00This is the weekend stakes preview on the horse racing radio network. Good night, Olive has the lead. Mary, quite contrary, trying to chase her down with an eighth of a mile to go and society is third back toward the inside. Good night, Olive, just over a sixteenth to go. Mary, quite contrary, still trying, still two lengths away. The champ, in front. Good night, Olive, chased all the way by Mary, quite contrary. Good night, Olive, to win the grade one Madison for I Rad or T junior in a successful season state view, one minute twenty three point one, two seconds. Now here's Bobby Newman and Bob the Stanovich. Good evening. Welcome to the weekend stakes preview here on the horse racing radio network, part of Tappet Trice Week all week long presented by Keemland sales Bobby Newman, Bob and the Stanovich. Big weekend of racing around the country coming up, especially with the racing tomorrow. Big days at Keemland,

00big day at San Anita, and a big day at Aqueduct Bob, a whole lot of Kentucky Derby qualifying points on the line. Yeah, this is going to be awesome, Bob. Good and ask for a better slate than this. One of the most exciting weekends on the racing calendar every year. So first things first, we have to hope that the weather at Keemland is better tomorrow than what it was today where they had a sloppy track for much of the day and even the turf course was less than firm. I think the weather is supposed to be a little bit better tomorrow than it is today and we've certainly like to see fast and firm conditions or as close to that as possible. So we'll start it off with the five bagger of graded stakes taking place tomorrow at Keemland, the first of which is race number seven. It's the grade three commonwealth. These are older horses going seven furlongs on the main track field of seven in this year's commonwealth Bob. And number seven, Saudi crown. We've always thought of them more as a routing type, but he is shortening up to seven furlongs and he's eight to five on the morning line. Yeah, also we should point out

03Bob before we start talking about these races. We have plenty of cross-centered horses and also the weather and Jamaican New York could be a little bit sketchy as well. So yeah, definitely check. Morning changes to see who's going to show up where and and and same thing with the with the weather. We'll see one horse I want to mention right off the bat. He could be in this race or he could be in the Carter handicap. That's the one BU, Reppoli stables, horse, Todd Pledge or John Velasquez works in New York. I imagine he's based in New York. I don't have any updates on where he's going to go. I think I read that he was going to be running in the Carter. Okay, interesting because and that would have been my guess too, just based on his location, but he did run a huge race off the shelf last year at Keenan coming from way far back over a course in distance

03and then he he's in fantastic form. So he'd be live and either race, he'd be in a really good New York bread named Doc Sullivan last time out in the toboggan. As far as deep closers go, we have one of the most exciting ones in horse racing in this race and it's the two horse crazy mason who kind of interestingly shows up here won the Carter last year with a huge move under Manny Franco. Really mixed it up with some top level spinners last year. I route Ortiz rides him for the second time in a row for Greg Sacco, one race since the cigar mile last December. You know, if there's enough pace in here to set up his kick, he's fantastic to watch. He just flies home. And then he get the New York bread, five horse national identity, Reeves Thoroughbreds, Danny Gargan, Joao Rosario. This horse is going for five in a row. He has beaten open company before an entry level allowance ad aqueduct. He's by Salamini out of an Indian

05Charlie mayor and he's got good tactical speed. He might have the best springer speed in the race and he's nine to two in the morning line. And then he gets Saudi crown who, like you said, has mostly played his trade around two turns, you know, on the front end. Flavian Pratt takes over, rides him for the first second time. He did break, break is made way back when in April of 2023 in his debut over the stress track going six for long. So he can sprint. I didn't think he's been really, really effective going along. And so that's why Brad Cox, when he does race him and he's a lightly racer. You know, he always has him prime to a carrier speed a long way. I'm not sure if seven for longs his game is his game. I'm sure he'll be around even monies eight to five in the morning line. I'm going to go with national identity. I think national identities are on a couple of races which beat Saudi crown. And I think he's just more of an extended distance sprinter. I'll take Rosario and

06Gargan, the five horse and the commonwealth. Yeah, I think it's between those two, the five and the seven. I just think Saudi crowns better than national identity. And maybe they're just looking to shorten Saudi crown up figuring that when he gets going a mile and a 16th mile and an eighth, he's kind of vulnerable against the top of the game. And maybe they figure there's a lot of good money in one turn races for the year. And maybe they'll try him there. Instead, I think Saudi crowns just too much for this field. I like him despite the short price in the commonwealth. Like him, but don't love him. Eight race on the card is the grade two Appalachian. These are three-year-old Phillies going a mile on the turf field of 11 here. Bob number nine sister Troy and usually wins. She ran second last time out as a three to five favorite five to two on the morning line to make amends tomorrow. Yeah, I think she was a victim of an overconfident ride that day. Regardless, we got to know a lot of these Phillies in Florida over the winter. It's a very, very deep renewal.

06You know, I know horse you like. It's the one horse spirit doll. More like it from her and the here comes the bride. A little bit one paste. Juan Machado takes over for Safi Joseph. Kind of interesting booking there. He's only written twice for Safi Joseph. But spirit dolls are really nice horse. And her damn finished second in the adjesse mine. The graded stakes race for two year olds on the turf. Phillies on the turf, you know, a few years back. So definitely has a lovely pedigree for a keenland. And drew the outside and a field of eight last time and drew the rail today's that might help her cause. The four is interesting as well. 12 to one of the morning line George Arnold and Axel conception to a flame. Good horse. Never run a bad race. Just missed an a stakes last year at Kentucky Downs had a very nice come back to the race is nice tune up for this in a quick time 133 and four over the Gulf Stream Park turf. 12 to one is a delightful price on her.

09And then you get the seven just a Lou. Who's one of a couple of a regally bred daughters of justified here. She's undefeated and she'll have to step up figure wise on what she's done, but she won the Jimmy Durantina last start at the end of the Del Mar meat. So very, very high quality Philly for Chad Brown Whisper Hill and Flavian Pratt. Then he got Lion Lake who was the beneficiary in in the here comes the bride under Tallah Gaffley on winning the race by a head over sister Troy and who let's face it was not aggressively written in the last 16th of a mile there and she's really gone kind of gone to the head of her class and the three-year-old Phillies on the turf up until the last 70 yards of the here comes the bride I read Ortiz takes over on sister Troy and for Mario Gutierrez no surprise there and Ortiz is five for six five for 16's last 16

10mounts for Brian Lynch. So you know we'll see what happens there, but I'm kind of interested that Tyler Gaffley oh obviously had a nice choice on this race and shows what may very well be the class of the field and that's the 10 imagination the lady a daughter of not this time out of a war front mayor broke the maiden that Kentucky downs one last year's a jasmine over over course and distance and and then went in the breeders cup juvenile Philly turf where she was six to one and had a trouble trip only got beat two and a half lengths. I think that if she's primed by Brennan Wall she does very well at Keenland that Wall Singaflion get a what I would consider a minor upset with the 10 imagination the lady. I think she has a big chance as well I think it's a very evenly matched field imagination the lady certainly looks like one of the ones to beat in this spot. I like spirit doll last time she ran and the here comes the bride and she didn't run badly but she wasn't you know a real factor in the end she got beat

11two and a half lengths which doesn't sound that bad but it never really looked like she was making a serious run at some of the other Philly's like lion lake sister Troy and and storms what lake but storms wake rather but not far behind them and I see I rad takes off her it makes sense to ride sister Troy and I think the outside trip kind of did her in she should be able to save ground from that inside post and the fact of the watch what Machado is aboard obviously he's not I rad or T's junior but you also get a much bigger price she's 15 to one on the morning line only five to two against sister Troy and last time out and I don't think she had the best trip I think she's capable of a lot better and just because of the price I'm gonna try her one more time number one spirit doll at a big number to win the grade two Appalachian ninth race tomorrow is the grade one Madison Philly's and mayors sprinting seven furlongs on the main track field of eight set to go in this year's Madison Bob morning line favorite is number five grand job yeah no lack of speed in

11here either bobby very very fast seven furlong race for Philly's and mayors you know eclatons fast you know of course we're both fans of sterling silver she might be in a little bit tough clico is a horse that should not be ignored Brendan Wallsch again Flavian Pratt rides for him they're five for 15 together in recent times she won the cattillion last year she got very good for race winning streak that started at Keenlyn on the beard course in which she beat a horse called Mazza yet who came back in one you know the victim of pace scenario in the breeders cup this staff you know there's so many breeders cup performances you can put a laden through from last year more than I ever remember and clico if ready to you know returns she's got a bunch of works all meadows one work at Keenlyn and Pratt rides are back one died in the wool closure we know is the four ragtime very professional race horse one

12or first two starts really got run down surprisingly by kill win in the test in her in her stakes and grade one debut then she came back and won the dog over seven furlongs at Churchill kind of an interesting run in the Raven run I think she just you know was given too much to do and then ran okay and in the in the Chalukie behind the Churchill downs freaks red the nor so another one one of two in here for Maught and she's got a chance junior Alvarado opting to ride her stable make ran job and John Velasquez so you know no problem there grand jobs has been a marvel you know she's a Philly or a mayor now five-year-old mayor by justify started her career in Ireland with Joseph O'Brien ran on the turf never won in the UK her last race was a promising effort on the synth track at Dundock and she's come over here and just been a monster I mean two huge

16wins at aqueduct and Churchill decent effort in the Royal Delta and really pretty awesome in the in the inside information the grade two on January 24th at Gulfstream there's a ton of speed I mean you know Safi Joseph intense run art is aster and mystic lake they're both fast praying had a career best over the stress track last year for Medina and Rosaria won the TCA the Thurbert Club of America race I think that grand job has an excellent opportunity she took back a little bit last time from the outside she likes to go to the front but I think if she can sit just off that she can stalk and pounce and win this edition of the Madison all right I was going to try a little bit of an upsetter here I saw all the same speed in this race that you see especially from grand job our disaster and mystic lake I think if you can somehow draw a line through the breeders cup Philly and Mayor Sprint for number seven praying last time and

19she was only 12 to one in a race that had Splendora and Hope Road and Vava in it and she just didn't run a step that day but her previous tries including the TCA of the the TCA in October of last year at Keenland were very very good and I think she gets a nice stalking trip in behind the speed brigade 20 to one is a ridiculous number on praying it's another odds play I think we're going to draw a line through that last race and I think she rebounds with a big effort maybe good enough to win the grade one Madison let's take a break when we come back more Keenland to discuss we'll also dive into that big aqueduct card this is the weekend stakes preview on the horse racing radio network. This is Tepet Trice Week presented by Keenland Sales on HRRN Dear racing fans we've been waiting for you we've been working prepping training putting together thrilling races new spaces favorite traditions and fresh

28races that it seems like these horses all won against each other you know it either every time they run or almost every time that they run the very tepid morning line favorite is number eight litigation he's won three of his last four starts yeah no fun to make a morning line for this race I mean it definitely is kind of a crap shoot a lot of very very talented in form horses one of those is the four horse yellow card he ships in from Santa Nina from Mike McCarthy Flavian Pratt really nice effort in the clockers corner last time big number as well interestingly bred a five year old horse by the warfront sire lost treasure out of a pulpit mayor I think it's just you know one of many with a chance ten to once by a fair reflection of the chance then he get Mondo gets buckets who's a horse you know unfortunately had the misfortune of running into usually wrong three

29times and wrote fairgrounds a true course specialist is usually wrong who's in this race and unfortunately for him and his connections left to overcome the twelve hole which is possible going five and a half furlongs on this turf course but that definitely makes his tax tougher but Mondo gets buckets of seven crisp block tile a gaffly own who rides him back after riding him in the power of fairgrounds last time he's getting closer to usually wrong so you know that shows me that he's gradually improved throughout the meat at fairgrounds and some eye popping works a bullet on March 20th of the fairgrounds and he made the track up here to Lexington and worked four and forty six and one on the main track so Mondo gets buckets is in really really good form the eight litigations an interesting horse high quality horse just in flying form a Gulfstream park awesome in the Gulfstream turf sprint which he flew home and then you know better that effort in the silks run five furlongs and 53

33and four you know obviously that's a quick turf course but that's a fast time very nice son of a twirling candy out of a storm cat mayor for lynching Gutierrez and then he get you know I mentioned usually wrong he's got to have a big chance he has speed but but obviously I feel like I'm guessing when I'm trying to choose the winner of this race but I'm going to go with the 11 Joe Shistie he had a huge winner at a turf way park two big stakes wins including a dominant effort on March 7th is one for two over this turf course seven for 18 lifetime pretty straight forward horse he just breaks and goes and on his day he's definitely good enough to beat this field and I'll take gate to one very square price on him all right I'm going to go with the horse you mentioned first number four yellow card I think there's enough pace in here that somebody can close and he's certainly as good as anyone else coming from off the pace he's mainly been a west coast runner but he's proven that he can win out of California in fact winning on the Churchill Downs turf in the past yellow

36card with Flavie and Prada board giant rider upgrade from basically everyone he's had for the last couple of years I think yellow card at 10 to 1 has a big big chance in the grade two shaker town featured event tomorrow at Keylin is the grade one 1.25 million dollar bluegrass stakes a points qualifier on the road of the Kentucky Derby three-year-olds going a mile and an eighth on the main track nine were entered in this race Bob we know that number two class president is already scratched that's going to affect the odds heavily in this race favoritism either going to be with number six further ado or the up and coming Reagan's honor yeah I don't really see much past them myself Bobby you know they look like they're several lengths faster than the rest of the horses in here obviously take note of the seven o'celi's also entered the wood memorial you know and I think Oteño is to the nine the interest and see where they turn up you'll find out the morning via equa bass or whatever

3980 W choose to use yeah disappointing lose class president you know he would have been you know it would have been cool to see if he could build on that rebel and he probably has you know would have had good Derby credentials hopefully we'll see him later in the year the four Reagan's honors is really interesting you know started off in a sprint under Ben Curtis who doesn't ride very often for Sheree de Beau went off at nine to two and you know kind of did what a route horse does I'll you know what entered a sprint got rolling late past a few horses definitely good introduction to the races ran a really big race to break the main January 17th underprat at fairgrounds and then parlay that effort into a big win honest what they say is a speed favoring track got you know February 19th under Jose Ortiz today's pilot big number that day good work over this race check March 28th and his chief opposition is obviously you know

40the likely favorite the six further ado who broke his maiden here last year by 20 and then he won the Kentucky jockey club at Churchill Downs beating universe and soldier in diplomat or who or above average some three-year-olds now and he split the Puma and cannelletto in the Tampa Derby the significant aspect of that it was how well the Puma ran in the Florida Derby definitely franking the form of the Tampa Derby working right along for Brad Cox and I think he had much of an excuse in the Tampa Bay Derby I thought he had a better trip than both the Puma and cannelletto and he was able to hold off one of them but not the other that day and I figured he was ready to go off that lay

44up all reports were that he was doing very very well I think he ran his race he just simply wasn't good enough to win but I think he's better than this field I just don't I don't want to take even money on him but I think further ado is the right horse in this spot I think he stalks the early pace and has more left down the stretch we'll see if further ado can get the job done in the grade one bluegrass shifting gears over to aqueduct four graded stakes tomorrow at the big A the first of which is the aforementioned Carter it's a grade two event for older horses sprinting seven furlongs on the main track goes as the sixth race on the card six were entered in the Carter Bob and the big name of course last year's champ Bookham Dano yeah the four BU again as I mentioned previously across center but likely to go in this spot if so you know he'd have a chance to pull it up said he's two for three over the race track and won the toboggan and then quince brew is also entered at laurel and I can see him opting

47for that spot for net allered and forest before his bites a boy so though he's got two seconds and two tries at aqueduct because this is a really tough compact field I mean point doom who's been kind of the king of laurel sprinting recently he's just a much better horse than he was when he was claimed last July at Penn National for 40,000 off of Jamie Ness a real credit to the Tim Chrysler stable they've improved him several lengths and he's won now four of his last six huge number in the general George really I catching effort breaks from the rail yeah he definitely he has a chance but boy he is he and tough you know reports are from Derek Ryan Tampa that Bookham Dano is absolutely ready to return and bigger than stronger than ever his regular pilot is now been cut free from the the binds of suspension Pucco Lopez will ride him I'm not sure if aqueducts his favorite race track but you

49know he might have excuses in those other in those other races he had a bad start for example in the cigar mile back in 2024 but yeah very well managed lovely to have him back and it'll be tough to beat him and then of course you get his chief opposition that's the undefeated five horse rated by merit a Florida bread who ran on the first four starts of his career from Mike Yates down at Gulfstream Park and just dominating Florida breads including Neo Equals who we've gotten knows pretty good horse over the last couple of years then he shows up here last October in the discovery and wins pretty comfortably all that being said he's five for five his numbers are good many Franco Chad Brown definitely has speed which could be you know valuable asset in here for sure you know this is his great at stake debut where as Bookham Dano is a regular and graded stakes in a very classy horse and I think that Bookham Dano

49can lay close enough under Paco and if he kicks in down the stretch I think it'll just be too much horse I'll take the two Bookham Dano yeah his good races are just better than this field can run I don't have anything negative say about these other runners I just don't think they're as good as Bookham Dano if he's ready to run and it sounds like he is ready to run even money on the morning line that's because rated by merit eight to five on the line I think three to five is more likely for Bookham Dano and we both think that he returns victorious in the Carter let's take another break when we come back we'll continue with the aqueduct card this is the weekend stakes preview on HRN remember the last time your family visited the forest it's a place of wonder and imagination for the whole family where stories come to life and it's closer than you think ready to plan your next visit make the forest part of your story today at a local park near you or find one at discover the forest dot org brought to you by the United States Forest Service and the

58it's mow down to go and early voting and it is mow down to go mow down to go one the rims in here is a two year old and he comes back to win today's 97th running of the wood memorial I miss the voice of John Embryale on the mic that was back in 2022 calling the grade two wood memorial mow down to go defeating early voting both of them would go on to be classic winners and they're during their three year old campaign mow down to go would win the bell month that year early voting would win the preteness that year this year's wood memorial the featured event tomorrow out at aqueduct welcome back weekend steaks preview here on h-r-r-n part of tappet trice week presented by keelin sales bobby newman bobna stanovich continuing on with the big aqueduct card tomorrow bob 10th race on the card is the grade three dista for the fillies and mayors going seven furlongs on the main track and former two year old champ immersive makes her twenty twenty six day view as the seven to five favorite

58yeah interesting entry there I thought for sure let's start from the rail with the one take the money honey and outstanding Maryland bread half percentage connections here Michael Moore twenty two percent and I guess his main man is Alicia Ruiz they win twenty seven percent together mister Ruiz of course embroiled in a in a very serious controversy of parks this week if you haven't read about that's quite interesting but we talk about a golden opportunity to win a grade three stakes race at aqueduct after you know being you know stuck in a situation like that's pretty interesting take the money honey always gets bet really heavily at home she's come here one time before only got beat of nose by Katherine wheel you know tactical speed from the rail you know definitely a lot of horse in here saying could be said of jody's Pratt because jody's Pratt's free for three at aqueduct and she's one for

59eleven elsewhere is the three pa colopas or hey a brave you needs a former versal didn't run and jump it it golf stream on January twenty fourth but like I said she's a different animal here she might need further than seven furlongs but she ran huge here last may beating sterling silver by three and my main squeeze by three quarters in the grade two ruffian so up you know she obviously has a chance with such a great affinity for the race track any get immersive and immersive of course was the two year old champion back in two thousand twenty four undefeated of course that year you know one for three last year very disappointing year last year you know you'd have to question whether she trained on or she's just difficult to train she doesn't doesn't appear very often working right along at basin park for Brad Cox over the winter many Franco her regular rider is back in the saddle and she won the spin away

00and sealed mud over seven furlongs as a two year old she might be you know just a nice seven furlong horse but at a short price off since September I'm gonna pose her and I'm gonna pose her with the five with the angels three to one in the morning line she was really good on March first here and from what I can tell being by Omaha Beach out of a pulpit mayor I think seven furlongs might be her optimal trip she's seven for nine with two seconds you can guarantee that she'll fire whether she's good enough you know you may question but I think she is I think she comes in off a career best I think she steps up on that to win this all right I'm also gonna try to beat the favorite in this spot I think number six hold your breath might be able to get out in front of this field and keep on going she did not do much running last time out at Laurel but her previous try which was her lone try on the main track at aqueduct may have been the best race in her career in the fed to be to be honest her race at aqueduct and her prior

00race to that at parks I think are both good enough to if not beat the to not beat the right there just I'm sorry to have not beat this field at least be right there with this field I think there's some speed in the race but I think she's the speed of the speed and she's better than what she showed last time out hold your breath for me to take them coast to coast in the grade three this staff 11th race at aqueduct is the grade three gazelle three-year-old Phillies going a mile and an eighth on the main track field of nine in this year's gazelle Bob and slight favorite on the morning line drawn inside Brad Cox trainee paradise yeah this field is kind of interesting a lot of it's first of all it's it's very competitive I don't know how good it is but there's very little two turn experience going a mile and eight in the grade three gazelle it'd be interesting to see who will handle the added ground paradise is a candidate to do so she's briefly bred she's out of that fantastic money smear Venetian Harbor by gun runner she was expensive

01and she was very good in the busher last time over this race track over a hair road good track yeah she definitely has a live chance five to two would probably be a fair price on her always runners interesting one start three to five cruised at Tampa who knows you know what she be but she's by gun runner out of a Malibu moon mayor she could be anything working right along for Chad Brown Dylan Davis picks up the man on the two always a runner they didn't get a horse that Amelia green trains that ran great in the ruthless last time you know beat interstate love song by a neck they were ten lengths clear the third big number by American Pharaoh out of a Bernhard Dini mayor you know mostly again platter trade either sprinting or going one turn miles the way she was beaten by dazzling Dame in the in the Busan is of concern I think amount of eight that might be a little bit too far for her

02and he gets slow car up who's a horse the non horse in here that certainly she get the distance but she's a you know made and you got beat eight in a quarter last time she's by medallion dooro out of a curl and mayor trained by saffy Joseph Javier Castellano Brad's you know she could definitely step up the nine for long side of help ought to help her but I don't know if it'll help her enough scratched out of the Ashland earlier today Bobby was the three Nikon daughter of Nyquist out of an awesome again mayor thinner second to paradise in that busher was brushed at the gate and really got going late I think is very good decision I think the Ashland you know came up very very tough and I think I may tour as gonna ride in the Derby on incredible and I think that he'll ride Nikon in the Kentucky oaks I think that she'll pull an upset here just because I think she's screaming out for the extra distance of the gazelle. All right I am going to go with the six pashmina in this spot to be honest I was

06not that impressed going into the Sunland Park oaks with the field other than the winter bottle of ruse who I thought was a cinch that day and it's probably only because the stewards were very generous that bottle of ruse actually may remain the winner of the Sunland Park oaks but she proved off that victory that she she's pretty good she came back in one again in her next start and Pashmina is one of the ones that she bothered when she could have been taken down at the top of the stretch Pashmina I think is improving with each and every start and I think it's seven to two she has a big big chance to win the gazelle tomorrow at aqueduct featured race at aqueduct tomorrow race 12 is the grade two wood memorial three-quarters of a million dollars a whole bunch of Kentucky Derby points on the line for the three-year-olds going a mile and an eight-thirteen were entered in this year's edition of the wood memorial Bob favorites drawn outside undefeated iron on her. Yeah Napoleon Solo from the rail he absolutely freaked last October in the

08Champagne when a half and 44 and one and just kept extending his advantage under Rosario you know to win a grade one in a second start came back to a tougher new all the fountain of youth on February 28th you know horses like commandment chief wallaby the very fast solitude dude were in there and you got it got off to a slow start now you put a line through that one Buckle Lopez rides in for the first time for Chad Summers will be interested to see what he does from the rail another horse that freaked over this race track over course and distance in the withers was the two talk to me Jimmy one by eleven I think it was a case that he didn't beat that much at all and even though he won going nine for longs that days by modernist out of a group he may or I don't see yet we can stay against some better horses and then he get of course the five Oceles cross center to the blue grass

09take note of where he where he ends up he's a decent horse and then you get the two horses on the outside which I think will take a lot of money I don't think butane will be eight to one of the morning line for Bob Baffer to won the race last year was Rodriguez and won it 2008 with Kangaroo he had a terrible trip in the Virginia Derby just a nightmare and actually kind of ran on a little bit at the end which was impressive my problem with him is I think he's more a seven for a long mile mile or type horse martine Garcia you know long time rider for Baffer and spots like this where you know he needs somebody capable that he can trust to show up takes them out on the outside I just think nine for longs plays against him and I got to go with 13 iron honor by night quest out of a blame mayor you know one over this racetrack first time out and won the Gotham and you know was had kind of an unpleasant trip in the

11Gotham poor start stuff like that I just think he's it's it's a very very tough race to pick and you know I don't think the routine will affect his chance too much yeah it's Franco and Brown I think it's he's in the right spot at the right time I think you'll win the Wood Memorial all right I don't have anything negative say about him either I just think it's a very evenly matched addition of the Wood Memorial I'm a little bit intrigued with number ten red zone runner who first four starts of his career don't look like you know they were even close to being good enough to compete in a race like this and then he moved to a new trainer who wins about eighteen percent of the time named Hugo Padilla and he showed with a showed up with a fifteen length victory albeit on a sloppy track in a race at parks obviously that's a listed race at parks on a wet track not a graded stakes race one of the top three-year-old races in the

11country at aqueduct on a track that well we just don't know what it's going to be like tomorrow but I I'm willing to overlook his first four starts and say maybe he's just a better horse now than he was then and his last race even though he went wire to wire he came home faster than I think most of these other three-year-olds are capable of coming home in the last eighth of a mile quarter of a mile I think red zone runner at thirty to one is an interesting long shot and I think he has a chance to upset them all in the great two wood memorial let's take our final break Bob when we come back not only are we going to head out west and look at what's going on at San Anita but we'll have our blood horse news update you're listening to the weekend stakes preview on HRRN HRRN proudly presents Teppet Trice Week brought to you by Keenlyn sales all this week dear racing fans we've been waiting for you we've been working prepping training

20that's a big names over the years as far as Shadwell goes where it's Nashwan about 25 years ago IEED a little bit more recently Malathad Invasor days you're some of the great ones that bore the Shadwell colors and you can have a piece of the former Shadwell for a mere 20 million dollars all right Bob more realistically let's try to cash some tickets out at San Anita tomorrow they've got three graded stakes on their card first one is race six grade two San Anita oaks for the three-year-old Phillies going a mile in a sixteenth field of seven here number five meaning is heavily favored on the morning line yeah I was going to offer 25 million for Shadwell some very pleased with the asking price two baffords two McCarthy's in the San Anita oaks and they all look pretty talented the one forced entry by charlatan who's working out to be a good stallion for sure

20out of a violence mayor you know which on initial inspection does not say to turn route horse but you know one thing that sort of surprised us since he's been it studded and as a damn sire that you know violence they stay and so that I don't hold that against forced entry at all Hernandez jumpship from a bafford runner he rides the highly regarded meaning in this race for McCarthy so Mike Smith takes over for a peagram Watson and Whiteman has a lot of chance for sure I mean she's been really really good in their last two including a nice grade three win in which she pulled away from her stable mate French blue and also from the second place finish her bank shot who reappose French blues by gun runner out of an intumistic mayor the blinkers come off which is a 41% move for bafford broad shrew rides are for the second time in a row

20she showed pace along the inside last time she might not have been entirely comfortable running to the inside of of other fillies we'll see if she can bounce back with a better effort she'll need to and then the the two McCarthy's are the seven Brooklyn blonde who broke the maiden last time first time around two turns really impressively she'll have to step up on that but there's no reason she shouldn't and you know she's bred to her damn was grade one placed over the mile a 16th distance at San Anita would be sent into a queen Camira and McCarthy and then meaning is a horse that impresses on the debut at low style three to ten a lot of people liked her the big number of the breeder scuptial in the fillies and she didn't run bad at all unpleasant trip behind super corridor who kind of showed us that it was going to be a speed favorite track in that particular race only got beat three and three quarters and then came back in one the lost Virginace on February 8th

20like then a half under Pratt beating an explorer of course went to hot springs in one I just think she's a little bit better than these and I think that you know she can live up to a reputation that should definitely be in the mix in the Kentucky Oaks exciting filly the five meaning for her nanism McCarthy yeah probably too low to make her some sort of a best bet or anything but I like meaning as well not going to try to beat her at three to five I think she's better than the San Anita Oaks field or to race ten tomorrow at San Anita it's the half million dollar San Anita Derby grade one event Kentucky Derby points on the line three year olds going a mile at an eighth field of seven in this race Bob there are three graded stakes winners in the field Potente so happy and intrepidow you've got a new shooter and number one Cherokee Nation who took forever to break his maiden but when he did he did it really really fast wide open event despite a short field couple Bafferts couple from Doug O'Neill stable Bafferts going for his 10th Tampa San Anita Derby victory

24yeah Cherokee Nation I opening last time broke well under Haramio and Waltz by ten going a mile on the racetrack for our tree takes over for Mr. Haramio the other Baffert is Potente who's undefeated one the San Felipe by a head which really tough in that race has a lovely pedigree cost you point four million dollars by into mischief out of a sweet sting a really nice Pam and Marty why God awesome again mayor big work on March 26 can't fault his chance I think will probably be a little bit shorter than two to one and he get Vitruvian man from the O'Neill barn and Robusta Robusta would be the preferred one Haramio that's Robusta and he was really good against Potente last time after kind of flopping in the Bob and Beverly Lewis behind Plutarkin and Trapado yeah good horse you know definitely fits in here

26and eight to one probably you know fair reflection of his chance I don't like so happy the five going to a mile and eight for Smith and Gladys by run happy out of a blame mayor I think it's too tough of a task for the six start the ride I think it's a nice California bread and I'm going to go with the seven in Trapado a ridseling by Maximus Maximus mischief out of a pleasantly perfect mayor I think a mile and eight I'll suit him perfectly you know he's never run a bad race he won a great one over this race track last year beating Desertgate and Plutark another horse that had no chance based on the bias and the breeders cup juvenile last year perfect tune up on February 7th in the Lewis behind Plutark three in a quarter ahead of secured freedom I think he was outpaced at a crucial stage by Plutark he of course is off the Derby trail now I think he's been absolutely primed for this race and like I said I think nine ten for a long horse I think he's got a big chance in here

26for Boreos and Jeff Mullins yeah I'm on the same one not because I'm rooting for you but I actually think in Trapado should be better second time off the layoff than he was last time around he was still well clear of everyone else despite losing last time out I think he's going to better run his best race to date in the San Anita Derby and if he does he's got a big big chance at odds of seven to two 11th and final race uh... that we're going to well final race we're going to talk about but the 11th race on the card tomorrow at San Anita is the great three monrovia for Phillies and mayors going about six and a half furlongs down the hillside turf course field of seven here Bob I'm not sure they can beat number one queen Maxima yeah the two teru potty is interesting for Augustine stable uh... Jonathan Thomas um... and Ricky Gonzalez interesting career uh... started off the career um... for uh... running on the dirt um... several starts on the dirt and not particularly exciting ones

28uh... then switched to the turf at Laurel ran a good race um... went to woodbine it was claimed for twenty five thousand dollars off of Jonathan Thomas by Larry Atard and obviously they were taking a little bit of a gamble there you don't see this very often uh... yeah the horse was claimed for twenty five thousand moved up to fifty by uh... the Atard family Atard the trainer and Thomas and Augustine claimed her back for fifty thousand dollars um... since then she's come out here and played her trade very effectively she's by matoly out of a street sense mayor and she's never spread it on the turf she's been a mile or on the turf uh... she might really wake back wake up on the on the turn back to six and a half down the hill uh... Thomas as I'm having a wonderful meet at San Anita is 10 for 37 and of course I'm sure your eye was drawn to the shipper love appeals uh... Miguel Clamont is very very good um... you know

30in turf sprints um... and this horse is in fantastic form hitting the board uh... and her last four races including two good runs and floor to this year in stakes races one at Gulf Stream one at Tampa um... I think the six and a half might uh... aid her cause in here uh... and Haramio rides for Miguel Clamont definitely live three to one in the morning line but yeah I don't think they beat Queen Maxima I think Queen Maxima is just in outstanding form um... she turned into a win machine after losing her first four races she's eight for thirteen uh... won her nanda's Jeff Mullins they win 37% together uh... little concern with the rail draw but she won the lawsuit and it gets from the rail last year and she won the Monrovia this race last year by four and a quarter hoggo with the heavy favorite the one Queen Maxima yeah I'm not going to try to beat her as well I just think she's better than this field she's proven from the rail which is not the place you want to be going down the hillside turf course but it's just a short field and she's just

33better than this field she may be out in front of him earlier she's certainly going to be close up I figure she'll be in front turning for home regardless four to five would be a gift on Queen Maxima she looks one to two to me in the grade three Monrovia that's twelve graded stakes Bob time for the best bets the H-R-R-N best bet all right my friend lots of big races choose from where you're going yeah I need to go with the Santa Anita Derby as you know my fan have been trepido and I think he's been prime perfectly for the uh model in the Santa Anita Derby this is a horse there's never really had an easy race he debuted against brant last July at Delmar uh... won a couple in a row really impressive the way he stayed on in the American Pharaoh last year put a line to his breeders cup juvenile I thought the uh Lewis was an ideal tune up for the Santa Anita Derby I'll take the uh seven and hope to get seven to two on the Jeff Mullins train Hector Boreosch ridden in trepido all right you're going to get a better price for your best bet than I will with

33mine I'm going to the first race we discussed the grade three common wealth uh for the older horses sprinting seven furlongs on the main track tomorrow at Keenland especially with the scratch of number one BU who we don't know is scratch but uh by all accounts is staying in New York to run in the Carter instead that certainly takes some of the late pace out of the race and I just think Saudi crowns better than this field Saudi crown just has to not get into some sort of a paste duel with national identity either be in front of national identity or stalking him and I think he's probably faster than national identity early on and if Saudi crowns in front going only seven furlongs which I think he's going to be I really don't think they're going to catch him he should win the grade three commoner wealth tomorrow out at Keenland speaking of tomorrow monster addition of the equine forum tomorrow morning here on the network our good friend Mike Pena boy he really did some good work this week he's sitting down with Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert as he looks ahead to Saturday

34Santa Anita Derby the Santa Anita Oaks and the Wood Memorial Chad Brown going to join the show discussing the loss of Kentucky Derby hopeful paladin he's going to share his thoughts on iron honor otenio and more Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito back in the fold shares his favorite Wood Memorial memories and Keenland announcer Kurt Becker previews their loaded Saturday car planter plus trainer John Ennis on bluegrass contender great white wow that's a whole lot of great guests already Joe Christopher on the show giving you three races to watch in his twin spires triple play Kurt Becker is going to take you on his weekly stroll to racing history presented by Keenland I'll be back looking at all the three-year-olds calling all three-year-olds presented by spend thrift and of course Dale Romans and Tim Wilkins tackling the sport hottest topics on I ask they answer presented by the University of Louisville equine industry program you know originally a few years ago when the equine forum Bob went from two hours every Saturday to three hours I was wondering how they were going to fill the extra hour

36when you see a roster like this tomorrow you're wondering how they're going to get everything in in just that three-hour time span yeah definitely probably could have done four hours because it's such a huge weekend in racing it's just a clarify paladin system sadland yeah well as of now that's what it you know he it wasn't he's he's just injured but an injury that they're expecting him to make a full recovery from and even possibly return sometime before the end of the year oh fantastic all right we'll look forward to that and always a pleasure Bobby all right my friend lots a great great great racing to watch the final of the hundred point qualifiers on the road to the Kentucky Derby takes place this week after this weekend Bob we only have one Derby points qualifier left it'll be a week from tomorrow in the Lexington Stakes out at Keenland so we're pretty much going to know who's going to be in the 2026 Kentucky Derby buys later this later tomorrow night that's going to wrap it up today

39on the weekend Stakes preview for our producer Lee Delapino my co-host Bob Nostanovich I'm Bobby Newman have a great weekend at the track everybody
