Having our products and services available around the clock 365 days a year has some logical appeal and expands our potential for sales. But the reality is, demand for products, the prices people will pay, and the lengths they will go to all skyrocket when there is scarcity or FOMO--fear of missing out--as they say. We need to find ways to inject scarcity into our offers--limited time, limited number, or some special benefit that is only available for a limited time. When we do that, we can increase demand for our products and services and actually make more sales by offering less.
