, walking as fitness to someone else? Might be someone you know? Might be a stranger. Might be someone sitting next to you on an airplane. They say, hey, what are you listening to?

10Listening to the podcast. Well, what's it about? What three words would you use to describe walking as fitness, the podcast? Again, don't overthink it. So that's the survey. A few minutes. It's probably all it'll take. Got a link in the show notes. You can tap that link and take the survey. And I have one more request. One more request. If you're listening to walking as fitness and Apple podcasts, would you consider leaving a five star rating? Simply go to the walking as fitness page and Apple podcasts scroll down. You see five stars. They're outlines. Tap the star to the right. All five fill in. That's it. That's all you need to do to leave a five star rating. And then would you also consider leaving a review? You're going a little bit further. It says writer review. Tap that. And you can leave a review. The most recent review was a couple of months ago.

10Now, I know this doesn't matter to everybody. But it's something that I look at when I'm considering listening to a podcast. I look at how many ratings it has. And I look at when was the most recent review? Because if the review was a long time ago, what that tells me is, maybe this podcast just isn't doing it anymore. Isn't helping people anymore. And if it's a review that was left within the last week or two, it's like, okay. The podcast is still bringing value. It's worth checking out. I know. Not everybody looks out at that way. But I do. And I'm sure others do as well. And the most recent review for this podcast was a couple of months ago. So it'd be really great to have a couple of newer reviews. So would you consider doing that as well? Thanks for listening. Appreciate you. I'm back tomorrow in the meantime. I hope you have an amazing day. And Doug, there's nowhere I wouldn't go to help someone customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual.

14Even if it means sitting front row at a comedy show. Hey, everyone, check out this guy and his bird. What is this, your first date? Oh, no. We help people customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual together. We're married. Me too, a human, him to a bird. Yeah, the bird looks out of your league anyways.
