Game time is brought to you by Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey because of when it's game time boys.

01It's Tullet time. We gotta workshop this man. Or we have to. Or we gotta go back to what we did. I looked right at. I thought about this on Friday. I'm not here to join this man. This is new to him. And I don't enjoy it. I don't know how you guys feel about it. It used to be fun. Now I don't look forward to it anymore. It's Tullet time. You know what? We have good recordings of it though. But then we wanted to do something live and now you guys don't seem to be on board. Who's you guys? It's more about you and Peter. I think when you did it last week, I thought I was right on time. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. When it's you two, I'm just being honest. I think in order for compliments to hit, you gotta want to, every once in a while be critical. I'm trying to be honest. You guys suck at it. Okay. Very poor. I'm very, very poor. Is that 1.75 second pause? Did that ruin it for you? No, but what one did is just the lack of try. Try. How about that? Especially out of people.

01Yeah. Alan's not good at it, but he tried. Damn. You don't try. No. Wow. Listen. That's the only thing that I can criticize you for. You should just take the L on this. It's not a big deal. Am I fighting that? What am I doing? Oh, yeah. I think I'd stung them. Oh, Alan. Yeah, I'm sitting here. It's going up. I'm not very good at it. I leaned in making an effort. I was going, you suck at it. Yeah. I don't make an effort. No, I'm not trying to motivate you. I'm not trying to motivate you. I'm trying to get you guys to stop it and let's go back to what we did before. Let's go back to the prerecords. Jacob Anthony. Yeah. See, Johnny. I'm. Yeah. Yeah. Why don't we just pick a good normal one and just go with I'm an I'm now annoyed. Why don't you just go with Marty McFly? We'll be mad at yourself. Because it's not good. I'm not telling you lies here. What didn't you like? Jacob Anthony. Am I telling any lies here? What didn't he like? My telling tales out of school.

01It's totally telling. Am I just being honest? He won. It hasn't been great. Thank you. And it seems like it's getting worse every time. Worse every time. Oh wow. I'm only. But Peter owns it because he doesn't want to do it. So by making this even worse, he's like great. Now I really don't have to do this. Nobody wants me to. Thank you. Anthony, the only person who knows me. I've seen it. You've watched it. Every time. I'm just going. No. It's tally time. Okay. Yeah. Look at attitude. Okay. I don't know why he can't take constructive criticism. Well. It hurts. It hurts. But I did. But I wanted the I am being honest. I think it's been awful. It's been brutal. Brutal. Yeah. Brutal. Yeah. Am I wrong? Okay. Wow. I just sat there in silence waiting for somebody to say something. I did. This used to be. I really would look forward to the top of the hour to see what would happen creatively. And you guys both just said, no, we're good. Okay. And then you get mad when I call you on it. Yeah. I would think you'd respect it. Yeah, I respect it. I was. Because I have not been trying. I was waiting for. Well, I would wait for me though. That's also now bad on you.

01Because if we're locked in. Yeah. We can now. Once I hear Don start to read. My brain still goes Don's doing the reading. I don't think I got to get ready for my part. Why not? Because when I, when I'm a little a cappella on the times when Don's, you know, you don't think we could pull off a Joe to see effort for Don. No. No. No. Because you haven't. And because like, where are we going on a while? I would bite my tongue. And where are we going? You know, like, what kind of telling time we're doing in sync? You never know. turns out, you never know. Somans Roger Mike or Noah. Back of the day. Right? But that's not as bad as any thing that I've done, I've not. No, I messed up. So, I tried to make the best out of the best. No. Wait. No one said a word then. No I paused. No, amen to drop out of set. That's how we criticize each other. Be kickin'. And now we do. And know there is a fat. I can't make a drop out of 10 seconds of silence. Two guys staring at each other. Yes, what are you doing?

01Was it that bad? I want to hear the last one. How big of a pause was this? You're being very, you know what he's being? That guy? He's being very lying. Oh, yeah, that's 1.5 to 1.75 seconds. Yeah, you're lying. You're lying. It wasn't the silence. It was the soundly represent. A lack of trying. Yeah. For me. There's a lot of people at fault here. One is done for the union. It's going to get better. Yeah, he keeps trying. One is, thank you. One is Peter for not just admitting guys. We've just got this because I'm just checked out. And Alan for waiting for Peter. Everybody's at fault in their own. Yeah, well, is that my first mistake? Yes. I at least was depending on the team. Something needs to change. I'm too good at teaming. This is our playroom. I'm never going to give up on you. That's how good of a team it I am. One, two, three. Let's be good. Who's playing by the way? Rainier shows the blue jackets with coverage immediately following us on 880 at 630. Walked in. It's kind of what it deserves today. Baltimore do the original triple. It's still triple blended in triple cast but you're at Iris Whiskey. Be sure to grab a tell them or do.

01Or try the new tell them or do honey during today's action glasses up to enjoying tell them or do responsibly with the devils and the range of struggling. Go ahead. Hawk is still alive because of the calendars who continue to maintain second place in the division. They've won five in a row. Big win last night. Lee scores late in regulation to get to from Florida. What a goal, by the way, by Andrew's late. But anybody criticizing him lately, you're not watching hockey. Matthew Schaefer has just continued to just impress 20 goals. First, I only did fence been to get to the 20 goal marks since Denny Poppin and that's not nobody. 85. I think was the last time he did it. That's 41 years ago. If it was a day. That's a long, long time ago. I wasn't sure which one you were going to use. If it was a day. Yeah. As opposed to what? To you and me. Oh, to you and me. It's 41 years ago. Listen, it's massive. And Greg Roshinsky from ESPN brought this up. He's like, I don't think there has been a first overall pick more impactful to his team since Ovechkin.

01Wow. But he's been, listen, you know, there's been great first overall picks, but the jump onto a team that is going to make the playoffs. Transform its fortunes and not just be a passenger. Just maybe one of the reasons why they're in the position that they're in is great stuff. And I'll ask you this. So so Sid and Ovechkin would be the two that you would say had impact. Yeah. But he said, oh, he said Ovechkin and Ovechkin and Ovechkin and Ovechkin and Ovechkin. Well, they didn't, well, they actually started. They came in the same year because they were drafted different years. But it was a lockout. They came in the same year. At the same time. Yeah. But here's a question for you. Wow. That's it. As somebody that knows the calendars and knows Lue Amarillo. Does this happen if Lue's still here? It's a great question. Does Lue let an 18 year old jump in? Get those minutes. Now, I think he'd play. Lue always had a thing. Draft picks. They start out in the minor leagues. Eventually come up. I think he would have been on the team. But would he have allowed Patrick Wad to have let him have the impact that he has at 18 years old?

04Would he put that much on his shoulders? Or would he have to treat him differently and say, listen, I think this kid could do it. So let's have him do it. Need Amar. How old was he? Oh, same. I looked it up. He played a few games this rookie year. But he didn't play the minor. Yeah. I think I want to. I look up. I'm trying to. I'm trying to. You know, bro, door was very young. Wasn't he 20? Mm-hmm. Right. Again, came up a little bit. Came up right in the year. But for a goal, yeah. I guess it's different. Because his first real full year was that, you know, not the block out 95 season. He did come up and he played. But they really got that chance for like play all the time. Remember, in the run in 94, he lost his job temporarily in the postseason to Chris Terrarian. Terrarian. Terrarian played the games in Boston because he played well there. So it took a few years before he was going to have that kind of an impact. Yeah. It's a tough question to answer. I really, you know, look, there's so much different about the team this year because, look, the first thing

10I want to do is say that Lou Lemurillo did an amazing job to get the islanders out of, you know, a funk that they were in where they sort of as good as they were in some years. You know, they couldn't get to the next step, whatever it was, right? Mm-hmm. And that's not to disparage Garth Snow because I thought Garth Snow did a tremendous job in the draft and rebuilding a franchise that had lost its way previously when they went from Mike Milbury to Neil Smith. And there was a lot of mess going on and Snow kind of got the turbulence out, right? And they became steady. People forget this was a God awful franchise. Like they were the jets of the NHL and I mean the New York jets. That's how bad they were. Bad ownership. They had bad, they just didn't do anything right. And it was always controversy. Then they figured out when they got Charles Wang but they had to, they went through a more of that turbulence time. And then Snow got them back to I guess being at least functional competitive and all that stuff.

11And Lou with his expertise and then bringing in Barry Trots took them to where they became a high level competitive team with a lot of Snow's draft picks now to give credit again to Snow. But what, so what Lou did is still not something you want to look back and say, if Lou were here, it wouldn't be this good. I don't want to ever say that. But yes, with Lou gone, a lot of the restrictions and rules came away and it I think does allow for an 18 year old to blossom. The older vets who might have been a little more frustrated with some of the strict rules. Like you see Ryan Pullock, a beard, long hair. You wouldn't have seen this a couple of years ago. So I think the short answer is probably not. But I still think he would have played at some point this year. But you, I don't know if you would have gotten a 20 goal season out of an 18 year old and doing what he's done. And for what, everything I've heard that as much as you don't, you want to say,

12there's no way one kid changes a whole franchise and I've heard there's something about his personality. Along with the talent, where guys just looked and go, we've got something special. And it does do something for a room. It does. Well, when you start realizing, and then just the mathematics of getting 20 goals from a defenseman. Oh, I mean, for a team that doesn't score a lot, they still don't score. I mean, well before he got to 20 goals, there was something early in the season that a lot of the vets recognized that seemed to rejuvenate the room. And that, that's just something that is special. And again, Patrick Wah recognized it. They had, you know, like there was some defenseman that were getting power play one minutes. They were getting most of the top minutes. And then you realize that, no, this is the better guy. And he's going to get the minutes. And vets who might have taken that personal and said, well, this kid taken my minutes. Instead, because of the type of person he is, Schaeffer, it made that transitional most seamless.

16Because they were so enthused by what he can be now to answer your question. Need a Meyer was 18. Okay. Taking third overall. And he played four games this working year with the levels. Four. Now, he played 35 games with the Canlo Blazers and the WHA. So he just stayed in the, in the Western. Oh, so they played him early and then when they had to send him back, they sent him back to the junior. Could you junior? Because remember, there's that rule. Right. You have to make that decision within the first, I think 10 games, right? Whatever it is. So they probably just decided early on. Just let him play. So that's a good comp, right? Because you're talking about a Hall of Fame defenseman. And then he played his first full year. The next year, 92, 93, 80 games, 11 goals, 29 assists, 40 points. But he never had a 20 goal season. That's a different league now. But still, you know, pretty, pretty amazing stuff from the islanders. And it looks like they're going to be the only representation it looks like of the local teams. How good can they be done? I think with that goal tending, they can, they, why not the conference finals?

22Really? Well, think about it. Right now, if they play, they play Pittsburgh. All right. I think Crosby will be back for the postseason. That's what it sounds. Four weeks, they said, right? Yeah. From four weeks from the injury, which was now, we're already, we can change out. Mm-hmm. Yeah. We can nine days out from the injury. Oh, my God. 10 days. Yeah. So we have to be ready for the playoffs. So that would be the matchup right now. They could be Pittsburgh. They can lose to Pittsburgh, but they could certainly be Pittsburgh. And then you would most likely hook up with Carolina. And, you know, Carolina has struggled in the second round of playoffs. Now, they have handled the islanders recently in years in the postseason, but not this islander team. So are you telling me you'd be completely shocked if they be Carolina? They'd be an underdog. They'd have Hawaii's disadvantage. But again, with Sirokin playing the ways, playing the way this team is coming together, and with Carolina having trouble sometimes trying to get deeper into playoffs, then now, when you're going up against, you know, Tampa or whoever comes out of the Atlantic division, why not?

23Honestly, would I pick them to go to the Stanley Cup Final? I would not, but I can't tell you I'd be sitting here completely shocked if they're playing Tampa in the conference final. Yeah. So in the bucket of teams that can get there, you'd put them in that bucket. Yeah. How could you not with that golden? Yeah. Right. Well, you got a dynamic defenseman and look at what Colorado is doing with an amazing defenseman. Columbus, they're limited offensively, but Warenski's one of the best defensemen in the league. He's got 20 goals. Yeah. You know, that's how you win initially, getting that kind of production. That's going to help. Now, they do struggle to score goals overall. You know, and we'll see if Sirokin can, you know, carry them, but why can he? He's one of the best gold tenders in the league. Yeah, there's no, there's no reason why you can't and they, what they had their biggest struggle last year. Remember, if the two periods, it always be a really competitive team. Third periods, they would melt down. It's the reverse this year. They've won five in a row. The last three, they've been down two goals and they've stormed back late and games to win.

24When last year, that was always the problem. They would be up two goals and they would always go into the third period thinking, how are they going to blow this one? It's amazing. Like, that to me is the biggest analytic to talk about when they say, what's the difference between this year's team and last year's team? Last year's team would build leads and blow them. This year's team, even if they're down, they're not out. Can I just start something that you got? As a sort of lapsed hockey fan. Do they mess up the structure of the league? Oh, yeah. Oh, please. This is a podcast. Oh, okay. It's seriously. I'm looking, I want to jump in. I want to participate with you guys, right? How much time you got? Let me just see where they're out in the standings. And I forgot because I haven't looked in a little while. How dumb looking at the wild card standings is. It's so annoying. Two gigantic divisions. And it's the top three from each division plus or two in the wild. What are we doing? Good. They will tell you, if Gary Batman was sitting to the right of ours. I'd slap him. He would say, so I'm just kidding. He would tell you that the playoffs increase as you get deeper.

30So obviously the first round, there might not be as much interest. And then second round, third round, you gain interest. Which makes sense. Deeper you get into the playoffs. So in the first round, they wanted to guarantee that you see more divisional matchups. Rivals. You'll see rivalry. So first round instead of a first round of, you know, islanders and senators, which isn't going to get any kind of a buzz, you'll get islanders, penguins, which you'll get a tremendous buzz. And you cross becoming on all that. Sure. So real quick. So because the way it's set up right now, the penguins are two in the metropolitan and the wild card standings. The way it's set up for playoffs standings. Right. And the islanders are three. They went into each other. Right. No, no, no, because I didn't check the standings today. The last I saw Pittsburgh was two, the islanders were three. Yeah, they would play each other in the divisional round in their bracket. Pittsburgh's two islanders, because you had said about the wild card. No, Carolin is in first. Penguins are two, islanders are three. Two plays three. The Carolina plays Boston.

31The Red Wings would play the lightning. And then the Sabers and the Canadians would match up. Because the division, the division. Carolina plays who? Carolina plays Boston because the division winners. Best division winner versus worst wild card. Get the wild card team. So they would leave the division. And then Tampa plays Detroit. Right. Because they're the best wild card. But the only reason that we see it, and it's a bracket form. Because everybody loves bracket. It's Anthony just hit the real reason. Is that they want stupid bracket. So you go to NHL dot com. I'm looking to Brakes fill out your practice. It's not everybody has a March. But that's not stopping. There's only one bracket should be one through eight. It's one to show you one through eight. Division winners are guaranteed the top two seats. Like it used to be. Let's go. Let's go. So let's roll up. Every take your bracket roll it up. Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, and so so then Buffalo would play Montreal. So that's the big divisional matchup. Yeah, the old Atlantic classic and then Pittsburgh and the Islanders. I mean, okay, so what? I'm just telling you Gary would tell you that Okay, and then not lead with the real reason in my mind. It's because you want a bracket people love go to any cell dot com fill out your bracket

38It's a bracket challenge can sell it. Yeah, you can win money. Go by my mom. We did do it on game We did it on game. It's you gave away jerseys. You know, we were prospered. Yeah, you're right. You stand for nothing. So So we would do the bracket challenge and not right out of my own wallet. I'd buy some yo-yo with Jersey Well, I shouldn't call it a yo-yo a listener a valued family member. Yo, yo, and I'd buy my jersey yo-yo to you and me because because we get caught up in it My as well. It's there. I don't like it should be one three. Hey listen if I had my I would go back to the old when a couple of years when they had one through 16 Make LA fly all it in New York who cares? But this is how they wanted they didn't want through 16 and for a couple of years last year they did it was 1980 They hold on. They said they said whales and Campbell be damned. Yeah, it's one through 16. Yeah, I think I think the two conference champions in the regular season got the one one and two So right, so hey you win Isn't that the incentive to have the best record to play the 16th theme but what what in the playoffs?

39Oh, I guess because they had a full bracket now they didn't love you could still run a full bracket You had a full 16 you could now they didn't want to brag anymore because it is unfair because you might have LA play the Rangers in the first round while the Allenders are playing the Devils and remember yo that year in 1980 the Islanders played the Kings in the first round Right play the keys but but your Stanley Cup final Was Islanders flyers right? So wouldn't that be good? Wouldn't it be amazing to have a format where there could be the possibility of a Stanley A final of Benchkin versus cross. Oh, you telling me that wouldn't be a good thing dream about it Now you might get ducks win a peg jets and you and you'd want to off It's such a great. I know it's a really interesting point though Dude this is this like a what you're right. This is a podcast across across all sports Like it is having the conferences separated in the tournament really the best thing for what you could do Obviously not in football. How many times should it have been the chiefs and the bills and the Super Bowl Like we've seen these years right now. I'm sorry. Does an eastern conference team in the NBA really deserve to play in the final

44Nationally same thing If you think about yeah But now that they're all playing each other. There's no it. There's no full-time interleague playing There's there's no there's no mystery any boy, especially because that part Yankees Red Sox in the world series my god Dodgers giant in the world theory the argument against it is it's travel Travel and it sort of makes the the regular season seem in some ways Silly or but I don't know why to me it makes it Well, that's all about it's all about it's all about ranking a one through six you're still ranking one through sixteen though But but at least you're right. I want to finish as high as I could because then I'm gonna get the lowest teams I'm gonna get the worst if I finish first. I'm gonna get the worst play off the great example But then you then then but but at that point get rid of conferences. Just have division. Here's your main conference group right if you are the Oklahoma City Thunder And you finish with the best record in the league. Yeah Do you want to play? This is already gonna be the Hawks you want the crap eastern team or do you want the Clippers or the Warriors? No, you want a crappy eastern team

44That's what you should get to right you earned it. You know, I mean Like that's the difference is that you go eight deep with teams over 500 in the west Like that like you want to eat in the Easter playing the college team Or a team that did that got the 10th seed was like I didn't really want it Wanted to be in the lottery, but somebody had to be here and the best thing about the one through eight in the NHL for the record Then when I was this big NHL fan as a kid growing up It not only was it one through eight, but it was the one sport. We're like you had to watch the one in the eight It was it was it wasn't necessarily That the one was gonna mop the eight yes They usually would but hockey was the one sport where you felt like anything could happen if you get in I get now that they want I set up to have these quote divisional battles, but like one kind of good team Can still give you bracket challenge But it also to me gives you The greater disparity of the best versus the worst in the first round And it creates more of a wide open league. Oh, what a fun interesting thing

45The whole thing versus gotta win the east gotta get out of the east gotta get out of the west If I'm in the west I'm like this ridiculous every year We got to go through a gauntlet of great teams to play and play a worse And you get a situation you get a situation like this year in the NHL the east is a lot stronger than the west And the same thing is in the NBA But now if you're going one through 16 You just gotta be the 16th best team you can't complain about all this I if I was in the west I would have gotten a lot of points, but this year because I'm stuck in the east So you get 10 teams out of one conference because It's better than the other teams now Yeah, the negative is you might get a first round match up where I got to fly across the country And then the team I would play in the next round didn't have to travel at all But that's the only negative I really see right and then you could really see some amazing Just what would you rather do have a shorter flight to play a better team or a longer flight to play a worse team longer flight Play a worse I would think so much and again just think about you just wait I know there's flyers. You didn't think anything of it at the time, but like now

45If you got a Stanley Cup final battle of Alberta Stanley Cup final between You know the Rangers and the devils for some reason or I Rangers Islanders and the con in the Stanley Cup Like hey conference finals is great, but that's that's the best. It's gonna be And then you get one of those like NBA avalanche Stanley Cup final the NBA Lucked out because they got magic and bird in different conferences And so they were able to play each other for the championship. Just a magic and old vets can cross me against each other Yeah, it would be something. Yeah, also. We didn't know we were gonna get into that I love that's the beauty of the show. It was a great talk. All right. Ah, can you guys believe it football seasons back oh Sorry, no, it's not but it's time for the NFL binge folks Here on this beautiful Monday and the NFL binge is brought to you by me All right, the Texans are acquiring running back David Montgomery in a trade with a lion's son of him Uh in exchange for offensive lineman juice Scruggs hell of a name juice Scruggs and two draft picks It's according to shifty the lines will receive a 2026 fourth round pick and a 2027 seventh round pick Uh also in some NFL trade news the Texans have agreed to move Starting right tackle tightest Howard to the Cleveland Browns for a lawn chair For the fifth for a fifth round pick I should say not a lawn chair

50um Howard will receive a three year 63 million dollar extension In exchange for now having a failed NFL career that will go nowhere. Oh, but 63 million is not bad to have your career be meeting Still he will strong. He will get to go He will get to go to Cleveland and protect uh A quarterback some guy with presumably a low number who throws the football presumably to Sean Watson Should do a number of individuals Bernie Cossar Brian Scype. I knew you'd go Scype next immediately That's where else are you gonna go I mean you don't have a lot to choose from now now we now we start to run out Joe Flacco You'll flacco Wow, I'm really a couch to see there you go there you go wait come on mayfield come on man I don't get a strange pull for Tim couch. I should he should Scype and couch Hmm God All right, and if I would now some cuts the chief seven form right tackle John Taylor

55That he'll be released before the start of the official season Commanders do the same with Marshawn Latimore that did not work out just one ever gonna be clear no Traded traded a bunch of draft picks for him. Yeah, he never really got right now team And it's not that I feel he's like Necessarily it couldn't be somewhere it just did not work out here at all commanders will save 18 and a half million dollars as a result of the cut the Vikings Have been working on their salary cap they let uh veteran running back Aaron Jones And defensive tackle javon hargrave know that they're gonna be out According to shifty and that will also save them 18 and a half million dollars None of them. What's the what's the cap over 300 million three hundred one point two million dollars And the Vikings were 43 million dollars over the cap over it So you know commanders by the way saving another 18. We're one of the best cap teams in the league right now You there's a chance we'll get anyone exciting god. It's been a long time. So I've gotten an exciting Like a truly exciting offseason pickup. I would love to

59You haven't had one in a while. I mean it did Dibo was fun. You know Dibo was a pick on nothing Dibo was it and by the way Dibo was pretty good on a season that was busted. Dibo's a nice player. I wasn't mad at Dibo But it's been a while since I've gotten like uh, you know A complete waste of money like a respectfully a Dion Sanders complete waste of money. Yeah What's his face? What's my man's name that the worst one of all time? Albert Haynesworth. Oh my god. That was a day That was I would say if you were if you were to say what acquisition and moment Represented us being the bottom of the barrel worst team in the league. I would say Haynesworth. What even the Jets one is out Like that to the redskins bad bad years. It's Haynesworth. They've only you see the Jets I can't think of like and god awful free agent as much as I think of just god awful draft picks Right, we do those two like I'm sure we can find one that you're like yeah that was terrible signing, but No, but both Washington and the Jets have this in common Of catching players at the end of their careers. Oh that I always felt like so

03And this is what I accused the Jets of back in the day like they signed Ronnie lot So Ronnie lot talks about his career They recorded a Jets training camp. So he's talking about his career wearing a Jetta And I said it feels like that's the reason they signed Leonard Marshall yep Art Monk. Yeah, but Marshall was part of the a lot of parts Bringing his guys in but there was but these are great Art Monks remember Brian Cox here for a minute. Yeah, right? That was to bring in character right and then and then Washington brought in Deon Sanders they brought in Oh, Bruce Smith. Oh, but Bruce and Bruce wasn't bad. Oh, yeah, it was way at the end But but but on the flip side We caught a great one in that run of terrible London Fletcher with the second half of London Fletcher's career He was 115 tackles a year. He was that and I told you. I think he does a great job on color Seriously, he no, he's grown on me the streaming Like once you accept the fact that he is like a screaming Homer and that's just who he is

06He is pretty entertaining isn't that football though? It is it is basically a football thing. That's every football You know yo yo broadcast no, but but the reason I but it's fun But I'm not I'm not judging him by the highlights. Beater will tell you kids are just born I can't sit home. I got to do stuff with the kids on Sunday And I'm like completely involved in a commander's game on the road because it's my three point play We were at the game show. So I'm listening to serious sex is somewhere listening to the you know the commanders Vikings game And in all the extra games it's entirety driving the grandma's house, you know Um, how about this though when you talk about horrible teams Making bad decisions with players How much does it speak to the greatness of a player? I'm gonna name a man Who spent you guys will get you guys have figured out my name this man Always was good. He's not gonna be a Hall of Famer or though

06Had he been on a better team. I guarantee he could have been always good, but always good Half career on the jets half on the redskins And yet managed to have a great career Great career half with the redskins half with the jets in the in the in the throws of them both being a joke Both being a joke basically. Uh, basically. I think when he was with the jets. They were a joke hard. I mean Yeah, cuz he wasn't there for the championship years. He was there before the championship years Oh John Reagan's no, no, but John but sure John Reagan too. I once saw a DSP waiting for an elevator He had 10 toes wearing sandals every one of his toes. We're pointing in a different direction But the reason I don't the reason I don't mean riggins is great Yes, but he was with the great redskins, so he didn't and he was on a good jet jet He was not on the super budget. He was on a jet sewer roll three. Yeah, he was on that team and so he got but so he's the opposite Yeah, he was great

07I was referring to Santana Moss I was one great career. I was half with the jets half with the redskins Both completely defunct the entire time. Yeah, I was wondering if that's where you were going But I was thinking like was he I don't remember with us. He was really yeah Like our best offensive player every year thousand yard kind of guy. He was good with the jets But it never like it didn't when they traded him for Le Verne as Colts who was basically a worse version of the same guy Yeah, yeah Let's hear from We're holding on. There's my audio. Here we go. Got a little piece audio here. Oh, there's Chris very seriously wound Did the third child in our family? Very serious. Is that for the key? That's how here's Chris Canty on a sportsman like Talking about the jets and the possibility of Them trying to make a move to get the number one pick if we're being honest more quarterbacks are ruined than made or the Raiders in a position where they can support a young franchise quarterback and not let him get the career knocked out of it Do you feel that confident about that offensive line? Do you feel that confident about the infrastructure within the organization? I'm just putting it out there at some point it gets to be too good of an offer to pass up on and I'm just pointing out the fact that if the jets

14Are insisted on getting a quarterback in this draft they have all the ammunition they would ever need They could offer a lot of first round draft picks it at some point whether it's three first rounders four first rounders Five first rounders over the next three for you at some point the raiders have to say yes That it's a such an interesting point. He's making because don't do it. The raiders don't have an offensive line The raiders could use this year to build up an offensive line And Fernando Mendoza is the number one pick and the number one quarterback available Not because he's one of the best quarterback prospects. We've seen Just because in this class that's where he is if I'm if I'm the raiders I do Is want to hesitate and the jets feel like What's it going to take it look if I'm Darren Mujee I'm calling them I don't know if you could say no to me But I'm going to call just to see can I get it for a good price if I if I believe but you might don't want to be good But if I think the better quarterbacks are coming out next year

16But how do you know you're going to be there Don that's the problem with this idea of punting till next season Is when you do that You have to not just have a bad year you have to have a really bad year and you've already had one Right, but you that's the problem you even even without trying to do it I know you know how difficult their schedule is right but done whatever your quarterback is isn't going to be very good Okay, but if you if that happens done Then you still will like you don't give up that pick You have a you have five first you have five picks you don't trade that one No, but keep yours for next year you trade all the other ones and if it does go so happen that Minosa's not the guy and you suck guess what you do You take the quarterback then too. Yeah, but I don't like doing that cardinals Cardinals didn't didn't work out either way no, but you know, it's but it happened though But I but I know it happened, but you also had a coaching change in the middle of that too Is that going to happen with the jets and also you know if you love them if you love Mendoza you do it

17Like you don't even think about next year. It's like hey, I love Mendoza So I'll do it. That's what it's got to be based on not like I think Mendoza might be pretty I'll do it. I need a quarterback. No, that's the exact reason why you don't do it And then those are feels like I know, but I put a bigger dilemma. What's that if you're the judge So this story is circulating now and it was interesting and then I felt guys are talking about it this morning um Ty Simpson is somebody that originally people thought was gonna be a first round pick Now he's sneaking into the first round in some of the mocks And the jets are like well, we have a second first rounder. I think it's 16 And if it's Pittsburgh at 21 if we like Simpson and we already have the stuff for him to raving about the jets in his meeting right well, maybe you Get him with that pick that's what I want to say the other day just to be safe if you really want him It'd be worth it if you like him and think he could be a project and no like I don't have to play him right away

17But he's there But here's something you have to worry about go ahead You pick at number two The Cleveland Browns pick at six now why the Cleveland Browns go ahead tell me Well The story about Ty Simpson's connection to new Browns coach Todd Monkin to start in a circular Monkin was at Georgia when he was recruiting Ty Simpson, but it goes deeper than that Todd Monkin and Ty Simpson's dad Jason Simpson Our close friends they've known each other for years They talk all the time In fact, when Monkin got the job in Cleveland Jason Simpson sent him a text to congratulate him and they've discovered Jason Simpson is a head coach at Tennessee Martin UT Martin As his name UTM. Yeah As opposed to a UTI so now keep in mind I mean your new head coach has Shedor has Dylan Gabriel has to show him Watson those are on my guys. I want my guy

17I know this kid Ty Simpson. I know what he can be we should get him What's stopping them from getting him at six and now of a sudden he's off the board Do the jets now have to worry about that and second question is should they Hmm Yeah, and lastly guys on the way out here Daniel Oscar first take talking about how young Jeremiah love is actually maybe the best player in the draft This young man put on an absolute show when it comes to physical talent Athletic ability at the combine to be his size and to run four three six coming off of his performance in his career at Notre Dame I know he's not going to go number one overall that is more than likely going to be for Nando Mendoza When it comes to best player in the draft, that's Jeremiah love Hmm best in the draft. No, listen to that about Caleb Downs too. It's a lot there. That'll do it for your carder last you too Who knew who knew we have so much in the NFL bitch

27We'll crown a champion It will roll right into a college hoops watch party the cap off The day and then you can sign up on ESPN New York's app Spots are limited rickelball madness brought to you by pickleball heaven that is standard of indoor pickleball One hundred nine one nine three seven seven six Alan had a really cool tease Um tons of calls to get to as well So you you want it you want to save that jump into it at five sure So we sort it's definitely it is pretty it is pretty interesting just you know talking about the future of quarterback Will they finally be able to get it right and the the challenges over the next couple of years with that But let's let's get to the busy phones a lot of people have been on hold for a while including Felicia in Mississippi Your ID SP in New York are you at Felicia? Hey guys I was I was in St. Louis. I could have got on a raft at the Mississippi River. I guess I eventually would end up to here. I know what it's taking a while Yeah, um, we're not super close to there But it's kind of funny my husband drives the truck and he drives up to Missouri every day like he's home every day

31But his run is from Memphis to up like through Missouri. So so you were you were near him. Okay Keep an eye on him for you Just in doles me for a moment with the with the elders Alan you kind of hit on it or you know already a lot of the points I was going to make But I'm 100% sold that it that it's shaper that has changed this team He just brought the level up from you know up from everybody just accountability You know last year like you said if we were down honestly even a goal going into the third of like where you know We're not coming back or if we went over time. I was like okay. At least we got a point. Thank God. We got a point now I am confident that we can come back from you know any deficit and when we tie it It's not just oh, let's play for the point. Let's let's win this And the team just has a totally different feel to it It's true No, but you can absolutely see it. I don't think it's hyperbole whatsoever And just by the way

31Some of the veteran players especially leaders on the team have talked about this kid It there is something about what he's brought into that locker room and a sense of belief and I've I've said this about every sport When you realize you got a guy like like we got a guy like there's like this dude's it like he got guy That changes everyone's perspective of there's somebody's this guy special And we can do special things with a player like this and I heard this at the beginning of the season I give credit to ever said it But it's smart usually you know what it was it was during training camp sheldon keepset that coach of the of the devils Usually teams to rely on young defensemen don't do well In the postseason Because they just overwhelmed in their kids. Oh, yeah, that might not be the case with him He seems to really own it doesn't get rattled doesn't get around now the postseason is a different animal I get it very physical But it doesn't feel like this kid's gonna be overwhelmed He's just getting better and stronger and brighter as the season goes on and come more confident

33Yeah, so and and let's see I understand why he didn't go to the Olympics. He's 18 years old They were they were stacked But you look at how that tournament went. I think he would have you would have you fit in there very nicely Yeah, and we saw a pocket of the season before the Olympics where opposing teams were kind of Gooning it up with him to see if they could rattle They were you know some cheap shots some extra physicality like there was some stuff happening And he was you know, he handled it. Yeah, didn't didn't start ducking out of his didn't start avoiding things He just kept playing. Yeah, so that was a good test. Yeah, he passed Yeah, the ice gets smaller in a playoff. I got it, you know But it'll be interesting to see I think it'll handle the fine. Let's go to add in new jersey. You're on ESPN New York. I had Hey, guys, how you doing good good Before you were talking about celebrity jet fans that have three for you that you missed. Okay, Michael imperially Spike Lee and a guy who I didn't even think like sports. Let me crab it

35Really? I don't count like Because he's a easy easy for all the god love But I I've seen him do giant stuff too. I've seen him that he's okay the only thing with the next it's all Nicks except, you know, the Brooklyn thing made it interesting with the net listen. He's a mess spike God love him, but you mean besides the next besides the next it's it's it's the other play for you on and who is the other one you said Michael imperially ready. I'm ready. I didn't I didn't know that that's that's not like that. That's a really good. No, that's not nothing I remember I remember at the bottom of the game which I was supposed to go to yeah He's performing it half time. Oh, yes, he was that and the interesting thing about that about the Jets He wrote a song about the Jets Yeah That was you know up not you know what it was a dad joke, but it wasn't That I want to get away. I just get away. They said no, just do get. He said are you sure far away wasn't American woman

38I'll tell you that no No, you have a great really nice in that video You know, that wasn't his song anyway, but you know what I mean, but it wasn't his song it's his cover Yeah, I know, but he didn't write so he's talking about writing song. Oh, so what it made sad wouldn't that that's um Yeah, it's funny because I took Nancy to that game. That was a Thanksgiving game And she always remembers that is the Lenny Kravitz game because she doesn't care about football but fumble No, but Lenny Kravitz with Lenny Kravitz. You remember And we're back again. We're back and here we are And here we are not about the music, but no, but it happens to be the perfect looking one of the most handsome rockers of all time When I gave you the list of the bands that she loves, you know the Beatles Hopefully with maggots not motivated by looks and it's not like she's like some super Lenny Kravitz fan I think she did mit to you. Who's who's a favorite beetle George, okay, and I think we can all agree that George is homely That's right homely

39Like of all the words Homely the word. That's only word. It's out of my wrong. He's not homely. I was gonna say it's between him and Ringo as far as like the most homely Oh, you went homely and I listen This is the same vibe that I was given with the telomore do like There's nothing wrong with honesty billy jose song about he's homely to He got bless him got bless him. He's turned into Mark Levin, but he's a homeless. He was not homeless Although he didn't really sell his home, but he's easy I wasn't the expense of living on the street. No, I think you think you think Billy had another spot what you're saying Thanks for listening to about Don Han and Rosenberg podcast.
