You use the visits to get as much information as you can about guys that you maybe don't know a lot about. The player, like people in the scouting community will tell you, the players that go on an inordinate amount of visits are the players that have the most question marks attached to them. That's why these teams want to meet them, because they want to say, hey, like, so what are you really about? What about this? What about that? But if you're investing, and listen, I understand that you, you, you get this,

5:06this, the way this whole thing works. If you're investing a lot, a second round, a second overall picking a draft is immense. Right. Do you just want to have another visit with that guy? No, they know well, they already, they don't need to add any more information. There's nothing that could happen in that visit would sway them one way or the other. They met them, they met with them at the combine. I think they met with them at the pro day of Texas Tech. They've already done all the homework you could remember. Like, for an enemy of those who we know, he's been going one since what January. So the Jets basically have been on the clock since then, and they know it's going to be probably one of two guys. They've done all the homework you could possibly do. Do you think the Jets right now know who they're going to take? Yes, I do. You think unequivocally, they know who they're going to take. Yes, six days in, I would think so, absolutely. Because really, they have the number one picking the draft. That's basically what I just said, yeah. Because you know, you know exactly who's going one. Anybody else is available? Who is it you're going to go with?

6:07Yeah, drafts, I mean, the draft starts at two. Let's face drafts. Right. Right. It starts at two. And then Arizona. Listen, after two, we don't know what's going to happen. And that's what it's going to get fun. Because you know the Jets are going to take one of two guys. Arizona could go anywhere. Right. I've seen, I've seen love mock to them. I've seen Mao and Noan mock to them. I've seen, I mean, you name it. You've seen the, the guy the Jets don't get. Right. These are Bailey mock to them. Back to Bailey for a second, too. The other thing about it's in terms of like the homework and knowing and information on the player. Remember about David Bailey? Before he went to Texas Tech this past year, he was at Stanford prior to that. Yes. And who has not told us all the time? He was not very good at Stanford. But who has ties to Stanford? Frank Reich. Oh. Right. So they've already tapped into all those channels about getting everything they need to know about the player. And like I said, canceling a visit means absolutely nothing is to what their plans are or aren't about the second pick.

7:07And 16. It sounds like then it sounds like Simpson is not going to wind up on the Jets. Not at 16. I don't think no. I think the best case. And I don't think he'll be there at 33. Do you think if he's there at 33 that the Jets would snap mop or you think they're just not going to take one of the one of the bigger quarterbacks in this year's draft? If he's still there at 33, I'll tell you this. The show next Friday morning is going to be very entertaining. Right. Because think about it. Some people are going to feel strongly. Yes. Some people are going to feel strong. Well, let's face it. If you are the Jets and he's on the board at 33, think about the phone calls that Darren Muji is going to be getting from Thursday night all throughout the day Friday for some team to swoop up and take him. Like they could get it. They could get a premium pick for next year again. Absolutely. Absolutely. You know, so if they're not married to the quarterback and I guess and look, I think it's hypothetical because I don't think he's going to be there at 33. I totally agree with you. You're right. How entertaining and how much fodder would there be for next Friday show if he was still there and we start the second round next Friday evening?

8:14Whenever there is, whenever you're 33rd, like with the first pick of the second round, and you have the prospect of a quarterback that's still on the board, like that is you hit the lottery as a team. You've hit the lottery because even if you don't like him, you're going to get something form to move back a couple of stones. Totally. I don't, I don't think the jets are going to take. Listen, they might take Drew Aller, they might take Carson Beck. I don't, I don't think the jets are going to take their future quarterback in this year's draft. No, I don't think so because I don't think it was BS. What Aaron Glenn was saying a couple of weeks ago with the owners. I mean, he's like, they really, really think that they're in good hands for this year. Maybe even going into next season, having Gina Smith. What scares me, what scares me, doesn't scare me because I'm a giant fan, not a jets fan. What would scare me to death is that I draft really well. Right, I draft well and all these guys are producing and Gina is good and I win seven games. And now I can't get that quarterback next year. Why? You got three first-round picks.

9:15I don't care. You're cold. I can't, Dave. Dave, the Colts pick is going to be a top 10 pick next year. No, I don't know that that's true. Colts picks going to be a top 10 pick. Well, okay, even if you have nine, 11 and 16, if there's a team picking one, two, three, and those quarterbacks are clearly going to be top of the draft, you're not going to get those guys. But what if they need quarter, what if they don't need quarterback? Well, that's different, right? But what happens if Miami picks one or Arizona picks one or one of these, or Cleveland picks one. One of these seems it doesn't have a quarterback. That's it. Now you can't get them. It could happen. Again, remember, if it's sometimes in these drafts where you have multiple quarterbacks taken, like sometimes the first or second guy off the board isn't necessarily the best quarterback. Like what happened in 2018, right? Josh Allen. Lamar Jackson. Ready to go. Seven, Josh Allen? Seven or eight, something like that. Oh, God. Can you believe that? But he was what, the third quarterback. Right? Third.

10:15He's so good, too. Yeah. Have you, have you heard the rumbly, I think, I think the other Josh Allen also went seventh. Have you heard the rumblings, by the way, out of Baltimore? And I think Mel said this year today that if they don't go on a mass of run, and Lamar doesn't have a huge season, definitively, they will take a quarter back in next year's draft. Like first round early on quarterback in next year's draft. Did they, did they give him the contract extension? No. Still? I mean, they gave him one a couple of years ago, they haven't given to one now. So what does he still have left on his deal? How many more years? I don't know. I mean, well, think about it. You got a brand new head coach. So that's, that's also a question mark. Like nobody knows how good they're going to, like Jesse Minter is going to be as a head coach, right? What is the offense going to look like? Remember, the offensive coordinator has gone as well. You're, you're four of a five year deal. There you go. And, and he's, he's a little mercurial in the sense that he don't have an agent.

11:18Um, doesn't it? It's like mother handle like a lot of his stuff. So, right, you've heard all those type of whispers. And maybe, who knows if they have a disappointing season this year, maybe they do decide to go in a different direction. But it wasn't like they could possibly. It was, and it was met. We have the audio of Mel and someone else. I forget it was someone had like big time draft prognosticators said the same thing. Here's Mel saying that about the Ravens in Lamar. At this season, doesn't unfold and doesn't work out to the way they hoped, which is playoff Super Bowl. And Lamar doesn't get to the playoffs and play well, which he hasn't. And his career in the playoffs hasn't gone his way. Then I think they're going to start looking. And next year is the year. That's what he needs to do. He's going to be going to play off and get this team to a Super Bowl. And I have the kind of year we expect Lamar to have. I'm not saying Lamar can't. Lamar needs to. If he doesn't, and there's an injury or he doesn't get it done, then they're drafting a quarterback in the first round in 2027. Mark at that put it in pen. I mean, possibly. That's not like they could pot. It's like if and that AFC is a gauntlet, man.

12:19Well, but here's the other part about this too is from like, this is unsharted territory for the Baltimore Ravens, because Harpal has been there 20 years. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? So like, we don't know this version of the Ravens. We don't like they might they might go south. We don't know that you're a hundred percent. Let's get to the calls and then we'll get to the next. Sir, I did three this year's draft. next year I would push for the two if they're if they're kicking me out of year I would try to get in the second round. I'd want the higher pick next year too. Yeah I mean and I don't know you know in the in the last year for for Parsons you know they got the picks obviously Parsons is more desirable as a pass rusher but they also got back a pretty good player if one of these teams wants to just upgrade their D line and they're willing to kick back a real proven veteran you know that would be worth it too. Maybe you take a veteran guy back a runstopper to help our historically bad run defense. You had a pick to it. Maybe that's something they look at. So I it'll be very interesting to see what the giants do but the giants hold all the power in this thousand percent. They're off. Yeah you don't just give them away and I don't I look they're smarter. They're not going to happen. John Harmo's smart and Joe Shane is on an idiot and I'm just going to give him away. But you know what's funny

15:23better like so you still hear the the K von rumors they haven't gone anywhere know I you know supposedly he could be on the move. So how many guys are we like training off this defense? I mean those two right actually but it takes on better necessarily like would it would almost unless you want to be in really good this year and K von plays really well. Why would you not trade K von? I don't think give him away. I want to get fair value for him but I mean why would I keep him here? I'm not going to resign him. Right. So unless he's going to play really well that it's going to help me win quite a few games this season even if it's not now the trade him before the trade deadline you'd have to imagine you're going to trade him. No I just don't think they want to give him away for pennies on the dollar. And I agree with that. I don't think you want to give anybody away for pennies on the dollar. By the way right now all things being equal what what do you want at five sunny styles. Okay styles I'll give you my three styles would be one downs would be two and love would be three so

16:28you're you're all in on the defense might the defense stinks yeah no I think and I agree with you as well and I'll even I almost think that styles and downs are interchangeable they're like one in one a I'd be totally fine with either now in a perfect world I'd want to move in down to eight or nine and landing one of those guys and getting some more but if I took either of those guys at five I'd come away perfectly happy with the first the reason why like and again I don't know anything I'm just taking a guess the reason why they might be trending more downs is because you know they just brought in Tremaine Edmonds you know what I'm saying like he's still what's the shelf life of Tremaine Edmonds a couple I think you give a couple of years maybe good football because remember you just cut a Bobby O'Carrickay and and Harbaugh brought in Tremaine Edmonds and I understand sunny styles would be here a lot longer I get it but you're secondary stinks and it hasn't been good for years the linebackers are not good the the defense the line is a good player who

17:32Tremaine Edmonds is a good player he's a good player he's a good player but you corners are not good I mean Puff and a D bow and Greg Newsom are you wouldn't write home about those guys I mean we know what's his face is of banks is a disaster yeah your secondary needs a lot of work and look we know and and that's the thing with these defense with Harbaugh when you think back to his years with the Ravens Kyle Hamilton obviously a safety a chess piece you can move them all over the place yeah before that even remember when Eric Wettel came over to the Ravens after his years with the chargers of course like he had a couple of like pro bowl years with the Ravens like he was still like almost that sage veteran quarterback of the defense even in the secondary so Harbaugh values a safety that could be that type of an impactful player and that's why again I keep getting this feeling that it might be came about right and the the only negative that which is amazing and attest him to how good he is that I've heard about Caleb Downs is you just don't

18:34really want to take a safety that high not that he's not great like he's well prepared he I heard somebody talking this week said he never misses a tackle right he so it's not even a knock on him like he doesn't do this well the only negative I've heard is you don't want to take a safety at five well let me ask a question the last and it okay if people if people are so caught up on that and that's forced them to maybe not take safety is that high because it's not a glamorous but I mean Jamal Adams went in the top 10 right I mean he he had a lot of other stuff going on but I mean at times it was an impactful player six yeah Eric Barry went in the top 10 he was a good player I was not a good one though Eric Barry was a good player unfortunately he got sick he got it remember he had like leukemia or something with the chiefs but he was a pro bowl like all pro player before he got sick but he was he was a good player you don't have to worry at Tennessee all upset if the giants are Caleb
