I Know What Will Happen This Year! (3 minutes)

0:00Okay, I'm glad you're here. Let's get ready for Shabbos and Rosh Hashana. It's the last Shabbos of the year, which is really exciting. So, you know, Hebrew is so deep. God made the entire world out of the Hebrew letters. That's our mystical tradition. And what does that mean? He didn't hammer a dollard into a gimmel and make butterflies and applesauce and whatnot. Know the letters are wavelengths of light. They're divine energy. What's a higher energy source than light and what's a more powerful light than divine light? So, God shaped his light into the universe. That's what we mean when we say that God made the world out of the Hebrew letters. That's why we call it Lushen Hakodash, the Holy Tongue. Because the letters give us little windows into the fabric of reality. As Roshlomo said so beautifully, when the wind rustles through the trees, the sound that it makes is in Hebrew. So, let's look at the word Shana, which means year as in Rosh Hashana. But guess what? It's related to other Hebrew words which share the same root.

1:11And these two words are total opposites, which is what's so compelling. One means to repeat and the other means to change. You get it? Are you going to keep on doing what you've been doing up until now? Or are you going to change? The same new light which is coming into this world affords us the opportunity to do either because free choice is the essential element that the entire world is built on. Are we going to use it to copy ourselves to be an imitation of ourselves as the Kutskorebi talks about? Or are we going to flow with the newness and are we going to change using that exact same light and energy? Are we going to allow the newness to actually be new? Or are we going to just look at it as more of the same?

2:18And the amazing thing is God leaves that up to us. One time I was speaking on Rosh Hashana and I said something super bold. I said with total absolute confidence, I know what's going to happen this year. And I looked at the people's faces like, there's a mix of, who does this guy think he is to? Please tell me what's going to happen this year. And I said simply change. Change is going to happen. And so we have a choice. Is change going to happen to you? Or are you going to be the change? Am I going to be the change that transforms the world? Good shop, good shop.
