Huntley Attacked in Prison, Suspect Arrested

On February 26, the 52-year-old was struck repeatedly over the head with a metal bar in the prison workshop, leaving him blind, and with severe brain damage. He's now on life support in the hospital, and doctors don't expect him to regain consciousness. The assault happened in the recycling area of H&P Franklin, and a man in his mid-40s was quickly detained by authorities. Reports point to murderer Anthony Russell as the suspect, who reportedly celebrated right after the incident. Durham police confirmed the arrest, but haven't named anyone publicly yet. Reactions have been strong, especially from Hutley's own daughter, Samantha Bryan, who made it clear she wants nothing to do with him. Inside the prison, Huntley was already under close watch because of his notoriety as a trial killer, which made him a target for other inmates. This isn't the first time someone's gone after him.
