Howie Rose's Mets Broadcasting Career Ends

New York Met's story is making news on March 19th.

Long time New York Met's radio broadcaster Howie Rose announced this week that he plans

to retire at the end of the season.

The 72-year-old has spent four decades with the organization, calling games for fans across

the airwaves.

Rose started his Met's broadcasting career back in 1987.

He took over as the team's lead, play-by-play voice on radio in 2006, becoming a familiar

presence for listeners during countless games.

For Rose, it all traces back to his childhood days in the upper deck at Shea Stadium.

He always dreamed of getting closer to the action and broadcasting let him do just that.

Turning a kid's wish into a long-lasting career, he shared heartfelt thanks to his wife

and daughters, Alissa and Chelsea, noting how much they sacrificed over the years to support

his work on the Daya, Road and in the Booth.

As the Met's pushed through the season, fans are already reflecting on Rose's legacy

and gearing up for his final calls.
