Houston Cougars Aim for National Title

0:00On March 18th, the Houston Cougars are back in the NCAA tournament as the number two seed in the South region. They're set to kick things off on Friday against the number 15 seed Idaho Vandals. After reaching the national championship game as runners-up last season, the team is hungry for another deep run. Coach Kelvin Samson has built a strong squad by blending returning veterans with fresh high school talent. This mix has kept the Cougars competitive and among the top seeds for multiple years now. Guard a manual sharp-shared memories of his nervous NCAA debut four years ago. As a freshman, a simple crossover move had him stumbling badly in their first round win over Northern Kentucky. Still, he scored ten points with two-three pointers in that game. Sharp kept contributing through the tournament, adding points and rebounds and wins over Auburn and a loss to Miami. Last year, he's shown as the Midwest regionals' most outstanding player. Now in his senior season, Sharp aims to lead Houston all the way to a national title and what could be his final tournament shot.
