2:04But the medium blend is perfect for me. Yeah, I'm fine with it all love it. Uh well for the first time since 1983 and it's even interesting that it happened in 1983. Some degree vinyl record sales hit a billion dollars. A billion worldwide one billion. I don't know if it's worldwide it says recording it's the RIAA so that's the recording industry association of America. Uh so I'm going to guess that this is Merca only. Um but they hit a billion dollars in physical sales. Uh the comeback of vinyl hit a new milestone in 2025. They're saying the RIAA saying it's surpassed the billion dollar mark in sales last year for the first time in over 40 years. But they're talking about vinyl vinyl. Swifties are partly to thank for this Taylor Swift sold more than everybody else combined. I'm sure I heard the life of a show girl was the top selling vinyl of 2025 and that included eight different versions.

3:09Although those were some of them were limited. Uh but I'm sure they were in the thousands. Uh the K-pop demon hunter soundtrack was also a popular vinyl buy. And one of the things that was great to me about vinyl was you got a lot of stuff with it with a vinyl record. You got the whole sometimes it was just a sleeve sometimes it was not much. But sometimes you'd pull it out and there'd be a book or it'd be a do you know sort of a double folded over thing with all kinds of pictures of the band. And it was really the only time you could even see the band. Because in the days before MTV no one knew what anybody looked like anywhere in the world. Absolutely consumed every bit of you pour over it. vinyl only represents they say here a little under 10% of sales. In the United States recorded music industry, which is an 11.5 billion dollar industry. That's the revenue from last year for music. So when they say for music, they mostly mean like what we're paying for streaming services.

4:14No streaming remains a dominant force among listeners posting 9.5 billion in revenue last year. So that's separate. They're oh, it's separate. I think so. Doesn't it? What else would the billion dollars we spent to the other 10 billion? I thought that was all combined. I think it's part of it. Okay. Yeah. I think so. It would almost have to be because really other than physically buying it. Aren't we all kind of getting we're paying for various services? I suppose people do still buy a record of that. I think you're right. I think it's combined. They divided it here and they're not being real specific. But I think you're right. It's probably part of it. But still an 11.5 billion dollar a year industry is music is still doing well. Despite how many musicians are saying, I'm not getting paid. Right. So somebody's getting that money. Well. Taylor is it Taylor? It's maybe Taylor, but it's also there seem to be layers upon layers upon layers of people who get the money before the people who actually created the art.

5:18And that would be Spotify probably makes more money than all the people that it pays. The average consumer spends $274 on music. That doesn't surprise me at all with $100 on live concerts and $75 on streaming. I spend, I think I spend more than that on streaming. I think so too. I pay for Spotify. I pay for Spotify, I pay for Amazon music. I pay for Apple music, all those things, all those things. So the Swifties are mostly to thank for the Taylor's top selling vinyl in 2025. The life of a showgirl Kpop demon hunters was in there. Vinyl was the most popular physical format because you can still buy other formats. 46.8 million records were sold compared to 29.5 million. CDs. There are people who are still hanging onto a CD. Vinyl's grown every year since 2016 from 224.9 million in 2016 to 2025.

6:211.04 billion. So the growth is there. That's great. That's the thing that's weird for me. And I just, I understand I'm a broken record in this sense that I'm just busy. I can't put a record on and sit down. I have to have my music with me on the go. Right. But I love the idea of doing that. I miss it. It's the olden days though. We didn't have our music on the go. You remember when the Sony Walkman, you could take a cassette with you. It was amazing. What? Not just at my house and in my car. This is incredible. At different times in my life, I've been a bean bag guy. Yeah. And the, the sitting down in a bean bag with the record cover while the record plays was a thing I did. Oh, yeah. Like for, you know, two hours straight. Yeah. I'm just going to sit here. And that was it, kids. We weren't playing some game on our computer. We weren't, you know, doing that was it. We were just list. That was what, what are you doing?

7:21I'm listening to music. Uh-huh. And that's why I, and I truly did hope that buying my kids iPods when I did was so that they could sit and listen to music in their rooms without anyone bother them. But my hands are free. But they don't. No, they figured out how to game those things into way more than that. Well, if I had the room for it, I would definitely have a turntable and, and a collection of records. I have a few records, but they're just like in a closet somewhere. They just don't, I don't have it. You know, remember the old rec room, like the TV was there. And sometimes on top of the TV, there was a, there you opened the top and there was like a whole stereo setup, but it would use the same speakers. And then people were like really into their speaker systems. And then we were wiring our houses for all these like surround sound and all of that stuff, vinyl records, hit a billion. That's great. Yeah. Metallica singer James Hetfield. Yeah. He proposed to his girlfriend, Adriana Gillett, or possibly Gillette with no, we

8:25at the end. Well, 10th field now, isn't it? Yeah, that is. You know, saying no to that guy, he proposed in about the most metal way possible. Uh, were they in a volcano? They were not where they was there a dragon breathing fire on them closer. Were they backstage doing big lines and drinking? No further away. He can't do that anymore. Oh, okay. He's, he's one of us. Oh, yeah. Old and retired from the partying. Yeah. Uh, I don't know. I give up. He proposed to her with a sign that could withstand water. Underwater during a shark dive. Oh, well sharks, which are kind of sharp, but still. Yeah, it's cool. It's pretty metal. I mean, if there were great whites around and they were in a shark cage, that would be different. Uh, it's not clear where on earth they were, but they were with whale sharks, which are considered gentle giants.

9:26They are. There's sharks, I guess technically, but they don't, they have teeth. Yeah, they're friendly. That's not the same. There were some cute pictures. Do you want to take a look at this? This is, was for her birthday trip. So there he is proposing to her. And then there's a carousel of pictures where there's the whale shark. Oh, yeah. See, they're very wide and so nice and friendly. That's it. Those are the only two picks. Uh, so congratulations. I'm sure they'll be married forever. Well, I would like to think that he's. Happy. She shared a photo of the whole proposal. Surprise swimming with whale sharks on Friday, the 13th with the most unique, special romantic proposal. A Pisces could ever imagine in a sea full of fish. We caught each other. 10:31And James and Adriana, Adriana, we're first spotted together in April of 2023. So they've been together a few years here. Good for them. Congratulations. I'm a, I'm a very big Metallica fan. I love that guy and his music. I wish him happiness. It's all you can really wish for, you know, people in relationships. I wish you happy. His music is a big part of my life. Well, there's a record album you sat down and poured over the liner notes. I had master of puppets in my dots in B210 and my Toyota, Celica on CD or in on cassette and, but it was on rupee. He's a guy that I have fumbled every time I've had a chance to meet him. I have either made myself look stupid or just totally froze up. I never had a chance. Yeah, I, I, I bet Lars, I've never had a chance to meet the others. Lars is very easy to talk. He loves talking, but James just kind of, he's just intimidating.

I actually think he's Mike Borden's best friend. Oh, that wouldn't be that surprising. No, those guys all know each other. A lot of these guys that are in big bands now were learning to play music at the same time, primus, those guys. Who's the bass player who died? Cliff. Yeah, he was, that was, he grew up with, with Cliff. Oh, he did. Yeah, they grew there like neighbors, a bass player in a drummer. Of course. What's Jenny's number?

Oh, but those were back in the days of the crank call. So you might write it down. I did a lot of, I thought I was a jerky boy. I would crank call people all the time. No more crank calling.

14:34There is no more of that. Nobody ever be, if I don't have you in my contacts, I'm not picking that phone call up, right? See about all the radio. Like we used to do, we'd sit after the show and just do crank calls. And I know until we got a good one, which is why when you get good ones now, it's like, hmm, it's an actor. Yeah. Okay. It's illegal to do it. I love doing it live on the air and seeing what would happen. Yeah. And I definitely, you called tons of people in the early days, called the White House five times only to be told by my boss. They've called us and you need to knock that off. Oh, oh. The secret service has taken notice. Yikes. I don't want that. All right. I was just, I figured, what? It's a big deal. Ella Langley. She had a big hit. She still has it. It's still in the top 10, I'm sure. It's called Choosing, Texas. And it tops the Billboard Hot 100 for, I think this is the third week it's going to be at number one. And she ties with Taylor Swift for a unique record.

15:36The most weeks at number one on the Hot 100, for a song by a woman that also hit number one on the Hot Country Songs list. Taylor doesn't chart the way she used to on the country song because she specifically said, I am not country. Do not put me on the country list. I'm on the Hot 100. For Taylor, it was a song called, we are never ever ever getting back together in 2012. Three weeks at number one on the country charts. Three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. I remember the announced though where she said, I'm going pop. What year did that happen? 2010. What do you think? I'll say 2009. 2014, that's a point for Vinnie. All right. And we're going to play a different game today. That's a, that is not that long ago. No. And she has taken over music in that time.

16:38A bum bob isn't here because we play a game on Wednesdays called Bridge the Gap. So I was looking around for like a true, and I found a trivial pursuit just decks of cards. Each one is from like the 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s. So I picked it up and I'm going to use it today. I want to try out some of these questions. So I'll use it for the daily game today. Great. Yeah, that'll be fun. We'll do like one round from each and you guys will get chances to steal and stuff. Why not, right? From all the different, all the different decades. It sounds very fun. That's the new thing I told you about first thing. Oh, that's what it was. Yeah, because I was going through it. So it was top mind. And I was like, wow, you're going to like it. Something new. I'm not disappointed. But I did, you know, when you said, oh, I've got a surprise. Something new for you. I was like, oh, yeah, no, nothing that good, Vin. Another game. Okay. Well, that's good too. Lizzo has announced her first children's book. It's called Lil Lizzo meets Sasha B. Fluton.

17:42And it's inspired by her flute playing and her own journey to music and self discovery. And it is actually a sort of a copy. She's Lizzo B. Fluton, Lizzo, sorry. Sasha B. Fluton. Sasha Beatrice Fluton. That's the character's name. And that's her alter image, alter ego, as opposed to Beyonce's Sasha fierce. She said she was inspired by, she's always had this kind of in her back pocket. Because Sasha fierce is Beyonce's alter ego. And it's, and Lizzo related to Beyonce's different personality. She was in college studying the flute. And she was, she's an amazingly talented person too. And she had to choose between the two sides of herself and the flute could be her own alter ego. Sasha fierce, Sasha flute. I'm looking for her last record release.

18:42Cause it seemed like she was about to come out with something. And I don't feel like we sought or heard it. Uh, you know, she, I don't know if she got canceled. She definitely went through some stuff. She went through some stuff where there were people who were on her dance troupe who were bummed by some, like fat shaming comments that she would make. I think she had taken them to strip clubs and stuff too and tried to force them in different situations. That's right then. That's, that's just what I remember telling me. But it looks like my face hurts from smiling is the third mixtape by American rapper and singer Lizzo. But that was in June of 25. Well, I suppose she's due for another record then. But right now she's, she is writing books. Okay. She's announced her first children's book. This is a story about finding your voice. Lil Lizzo meets Sasha B. Fluton. 22:53Uh, hello, Ukraine war. Yes. That's exactly the point. Three days, they say that we will flatten them, take little resources, reincorporate them back into our into our country. In a war will defeat Ukraine in two days. Oh, two days. Sure was the original statement. Hmm. And they've miscalculated hugely. That is actually, uh, really funny. I mean, it's not that funny because it's war and people are dying, right? But still, seriously, Russia, Moscow's war enters its fifth year. Oh my God, without a visible path to victory, as they comment on the United States, perhaps we just withdraw. Maybe you forgot the network in that war. They aren't, they aren't wrong, though, in that they did, they, as they say, I'm sure the United States thought that they would be winning this. They say, if they thought they could do this to Iran in a day or a few hours,

23:56they're probably now just realizing they miscalculated. Hmm. Yeah, all of this stuff, these guys, these wars, ah, please stop. Please, exactly. Anyway, so everyone, let's just stop. Like, worry about what's going on in your own country and like, just cut it out. Russia opened its mouth. Thanks, Russia. You're adorable. Thank you. This is kind of sad, but I guess it's the, the reality as we see AI. Oh, what do you got? Spread a wide, it's fingers are in everything now. Self driving semi trucks are coming and they're about to transform a $900 billion industry. So let me just tell you from my own experience, I've always known that the products we buy get to market from these big trucks we see on the roads. That's just the reality. They come and ship these tankers and then they, from there, they get into, put into trucks

24:57and they get spread out all over to the stores that we, it's called distribution. Yeah, and we really do take for granted. How are stuff getting there that are in these big trucks? We're like, oh, get off the road. That's your hair products. Yeah, that's that thing you ordered. That's your clothing, right? That's on its way to target or wherever. I got a buddy that works for the company that made these. He's been working there for years. They've been working on these, these self-driving semis for a year. And the thing about him is that they can drive all night. They don't, they don't need to ever stop. Take a break. It's going to change everything. It's from here to there here. Well, they will have to stop and recharge now or maybe they have a huge battery. That's true. Yeah. That's part of the technology they make is that. And I remember this when I was in Philadelphia and about to drive back to, back to California, San Francisco, specifically, as I was this guy shows up and he's putting my stuff on a truck. And he says, this is my new business. I'm launching this business. I'm going to, I got a truck and I'm going to become a long hauler.

26:00And I'm going to do this across the country back and forth. And this is going to be my living. I'm guy, this is my business. And I was like kind of high form and stoked and thought, that's scary. And a lot of time away from home and hard hours. But if you're someone that want, that's gone as of 2027, long hauling will no longer be something someone could get into where they make a living, feed their families and disappear for weeks on end. Well, that's, you know, the job. But yeah, the United States plans to keep on trucking. Just without humans, multiple companies say they'll roll, roll out fully driverless big rigs on the American highways come 2027. Aurora, Kodiak and Wabi are racing to eliminate drivers. A cost that represents up to 40, 40% of per mile trucking expenses.

27:02So this AI will just eliminate a lot of the profit loss. You know, there's always people who need to load and unload. Yeah, but they work for the company that at the place where right, they're not the driver. And if a company says, okay, we'll hire some people to do the loading and unloading, but we don't have to that 40% of the cost. The human, the human and the end, the rules. He just, you guys just said it. Guy can go all night. There's rules. Yeah. And newer rules, even because of the accident that happened with Tracy Morgan. That guy, it was a Walmart truck that the guy fell asleep, right? I don't remember all the details, but I know that those mistakes end up changing the way. So somebody might be like, I used to be able to go for three days straight. And then I would see, now you've got to get off the road and get some sleep.

28:05You should get off the road and get some sleep. And there's none of that you're driving it. I mean, like a missile. I mean, yeah, well, but now the missile will be driven by no one. I don't hate it. You don't hate it. I do worry about job loss. And I do worry about mostly the just the job loss. But I do feel like those will be less aggressive. They'll be able to go all night long. I don't know. I feel like maybe they're safer Aurora plans to grow from a handful of autonomous trucks to more than 200 by year's end, then thousands by 2027. The company recently launched a 1000 mile route between Fort Worth and Phoenix. That's typically that surpasses what human drivers can do without stopping due to work our limitations. Get off the road and get some sleep is the order.

29:07Well, not to mention, I got to eat. I got a pee. I got a, you know, there's a lot of human wings. You have to imagine many people as I described earlier built their business. On their ability to not stop and not sleep and not eat. I can do it. I'm sure power through all kinds of problems with addiction to meth and other. Mm hmm. Yes. I'm sure. Well, we've all seen smoking the bandit. That was a couple days. Uh, the, uh, I followed this lady truck driver on Instagram. Uh, it just, she has a dog and it's just kind of fun to see what their daily life is like. And they, she logs in like you have to log in. Once your hours are up, you have to, you have to stop driving like it. It is definitely very regulated now. As it should be. Well, it's going to change dramatically. And that person with the hope and a dream of starting their own little business, you know, their cross country hall. Mm hmm. That's over because they have eliminated human beings from the trucking business.

30:10Yikes. That's crazy. That is very, very crazy. But it's interesting to see even what the front end of these things has to look like. Like when you think about a truck, it's got a huge engine. And now I, so I assume, well, maybe they're not electric. It must be electric, right? I, I thought they were electric. Yeah. So I know the company that because you need almost nothing as long as you had the sensors all around the bottom of the rig. Like you wouldn't need a place for a person to sit. You wouldn't need an engine to use what they look like. I pulled. Yep. Oh, some of them are, they look at this one, though, this, look at that. Yeah, they're totally different. Oh, wow, there's a Tesla one. Yeah, it's a rig that does not have a big front end on it. Doesn't need seeping corners. Look at the one to the left of that. Look at that. There's nothing there. That's just they've loaded a, it's not even a falling wind container.

31:12Show you like, oh, there's nothing. I guess it looks like there's a portal on the side where someone could enter that area. But for the most part, we're talking about it's a rolling ship and container. It doesn't even have the front wheels. It's just the trailer part. That's crazy. They say these megawatt charging long haulers can go 300 to 500 plus mile ranges. Hmm. That doesn't sound like a lot. No, no. So they would stop down and probably do super charged. I'm sure there's, they're going to have to have some kind of network of super charged stations, specifically for these. That's what they're building out. They're building that stuff out right now. Wow. That's something, huh? Well, it's coming. You know, there's, well, I'm thinking about like, you know, how they make the wide right turn and then if you're stupid enough to be in them, beside them on the right hand side, you could get clipped at least for the human.

32:16Well, I guess they'll see it, right? They're not going to, they're probably, their whole thing is they, they have nothing but patients. I mean, patients that just, yeah, we almost just sit and wait until they, they're, it's clear for them to get over. They're, they're a little more aggressive than they have gotten a lot more aggressive. Yeah, but I just, this just happened to me. In fact, I took a picture of it. So I think it was, oh, what are you got? Hold on, I was driving home. I turned down one of the alleys to cut over to second, the third right here where we leave there, sorry, when we, where we leave. And I was going down an alley and there was a waymo coming at me. So it's, but then it tried to park and it was trying to park and it couldn't get it. And I'm waiting and the cars behind it are honking and it's just trying to park, but something is confounding it. I don't know what a visual. It's picking up. I don't know what's, but we all had to wait until it figured it out.

33:21Till it figured it out. It did. Oh, really? And it let us go by. Where's the photos? Is it just trying to parallel park? It was trying to parallel park. I would think they'd have that down, like no problem. Oh, here it is. So what am I looking at a video here? This is the front of my car. You see here? No, I didn't video it. This guy's trying to park. Those guys are honking and I'm the one with the full lane. They're all at blocking me from going straight through. It doesn't really look like there's any obstructions there for either. I don't know why it was tripping. So weird. There might maybe something on the ground. So crazy. Yeah. Looks like nothing. Yeah.
