Right now I'm currently worried about doing too many things Today I am I'm on break right now as I'm recording this and I recently changed the names of the podcast, which I'm sure you're aware of by now and I'm like I want it. I wanted to spend some time not too much time but sometime erasing the money lab brand from the internet and sort of just going all in on my personal brand name on my personal name on my God-given, you know, government name God-given. No government name and In the process of doing that I I'm like, oh no, am I am I Am I doing too much

Stuff is like, what's your goal? Why are you why are you even doing this not not critically? She was asking sort of as like a Devil's avocado or she's like, why are you doing this and I said I'll be honest the Reason I'm the reason honey. I'm even focused on this or I shouldn't say focus the reason I'm even attempting this is because I just Want to see the podcast grow. I can't help it. I know I know that I'm doing this mainly for myself I am getting my steps. I am getting my I'm getting mental clarity in my business. Those are great but I just can't I Just can't Do this without seeing some type of progress. You know and I Can't help that. That's just the way I am built. I don't know what to say about that Now I don't want to do too much, but I just want to do something just a little something to

Kick the gears in motion to get it to do what it's supposed to do because it goes against Everything that I've been saying for a while, which is like hey be consistent Published consistently people have given me shit because I've quit so many projects and I'm like well Okay, I've been doing this project recording this podcast Consistently for two straight years now. That's not that long You know, I didn't I understand that there's a month many more years ago, but I've seen no growth zero So I'm like, okay, there's a there's something that needs To just be slightly altered something slightly changed and so for me it was like okay I'm going to change the name of the podcast. That's an easy one right like let's do that one Took me some time to figure out but figured it out fairly quickly Right made the change it wouldn't less than a day no big deal right podcast art didn't take me long at all

Everything about this show is pretty much the same And then you know earlier this year or earlier in 2025 I started to Create some sort of tweet schedule I started using a program and I started turning a lot of what I've talked about here into text into tweets and that Really doesn't take that much time. It's pretty easy to do and I'm not going overboard with it But you know, it has helped it has that it has helped the podcast a bit It's helped more people to discover it outside of the Spotify and in you know Apple podcast ecosystem But it's not crazy. It's not gangbusters and I don't expect it to be it's gonna take time to build that up And I really haven't figured out my stride. What is it that people want to hear me talk about? So I'm just trying a whole bunch of stuff But I'm getting sort of clear on what it is that I'm doing and

I'm adding more tasks to my plate now. They're very small task. Let's let's be honest. They're small But they're still tasks And then I was like okay, well if I'm in the you know, I'm on break I'm not working on streaming diversity, but damn I'm bored like You know vacation is hard for me. I've I've traveled a lot this year. I've had a lot of relaxing trips I've had a relaxing holiday season, which is which is I know that's not for everybody not everyone has a relaxing season as an adult, but for me super super easy, right? So I'm like I got to do something and I keep thinking well I I've started this brew cabin project up again this the the YouTube channel and I put out a really good video in October or I should say November and Why don't you do that?

I'm like, well That's not casual that's that's like an all-day thing and I you know, it's like a commitment So here I am with this With these things I have some university, which is my day job, which is the thing I talk about a lot on the show I Have brew cabin, which is my artistic project where we're not trying to make any money Really not even trying to grow the the point for that one is to make Great videos. I just like doing it Okay But what about this show and what about my personal brand? I want it again I wanted to erase money lab from the internet and so I was like well It's it's a Monday. I'm technically off of work. I Don't I don't you know I could I could brew but that's gonna again. I don't have all day

so What if I worked on this what if I Changed money lab.co To my personal name jiveneasy.com. What if I did that? Okay, so I do that and then I'm like well all right What if I started in a newsletter What if I started a newsletter? What what are we doing? And I'm like all right is that too many things now Is that and I had this conversation with Steph? Is that why why? And I'm thinking a lot about it. I am this is part of my thinking about it This is part of my getting clear on what's happening and The question is is like why do you even want to why do you even want to know? Why do you you're gonna send newsletters? You're gonna tweet. You're gonna do a podcast. Okay? You have nothing to sell what's the what's the end goal? And I'm like, you know what?

I don't know all I know is that I want to see that goddamn podcast grow. That's all I know this one I just want it to I just and I and I think I I think I have to accept and this is a really tough one It feels like kind of do she to say it But it like I have to accept that I have the capacity now to do all of these things the right way Whereas before I came from a place of desperation or a place of novelty And I was just always chasing the shiny object and I know a lot of you had emailed me because I was talking a lot about How I need a 100% focus on swimming diversity And guess what 2025 that's exactly what I did I focused All of my work brain effort all of my time spent at the computer was spent doing swim university and

I had a lot of work to do I had a lot of editing to do I had a lot of things to stop doing I had a lot of things to build and put in place and I had books to ship and I had I had Things that were there to do But my word of 2025 was simplify and I did just that I Don't have to ship books anymore would took up hours of my week doing Right, it was a focus I had to You know create Videos and write scripts and I had to do customer service and all of these things but over the course of the year as I stopped selling pool chemicals and I stopped doing these other things. I was able to say, okay here are the six core Parts of our business and I know I've mentioned parts in the show before but just sort of as a quick recap

We have six SOPs for our business They're not super tight or constantly updating them. That's sort of my job right now but those six are Articles or slash SEO that's fairly new We have social media, which is basically Reels and stories We have email marketing We have customer service We have app development and The six one is YouTube those are the six places that we Do things at now Because of all that because of that work of editing down the Essentials, I've been able to stick people in places. I've been able to say okay. Well, you know We were shipping books and that was a whole part of our customer service SOP

But we've been able to outsource that and we don't have to do that. We outsource that to a third party company We don't need to do that anymore That took a ton of hours out of my day. I don't need to do that. Okay great Not only did it take hours out of my day, but like I had to remember to buy packing materials and ordering books and You know Timing post office stuff getting labels like and again, none of this stuff is really difficult But it has a mental low to takes up mental space whether you like it or not and I got rid of all that customer service was something I had to spend hours a day doing I do not have to do that anymore Just those two outsource bits that I did it around August of 2025 freed me up

So I thought hell I'll put that towards email marketing or put that towards doing more social content and guess what? I did do that but I also Delegated a lot of those tasks to my brother who I had been under utilizing Okay So we're still doing all of those things all of those things are getting done in the business But Matt me I do not have to do them all I have to do is kind of monitor them and not even closely I just generally monitor you know And just kind of there right on there if you need me sort of thing Right and I'm and I'm constantly looking at our SOPs Looking at ways to improve it, but I'm not doing it For hours and hours a day So What I'm left with is a company That is Doing everything it's supposed to do

We're just we just happen to be in a uh our you know Christmas holiday break right as I'm recording this But the company does it has a team and people do their jobs and Things get made and things get sold and money is being You know collect it so It's also a seasonal business. So while that's all happening. It's not happening nearly as much now as it does in the spring and summer So I'm left with Just a lot of extra space in my day I Still work I will work on some university every single day, but I do not need at this at this point in time I do not need to sit in front of that computer and do deep work In fact, there's probably only A few things I can even think of in 2026 where I'm going to have to do that

But what I realize is that those are like short one-off projects that I can do When I need to do them But it's not an ongoing thing so the point I'm making here is that I have a lot of extra hours In if we're looking at it throughout an entire week and guess what last year I did a lot of traveling this year. I don't want to do that this year I kind of want to get locked in to my health and fitness goals for the first half of the year and Because what's interesting about Locking into that is I'm saying no to a lot of travel I'm saying no to a lot of outings This this first half of the year and I need something you can't I can't just be Uh Board I can't just walk all day, right? So I have to occupy the hours with something and it's not so it can't swim university Doesn't require that many hours point is

I'm like Well, what about brew cabin in swimming or or my personal brand Is it now okay to do those things? And I thought about brew cabin a lot because I'm like okay Well that one makes sense because that is like My hobby that is the thing I do To relax and I do that on the weekends and I just happen to be the type of Home brewer who also likes making videos. So if you're thinking how does this compare to somebody else? Well, hey if you are into playing video games It's that time I am not into video games But I bet the people who are spend a ton of hours playing video games Just as just as downtime to relax I don't do that. I don't really watch TV either like I may watch a movie here and there But I'm not like binging shows or anything. I'm very very picky when it comes to what I watch on TV

And it's just because I I like doing stuff and none of the stuff I do is labor intensive or hard I just I just like doing it and I get I'm not I'm I'm not a father. I don't have Like a bunch of dogs to walk all the time. I don't have a bunch of shit to take care of like I have a pretty privileged chill existence right now I know that's not always going to be the case, but right now it's it is the case and so I'm like and I'm sitting here Trying not to add too many things to my plate So So this idea of starting Uh, I'm not even gonna call it a newsletter, but to create is to send emails To people who listen to the show or who are a fan of me I'm just like that's not I'm not trying to create a business from it. I'm not trying to create products

I'm not trying to create sales pages and and have my time booked up I'm not doing that. I'm doing all of this on my own time Why am I even sending emails? Why would I even pay for a service to send emails? And it's like I just want to see the goddamn podcast grow I just and I just want to be able to share and and create I just want to be able to create I just want to make things I just want it. That's my hobby I I'm actively, you know, I took all of 2025 fighting that I Still brewed beer. I mean, I didn't brew beer in 2025 But before that even though I wasn't doing the brew cabin YouTube channel I still brewing beer. I was still doing my hobby. Here's the thing I was trying to make and I think this is the the crux of all of it Swim university and when we talk about focus swim university is the thing that makes money That is the business Okay, I'm trying to stick to that

brew cabin is not a business I'm not trying to run a website. I'm not trying to take advertisers I'm not trying to sell products or courses or anything anything like that I just want to make cool videos and for me that is the equivalent of somebody who's interested in Relaxing and playing video games my video game Is a doby premiere That's what I like to do in fact as a kid A kind of was my video game. I used to make movies if you've ever heard of the program 3d movie maker I spent more time on that program than Any other program in my life God damn that I spend so much time at the computer making stupid videos This is what I want to do And I and it not making money is perfect But this podcast

Is a weird spot because technically this podcast Is a way for me to hit my health and fitness goals which I appreciate it helps me to have mental clarity in my business Which I also also love but for some reason I need to see it grow and Everyone is telling me Well Podcasts really don't grow as just podcasts. There needs to be some other outside factor whether that's word of mouth or Social media or email or whatever and so earlier this year. I thought okay. Well, I'll do I'll get back into doing Twitter Okay, it's kind of easy. Whatever Helps me to come up with new ideas It's good for the podcast doesn't take me that much time great Well, what about email? What about the website? Is that a hobby or is that a business?

And honestly I don't know the answer to that I could tell you it's not a business because I don't make any money on this podcast And I don't make any money on the website and I don't make any money Tweeting or or publish in content around this topic. I don't have any sponsors I have nothing to sell. I'm not even selling my time Right, I'm not even being a consultant But I guess a part of me is thinking well If one day for whatever reason there could be many reasons You get out of the pool business Whether that's by selling the company or just outsourcing yourself out of a job, which is very possible or I don't know just I don't need to do it anymore. So I just let it kind of coast Either way, what are you gonna do? You you now have all day You got to do something and it's like I kind of just

I'm being honest I just love making content. I didn't know that sounds lame Maybe to some I don't know, but I kind of just like it I'd like I if I spend any time watching anything Yes, I watch TV shows and I watch movies. I spend most of that time watching YouTube and I'm usually learning something Whether it's a home brewing video or a video about movies or a video about editing or a video about whatever I'm you or cooking mostly. I'll usually learn something I want to do that too. I'm doing it for pools, but I want to be a part of something I want to I want the videos that I make and the content that I create to be cool to be good And I think this podcast is In an individual level on an individual episode by episode basis. They're not that great

I can I could be honest with you It's just me walking around talking about a specific topic And while I think that could be helpful for some people I I understand that's not for everybody I understand you'll pick and choose your episodes But As a whole I think the podcast is cool. I think Wow, if I do this for five ten years Which honestly I could easily do that 365 episodes a year Holy shit dude I might have to I think of that. I may have to go back down to five Back down to five a week because that's just like that kind of feels insane to me And I'm just I'm just like I could totally do that. That's so easy to me because I love doing this

And I think what's cool about it is the fact that I did it It's huge. It's a huge accomplishment over many many years And I think the same is true for everything and I think I just As I say this right now I just have the capacity to do it And it doesn't feel like a lot because back when I was doing all three when I was working on street university money lab and brew cabin I was treating them all like businesses So money lab had its own course platform and it had sales pages and it had I had to put content out I had to do a newsletter every week. I had to tweet like I had to do a podcast. There was a lot there was a lot of things To do at the money lab brand and the same was true for brew cabin I was doing youtube videos. I was doing blog posts. I was Creating courses one course doing the sales page updating the sales page managing customers all of these things

I was doing all of it I didn't delegate any of it And at street university It was basically just me and Steph for a long time and then we've now got some help And I'm outsourcing better And so I'm basically Trying to get back into all three except I'm changing money lab to my to my name to my government name Which is fine, but I'm not going to do blog posts and I'm not going to do youtube But I'm not going to do a course and I'm not going to do a community I'm picking and choosing the things that I want To do From a creator perspective as opposed to a business perspective because if I were If I were trying to build a business out of my own personal brand You're I would not be focused on a podcast That's the truth I would be focused on youtube and social media and I would have

A course or a product or a consulting Arm or something I would it would be a whole damn thing And I can't do a whole damn thing I just can't I don't have the capacity to start an entirely I can't Stream university while it doesn't require a lot of A lot of my time It's 20 years old And I focused on making it a well-oiled machine and Made a lot of mistakes and eventually outsourced it but it took 20 years to get there Now I know that if I were to do I don't know Brew cabin if I were to turn that into like a legit business It would be Easier because I'd have help I know what products to make etc etc But it would be a lot of work like a ton of work And I think truthfully I'm not interested in making products

Outside of swim university. I think I have to be clear about that Which is like I do have products and I like working on those products And I like working on swim university but I don't need to also make products for for this brand and I don't need to make products For brew cabin all I want to do is make content and to me Content is kind of my wheelhouse content comes very easy to me Obviously, I'm doing this podcast daily. It's crazy And it's effortless to me. It's like I could do this all goddamn day Does it make for the greatest show in the world? No, but guess what? I think I could You know this show is this this show is what it is. I could Make it somewhat better And you know, it's like I know ways to make it better But that's what this show is and I'm just gonna leave it because this show has many other purposes but

The the the email if I start sending emails to the money lab list or the Now it will be my personal brand list I want to do something different with that. I want to try some stuff You know I don't there's no schedule. I don't have to pick a day and be like hey, this comes out every Sunday And I have and it's the same template over and over again. It's like no, I can do cool interesting shit And I can experiment with stuff And I can collect my thoughts and I don't have to create a blog post and have it you know look nice. I can just kind of And I can just have a conversation which is what I desperately crave is just a community of some kind And I think I am I think I have the capacity to handle those three things especially because I have done such a good job Thanks pedal in the back of

editing my life in 2025 so I'm like all right There I'm not I'm not stuck to any schedule in fact you so you know anyway, so I've said it all I've said Everything I wanted to say which is I am doing this And I'm still Afraid that I'm doing too many things I'm afraid that I'm I'm adding shit to my plate that does not need to be there However I am craving it now and it's not a shiny object syndrome because To be to be fair There's no money in this there's no money in brew cabin. There's no money in those in these projects. They're just They're just hobby projects kind of And so I don't know if anybody out there Feels this way or has this draw or

Or or or I don't know if you have an opinion about this, but here's the thing You can now email me at my new address It's mat at jivinesi.com and I apologize that my last name is very long an Italian but Get pretty close to that and google it and my website will start to come up because I just Create it today jivinesi.com which is essentially just a re-skin diversion of money lab and I'm actually going to be removing a lot of the content off of money lab Because it does not apply anymore. It is sort of dated. I don't need this archive out there anymore and I'm basically Thinking about turning money lab or I should say jivinesi.com into a giant hub

For just me and what I do And what I do is University this podcast and brew cabin videos And that's basically how I'm going to treat it. I don't think I'm going to write blog posts Although it is on WordPress, but I might just use it as a testing ground for web development And I can apply those things that I learn over at swim university Which would be helpful And jivinesi is just kind of my testing ground for that and I'm going to you. I'm going to start an email list and I'm not going to have a schedule I know I know me and I'm going to want to send stuff And that'll be fun. I think it'll be fun And I think if I need more help with episodes to fuel this podcast. I'll You know, I'll have loom videos that I can send. It'll be I think it'll be a good time And I'm not trying to do SEO. I'm not. I'm just trying to

Build a community of people who are interested in running lifestyle businesses businesses that are That have fun to good life without a ton of time and effort I don't know. That's it. That's what I got. So mad at jivinesi.com Shoot me an email and go to jivinesi.com and I'll talk to you next time
