We were having a very serious conversation about mayonnaise here and the bulldog. And don't even talk to me about weed. Not WGR. Sports Radio 550. Have you decided what your favorite sabers play off matchup would be? Oh, um, we've talked about whether they would wear black uniforms or even all of it. Don't know that answer. I doubt they'd wear them for all of it if they're even allowed to wear them at all. We talked about this late in the week. And we're just different possibilities and hard path, easy, easiest path, whatever. I'm still hung up on what a Montreal series would look like. I think those are two of the most interesting and exciting Young-Gish teams in the league. And I just think a playoff series between the two of them
could be a real, real fun time, fun watch. So I don't know if that's like my favorite idea. I just, those games they played this year have been just basically my favorite games. And then positioned as two and three, which the obviously are not right now, Montreal is currently third, the sabers have to fall in back into second and have that stay the same Detroit's also at 82 points, same as Montreal. So it's still, it's gonna probably go down right to the wire. But I'm gonna have a hard time getting that matchup out of my head. And I don't think it's the best or the easiest matchup they could have, but I think it's history, the uniforms will look great if the sabers wear the right stuff. And I just think stylized, it could be a great fight. So that, I think that's my answer right now. I'm a little deterred by going to the last Montreal game
and being completely surrounded by Canadian fans except for my daughter. And I've always said this about leaf fans too. You love the energy, right? I mean, there's nothing bad about going to a sporting event and having people root for both teams. Like, it maybe is a little bit embarrassing to a sabers fan when that happens, but really, like the energy of the crowd is so lively and good as opposed to a game where, you know, they're playing Nashville or something. And just everyone's just kind of sitting there. Right. And so I'm a little bit maybe kind of scarred by that. You know, I don't think it would be that pronounced in the playoffs. I don't either. Yeah. But the sabers lost this game and I was surrounded by people who were losing their minds with excitement, right? And I almost got punched in the face by accident as my daughter and I were leaving. There was an empty net goal, like a minute left in that game and we were sitting on the glass. So all the way up and these Canadian fans were just everywhere
and you'd think they'd won something important. Act like you've been there. I mean, you'd think it would have been important. Instead, it's just a Saturday night in February, right? It's just a, you know, they're both going to be in the playoffs. The one guy I was talking to during the game, I think I kind of bummed him out. So I said, how great would this crowd be if this game mattered at all? Right. What do you mean? Well, it doesn't mean anything. You know, it means a little bit. So I'm not ready to pick Montreal. Yeah. Get that. I would hope that the building, I think we'll take care of that. I mean, I don't know if they'll take steps to bar zip codes or something. Like Carolina has done that before in the playoffs. So that's touchy because of Southern Ontario. Like there are legitimate sabers fans in Southern Ontario. And I can't do it. So I don't think you can really make that work. I mean, but even still, I just think it'd be such a hot ticket that I trust that we'll have the building, you know,
70, 30, 80, 20, something maybe, and maybe that's even too much for playoffs. You know, you don't want to have to share it. That is sort of a, that's a bummer on that front to that idea. I think I want Detroit. I think Detroit's probably the easiest mark of the whole group. There's that, and I'm not sure there's a huge gap, but there's that. I think that's probably right. Who knows what the crowds would be for a Buffalo Detroit series? They're probably both in both buildings. There'd be road fans. I mean, it's a makeable choice. And I don't know, like both teams have been down for a long time. Maybe, I imagine the sabers, like if all the things that have happened this year, what it sounds like to even just posit the possibility that they might ban certain, you know, zip codes or whatever. How did it possibly come this far so fast? But we don't think they're going to do that or you're not, I'm not sure that they can effectively do it
because of their own Canadian fans. Sure, makes it hard, I think. And I don't want them to. Detroit though, maybe the weakest team, still a long ways to go, this could change. Right now it is the matchup, right? Boston is Wildcard 2, which means they go to Carolina and Detroit is Wildcard 1, and they would get the other division winner, which is right now Buffalo. Perfect. There's no playoff history, there's no Adams division thing with the Red Wings. But there's a long history, of course. It's original six. There's probably a lot of fans. Of course there are a lot of fans in Southern Ontario, also who are Red Wings fans growing up. You've also got the Patrick Kane factor, right? If you want that. I mean, Buffalo's own 20 to 25 years ago, they were the best, you know, like the Fedorov Red Wings years. And that team, like a Patriots, like a- Spring is here, and the shopping list is long. If you've been injured in an accident and feel like no one is fighting for you, it's time to fight back. Paul Zari Law at 888-828-Hurt.
That's what one call you can put a proven legal team on your side. Zari Law has been serving the DMV for over 15 years, proudly fighting for our local community. I was born and raised right here in the DMV, and my team is made up of experienced, reputable local attorneys dedicated to fighting for injury victims just like you. Hey y'all, it's Kelly Clarkson with WayFair. Ever order furniture online and wonder, what if? Like, what if it doesn't fit? Little to the left, the width! Yep, should've gone with WayFair. Or what if it doesn't hold up?
That sofa was four days old. Should've ordered from WayFair. Or what if it's that material that makes that noise? It was a sofa, I swear. With WayFair, there's no what it. Just style you love, quality you can trust, and furniture that actually fits your life. Visit WayFair.com or download the WayFair app. WayFair every style, every home. Complish, that team always has tons of fans. And that's a generation. So I think I like everything about that. And that includes not maybe getting punched, almost getting punched by a opposing fan. By a Canadian's fan, they just cannot control himself. I don't know, that's my pick. Boston is fine. You get a lot of nostalgia with Boston and Montreal. Or even Ottawa, that's long enough now. Ottawa has, boy, it's so funny how quickly it changes. Ottawa is an inn right now. And I think I would worry more about them than I would Detroit or Boston.
I'm not sure I want to say that about Montreal. But all year, really, the book on Ottawa has been, this excellent young, exciting roster and the goal tending has been letting them down. And if they, what are they, four points back right now with a game, with a two on Detroit. If they, if they, okay, if they get there, I just think that's, that's a team that is more of a threat to me. Who knows when we get there? But I think sitting here today, I would be more fearful of Ottawa than I am a Boston or Detroit. Again, I don't know about Montreal. Detroit, Detroit's gonna have to, I mean, they won, they won like five to two last night. But Larkin is still out for maybe a couple of weeks and their number two center cop is closer to returning than Larkin. This was from the Detroit broadcast, which was also on Amazon Prime in Canada, which is how I saw the game last night. Wow, yeah, right?
It was Ken Daniels, I think it was the whole crew. It was Ken Daniels and I think Jody Shelley and I don't think he normally does Red Wing's games, but they had the Red Wing's legendary play-by-play guy was the play-by-play guy on Amazon Prime last night and they're talking about the timeline and so Larkin longer than cop. And I mean, those are the top two centers. Like that's tough at this time of the year. So they might just be happy to make it at this point because of that, I mean. Well, I've been kind of waiting for that, but last night they got down and they came ran away. Yeah, they did. Yeah, five, two I think was the final last night. Calgary, but still. Calgary, right? Yeah, Calgary was up to one maybe, I think, and then Detroit is hammered. Even the teams on the other, not Carolina, but the other teams on the other side are also in play. Pittsburgh Islanders Columbus are in play. Whoever gets fourth there, if they make up two points on Boston or three on Detroit, just the same. That's right, the better wildcard
could still come from the other conference. You have seven Pittsburgh included. You have seven or even eight if you want to include the lightning, but I'm nervous to, let's say seven. Seven pretty comparable potential opponents by the odds, whether the Sabers finish first or second, if they finish second, then it will just be third in their division couldn't possibly be a wildcard team, but still like that's also Montreal and Detroit and Boston and Ottawa. If you win the division, then like I said, those Metro teams are possibilities. That brings whoever finishes in that wildcard and right now nobody is, but Columbus is knocking on the door. They're two points back, but the Islanders are tied with Boston right now, so if Columbus were to displace them or the Penguins, like you said, then so yeah, you can consider Pittsburgh, the Islanders, the Blue Jackets, Ottawa, Boston, Detroit, Montreal, all like if you win the division,
those are all possible matchups. You know, whatever one you would pick as your least favorite, maybe is that, how would you base that? What would you base that on? Is that the worst matchup for them? If you're picking Montreal as you are for your favorite matchup here, it's not because you think they're the easiest to beat. That's right. They're the opposite of that almost. Yeah. So maybe you'd pick whoever is just sort of the least interesting and maybe that's Columbus, say, right? I remember in 1997, I would have been in the arena for the Blizzard games, then, I hope I remember this right. 96.97 Sabre season, I'm there in the arena because there's a Blizzard game. I was the radio announcer and it's right at the end of the NHL's regular season. And I'm not sure if it was a game between Ottawa and Montreal, but the guys in the press box, and there were a couple like Sabre's guys there, maybe the Sabres were off this night, and they were watching Hockey Night in Canada
and celebrating that Ottawa was gonna be the Sabre's opponent. Like they won, whatever they did. Had they even been to the playoffs before, 1997, Ottawa, probably not. They were, when were they born, 93? So the Sabres win that division pretty shockingly, kind of like this, 97, right, with Nolan. And they draw, the guys who I'm talking about are watching the final seconds of whatever game it is that puts Ottawa into the playoffs, and as the Sabres opponent, and they were giddy. And a couple of them were friends of mine, and like, okay, like the Sabres are gonna be in the playoffs and they're playing the Senators, like an expansion team. And they didn't have, it was kind of a low point total. And I remember saying something about it to one guy, and he worked in media relations. And his reason, he told me his reason for being so happy is he didn't have to deal with the Montreal media. Like it was more just like his job stuff.
Right. It was why he was so excited, but you never know. I mean, that was a seven game series, and even though Ottawa had never been to the playoffs before the Sabres were pretty lucky to get out of it. So, I guess I thought of that because the idea of playing Columbus in the playoffs might feel something like that, or this is really a playoff series. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 92.93 is their first season back in, back in. But, well, it's just like the 20, something. Yeah, right, from the pre-original six era, basically, right? Yes. And I'm looking, and that is, yeah. Is it six, seven, seven, sixth? Are there finishes prior to 96.97 when they finished third? That's the season. That's the Steve Shield series. Right. Right. And the series that features the Sabres only ever game seven wins, right? Over time, Derek Plant. Derek Plant. What's your favorite idea? 803.0550.
This is another, here comes the disclaimer. They're not in yet. There you go. I said it once. I said it once. I wasn't going to. It's pretty incredible that they, a win tonight of any kind, gets them to 90 points. That is, that's insane with 14 games left. With 14 games left to go. It's just, it's just amazing. Yeah, they should get to 100, don't you think? Yeah, I mean, unless they really fall apart here, yeah, I mean, six wins. That's six wins out of 15 games. That's correct. Man, that's not even good. That's not even good. And by this team's standard, it's terrible. Because they're losing like five every 30 or something or whatever, whatever the number 5 every 30 numbers are ridiculous. Yes. It's not exactly right. It's close to that though. I'm again, like, like so many of you, like just so wired for this.
And it's not the most interesting conversation. But it's so much fun to think about, to imagine, like, we're a month away. The 15th of April, I believe, is the season finale. So on this date in a month, we're going. I mean, this is, we're going to know everything about whoever the other team is. We'll try to. That Tola Moore do segment is going to have to be more than nine seconds. It's going to be, that's right. What are we going to do about this guy? It'll be longer. What are we going to do about Slav Koski? We got to really, he's like a segment now, right? You guys done your Slav Koski segment? Yeah, today. No, it's coming up for 45. That's not enough. That's not enough. No, that's right. Too short. Yeah. There's just so much. There's just so much that comes back. It's just so good. And it's just so I look at all this stuff has been said, probably already, and over the years. But you just, the football's king,
bills are king. We all know it. We get it just, I mean, the two leagues where they sit in the American consciousness. I mean, it's not even, it's obviously not even close. But football is just, it's not exactly the opposite, but it's close. It's like six days of pouring yourself into this matchup. And then it's three hours and then it's over. And then you're either on to another game or you're going home and your season's over and your coach is getting fired. And it's just so, it's just so spotty, like the action, the actual thing that you really are waiting for takes up so little of the actual time spent thinking about it. Whereas with hockey, once the playoffs begin, unless you get, you know, as you win in five and everybody else goes seven and you're waiting around for six or seven days for the second round or the third round to start, it's just every other day and the rhythm of it is so great.
It just, you're just, you get up in the morning and it's like it's game day and like, oh my God, the angst is already there. I cannot wait for one of my gonna do until seven o'clock. I've said for years, I mean, I've said it recently because obviously we haven't had it, but I like having this job for that because it gives me something to do. Like, whereas, yeah, I mean, if I, I would be going out of my mind. I mean, I know I would have some other job that would be occupying my time. I recognize that so I would have the whole day to kill or anything, but I like not, you know, not being able to just go to the bar at three o'clock, for example, I like that we're locked in here till almost game time that locked up, locked up, right? I really do like that, but the rhythm of it is just so great. How was the game last night? What about tomorrow? And then like, then you're there. Like, there's another game, bam. You barely had enough time to talk about and think about all the things that happened the night before
and you start thinking about the next one and then it's there already. And it's just so great when that schedule is every other night like that. Well, yes, and I think it's probably right. I mean, we're in sort of a honeymoon phase about this. It was not expected and it's just so fun. Like I'm saying, as we're talking about playing certain of these opponents and all of it, what will be the question of the day, those days? Might be who the goal is. I don't know, do you have a feel for whether the fans are one way or another about Lion and Luke and in? My sense is that the fans favor Lion. Luke and in has been here and has sort mostly, I mean, what, what, it's a lot down mostly. He hasn't gotten it done and he's got a contract which is not obscene, but it's a commitment. It's four and a half million bucks for three more seasons.
And I feel like that and Lion is newer and really hasn't let you down at all yet. I mean, he's been excellent all year, right? He didn't have a seven goal win, seven goal against win, like Luke and indeed. And I just think there's some fatigue with Luke and in. Like I feel like if it ever is being talked about like online, you know, Twitter, whatever, I feel like I'm defending Luke and in. From, from fans, like from, yeah. So that is my sense is that Lion, again, Lion has never hurt us. And I thought that Luke and has really hurt you. It's just, you know, whatever. It's, I haven't been a good team when he's been the guy that was playing most of the games. So I, I think they're very comparable. I think it's a really interesting year for the, it's, there's not an easy answer. And I thought and maybe some of our audience picked up on it,
maybe even you did, like even early in the year, I just always thought their default setting would be, okay, let's get Luke in and up and running. He's the, he's the commitment. Let's just make that work. He's younger, he's maybe athletically more gifted, pedigree, second round pick, finish national team. Like he's, he's sort of outranks Lion career wise just because of his draft status almost and Lion's more of a journeyman. And I just thought they would try to get him, give him the benefit of like the extra start here or there. And that just really has not happened. He was even picked for the Olympics this year. That's right. But then got hurt. So to their credit, I think I want to say that this is to their credit. They haven't forced that, at least not externally. Like I, I don't think anyone could tell you that they've been favoring Luke and in any way. I can't and I thought they would. And as I say, it's a mistake. I think they've, they've been honest about it and it's really worked out for him.
But it's at a point where they're probably gonna feel like they should pick one or the other. The question on Lion, probably the most common one, probably will be the combination of the lack of playoff experience, which is also Luke and in. But he's gonna end up at a workload that he's never surpassed. I mean, he played 44 games in one season for Detroit, which is easily the most of his what, nine year career. And he'll come somewhat close to that this year. But then if you tack on playoff games, it's kind of a new workload for him. That's the word I guess I want to use. And who knows, right? I mean, when you have so many key players that have never been, I mean, Lions had one season where his team was in the, we started three games for Florida in a, in a playoff year. That's it for his whole career. And got pulled and then they went to the finals. Yeah, but I mean, I'm blaming him,
but I'm just saying like it didn't go real well. They lost and then he got taken out and they, you know, went on a run. That would, that would count as well. That lasted until this year. Yeah, right. So it was three years ago. David is with us, hello. Hey guys, I really appreciate you guys taking my call. Sure. Thanks for being there. Yeah, just, just calling just to say how excited and how much it's gonna mean to me when those sabers make the playoff as a long time sabers fan move the Buffalo in 89 and then moved away later in life, but have remained a huge fan. I have a 13 year old and a 10 year old son, both play hockey and our, our, our avid hockey fans and our sabers fans, but really haven't been able to experience playoff hockey as that true fan. And if when the sabers are able to make it, it's just gonna be an amazing experience
that I'm gonna be able to have with them, watching from afar and just truly excited about this team and what's the come for these guys. Thank you again for taking my call. All right, you're welcome. Yeah, a lot of people are gonna be experiencing that with their families, with their kids. I mean, I might find two boys. One of them doesn't care about hockey. The 24 year old has never experienced it. So I mean, I'll have that with not a little kid that's playing hockey anymore, but still this year has already been as much fun as I've ever had with him watching the sabers. It's not even close. I'm waiting for my kids to show a little bit more excitement for it if they don't, they don't. Right. But I'm kind of thinking that their friends are gonna be into it. I mean, my daughter's a hockey player, my son is a lacrosse player. He's got lots of hockey player friends. And I wanna think that'll happen, but nobody in high school, a high school age has any memory and any personal experience with it. So we'll see what it looks like.
I gotta think, though, there'll be a lot of excitement there too. Mike Schopen, the Bulldog here at 803-0550. This is WGR. Spring is here and the shopping list is long. Time to make a lows run. And then starting to year off with the injuries and some of the losses we had the three overtime losses in a row that played really well in it. Now to go on this run where you start winning and you think, okay, we just got to win one more. And our mantra has been, please see it almost every night, we just got to win one more. Leaving on this trip, it's the same. Walking in the dressing room every day, you just see the guys, the energy they've got, the attitude, the belief that they can win every night. It's great to see them getting rewarded for how hard they've been working. Lindy Ruff this morning on WGR, what time? Who that have been? Good for him getting up out West. Yeah. To do the morning show. Yeah, good question. I don't know what time they did do that. I know I saw it on Twitter that he was on, but I didn't make a note of the time. Does he go back to bed? I mean, if it's six o'clock, so nine our time,
if he was able to push it off to nine. Yep. It's tough to go back to bed from six when you're like the coach of the Sabers and you gotta be responsible for stuff, right? Morning skate, I think it's stay up. You just, yeah, you go, you know, whatever. Coffee, light breakfast, eventually morning skate, media, after morning skate, Blackjack. Okay, squeeze that in. The tables, don't forget the table. And I think there's a good nap window there. Can you bet inside that arena, you think? You know how you can bet at the airport? Yeah, yeah. Lots are everywhere at the airport. I don't, I don't know. Maybe NHL wouldn't want that. I would guess know that they would rather not have gambling on the concourses of the building their games. Yeah, that sounds right. Played in, but I, I don't know, I've never been. I've never, it's never even something that's come up. You know what I mean? In passing fans who've been there, I've never heard anyone say like, yeah, there's a slot machine right outside my section.
I think you can't bet on your phone in Nevada. Okay. Oh wow, I think you'd have to go to the window. Okay. Somewhere. I'm guessing there aren't, there's not gambling inside there. Okay, the rink. But I don't know. And Lindy probably doesn't want to be seen playing Crap's or something. Probably not. Probably a bet. Bad choice. Especially on a game morning. I, you get suspended. Morning of it. You think you would get suspended for, yeah, especially on the morning of a game. Tomorrow no biggie. Would he get, would it be a suspendable offense to like play Blackjack? No. No, I don't, oh wait. Do they have appearances? Yeah. Well, but even just gambling in general, like they're league personnel. I mean, they can't bet on sports. Right? I think, I think that should be the rule. I'm pretty sure that that's the way that goes. Are they prohibited from gaming overall? I think, I think Jameson Williams of the Lions.
What he got busted for, if I remember right, was betting women's basketball maybe from the plane. And the plane is like team, right? Grounds, right? Right, no pun intended. So I think that's what cost him however many games he got busted for. If it wasn't Williams, if somebody else, who like, that seems like maybe not that adjacent to what could be a problem. Yeah, yeah. But he was still suspended for it. So, well, I mean a show, can you go to a show? Sure. Matt Nade, Lance Jordan, Magic Show or something. Penn and Teller. Penn and Teller, great, perfect. 803, 05, 50 for your call sabers and Golden Knights tonight pregame, not until nine. How about hockey, by the way, blazing the trail to Las Vegas? Yeah, now everybody's done. Everybody's gone. Football has been, is there now baseball's going and then looks like basketball is going and there was nothing until hockey. I mean, you know, someone was going to win the race.
Like that was happening. It's just like hockey got there first and I'm, I don't know, they're not usually first. No, no. No. Well, they were first, between hockey and football, they were first to play in games on Wednesdays. Sure, right. But now we have that in the NFL. Probably talk about this tonight a little bit on ADP chasing. Which you can watch before the hockey game. All right, see, perfect. Yeah, your season kickoff game is now Wednesday this year. Right. So they can't play on Friday night because of a long standing rule that the NFL won't step on high school football on Friday nights from the second Friday of September to December. And last year, it lined up that the first week of the NFL season was the week before that. The Friday night game in Brazil was not a problem. But this year, no. So instead, they're going Wednesday for the Seahawks against somebody.
And then the next night is expected to be the Rams and the 49ers from Australia. Right. Which what time of day will that be? When I was watching the Australian open, we'd watch, you know, nine o'clock at night and beyond but it'd be like mid-morning, isht an Australian, I think it'll be like that. I think that, I mean, yeah, you're gonna cater to the North American audience. So if you're shooting for eight o'clock, then I think, yeah, I think your game is being played at 10 o'clock in the morning. 10 in the morning, that might be. I think that's probably what's gonna happen. I don't see any way around it. I need to put this game on at midnight. No. So, you know, that's gonna be it. So, I mean, will that matter? Certainly not to us, I don't think. And I don't know, Australia is still packs their stadium for, you know, American football. It's debut on the continent. That is weird that like, you know, you win the Super Bowl and you don't get the Thursday. Like, would we be mad about that?
Like if the bills had won, you know, of course, the joy would still be, I think, you know, resonating to some extent. But would we, one of the first things we'd get mad about is like, what do you mean I gotta play on a Wednesday? And I don't get the Thursday night opener because what? Because you gotta go to Australia this year? What are we doing? Yeah. Can Australia play on Wednesday? Can Australia be the one to move? Why don't I give my Thursday? Whatever. Who will the Seahawks get? So, it won't be the Rams of the Niners. Right, because they'll be in Australia. That's a quick turnaround. If they have to play the Seahawks, it's not even on the way to Australia. If they go to Seattle and that, no. So, it won't be the Rams of the Niners. It's not gonna be Arizona because that's Arizona. Right. It's not gonna be the Giants, right? Definitely not. That leaves Dallas, Kansas City. No. No, not with my homes in question.
They are not. And that'll be, that's coming out in May. And they will not know. So, no way will it be the Chiefs. Chargers. Okay. It's a source. Yeah. Doesn't quite rise to the level of the season opener. So, so far the pick is Dallas. I think so, yeah. New England. I mean, that's pretty good. That was rematch and it's... It wasn't even a close game though. I know, but New England is sort of new to being contendery, right? They're back for that reason alone, I think I like it. And then there's one more possibility, and this'll be my pick. Chicago. That's good enough. The Chargers don't rise to the level. The Bears do. Now, the Bears could have been the pick years ago when they were unwatchable because they were always getting prime time games in Chicago, right? Now they're interesting.
I think I would bet Chicago then Dallas, the New England. I'm often wrong on that. I always worked by the premise that they didn't want the game to be too good. Like a Super Bowl rematch to me would just be more than they need for the opener, but they've proven differently in recent years. So I guess they'd have to be a possibility. I think I would go to New England and Chicago, Dallas. I like the rematch idea. It would be another thing if the rematch was against a team that we're all sick of. You know what I mean? That's been on the stage. New England all those qualifies because they've only been gone for like five years. But again, they're new to being a contender. I feel like that works. And the fact that the game was so lopsided is all the more reason. If the betting markets think those two teams are going to be contender level status again, let's put them out on the field again and see what happens. I think I like I'm talking myself in the New England.
I hate it. I hate this idea. I hate this idea. I wanted you to hate it. Why would the logic dictate that because the game was so one sided that it's a good choice? Now they're going to have to play the CEOX in Seattle because it was just one game. Well, they're all one game. No, but it's I don't I don't think you said like the game wasn't even close. I think that not only that matters. They made the Super Bowl. They're the betting market is going to tell you they're a super bowl contender again. Put them right back out there. Are the Patriots even really that interesting? Like is that a team that gets the maximum night games? It's a big it's a big market. Yeah, I know like the Brady variable era. Yeah, they're going to be elevated to England. They're going to be everywhere. They'll get the whatever the number is. Six five six whatever they'll they'll get the max. Yeah, I think so. I think so. I think they're going to be a team that I'm just annoyed when they're the game of the night. Just not that sexy. I think just like a heaven to watch
Rable and whoever else. Yeah. Miami maximum of two night games. Leagues lowest win total. Man, you said it when we talked about Malik Willis the other day. Explain to me how this is going to work where I'm signing up not top tier, but I'm piring to his replacement. Someone that I'm hopeful about. It's not just a lark. I mean, it's not even what fields was for the jets. It's more than that. I think it's more than that. Still like it's a significant it's an investment and you're hoping to strike gold development. And here we go. Here's our future. And even before today, the roster is like down to the end. It almost looks like the Malik Willis move was made by a different general manager. Like every other move they've made says we're going to the bottom with intent. And Willis does not and I just think it's, yeah,
it's very, it's a very odd. Are you hoping to carry him through this terrible year where you're down to the studs and have your team believe in him still in a second year, let alone your fans? It's a really weird, it's a really weird signing. Now they trade Waddle. Like I don't think you get an honest look at how good he could be because of what you're surrounding him with. So then how are you going to make a decision on whether you want to keep going? I just don't get it. I just don't get it. I think it's a very odd, it's odd choices. I mean, I understand gutting it. I understand getting rid of Tua. What I don't understand is not just moving forward with your name here to get through this year. And then, you know, if you like Willis so much that you had to be the team that got him this year and free agency. That must be it.
I don't know, then why not? I don't know, I guess the dead money is why not. Like sort of keep going with some of what you've got. Like at least Waddle. That contract wasn't even that cumbersome. I mean, they're saving money, but it's still not, like it wasn't a problem. A big problem, I don't think. It just doesn't make sense what they did there. You said it in there. The only logical conclusion is they just love them. The coach was in Green Bay when he played for the Packers last year and they must feel that this is the guy they had to have. And they didn't want to punt the year, well, or punt this opportunity. They're going to punt the year they raised their hand to admit that today. It's a good trade, though, for both teams, I think, the trade today. Miami, that's what you should do. Yeah, they made it out great. And Denver gets a really good wide receiver. As upset as a lot of us where I still think rightly so about what the bills paid to get DJ Moore, I'm glad the bills made that deal and not this one.
I don't think there's that much of a difference between these two players that I would want to pay, like, what, the double basically, like in draft points, I think, I don't know, I'm happy you're about DJ Moore. Now, so I think that Miami did great in that trade. It's probably more than double. Late first, late third, and a fourth swap, the other way, which is not going to be much. I saw, I don't have it committed to memory, around 200 in draft capital, 200 points in draft capital, versus, like, 700. Yeah, so you're right, it's more, it's, it's, it's triple. When the bills traded for Moore, I'll look this up to double check it, but it was something like 200, but it must have been a different chart from the numbers you just used, but something like 200 points to 26. And DJ Moore, 26 plus DJ Moore. In turn, here, I've got a tweet now. I'm sorry, but I don't know where,
it's from a fan account, then it doesn't say where the data, like, where the data comes from. 714 points is what I've got Denver, according to this, and the bills were 275. How much better a player can be debated? Better, a better player. Better, but I don't know that gap. But it's substantial. Paul Hamilton coming up at 6 from Las Vegas, he made it.
