Huntley's Prison Death: Brutal Attack Ends Convicted Killer's Life

Ian Huntley, the man convicted of murdering 10-year-old girls Holly Willes and Jessica Chapman back in 2002, has died after a brutal prison attack. He was serving a minimum 40-year sentence at Franklin Prison in County Durham when another inmate assaulted him with a metal pole last Thursday. Morning. Huntley suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Doctors kept him on life support through Friday, but brain tests showed no recovery, so it was turned off. I.e. passed away the next day. A Ministry of Justice spokesperson expressed sympathy for the victim's families, noting the lasting pain from the case. Police confirmed an inmate in his 50s was hurt in the incident and are still investigating. Huntley had drawn the girls from a barbecue in Sohom, killed them, and hid their bodies in a ditch about 12 miles away. His lies unraveled during detailed media interviews and the trial, leading to his conviction in 2003.
