Hurley's Future Uncertain at Arizona State

Many will come from lower level programs moving up, but one big name stands out. Arizona State Head Coach Bobby Hurley, one of the highest paid in the game, likely won't return next season. Hurley is in the final year of his contract after 11 seasons with the Sun Devils, who sit at 16 wins and 14 losses this year. He's brought in nine of the programs top 10 highest rank recruits ever, and ranks as the second winning his coach in school history, with three NCAA tournament trips in 2018, 2019 and 2023. Fans and insiders see his talent for recruiting, but recent results have fallen short, with no tournament birth since 2023 and sub-5. 100 records in five of the last seven years, agents have anticipated this opening for about a year now. Arizona State avoids a $4.2 million buyout by simply letting the contract expire.
