Chicago hot dogs, chili dogs, crab dip hot dogs, ballpark nachos, sausage and peppers, peanuts, cracker jacks, and many helmets with ice cream in it. What? That's crazy. Nobody at all. It's like being a kid again. Yeah. Is this the greatest day ever? Yeah. But see, I thought we needed a morale booster. This was actually planned because I thought we were going to be nominated for a sports Emmy. And then that was scenes coming up from the other day. I think a hug is happening. Oh. They're actually hugging. So I had planned this because I thought we were going to be nominated for a sports Emmy. And then we weren't. And then Dylan goes, should we still do this? I said, yes. Yes. But still we need it. We need it. It's a great day. Lots of recap from last night. We got games coming up later on tonight.
Your phone calls always welcome every day. And 8773DP show. Operator Tyler's sitting by. He'll take your phone call. Stad of the day brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the damn Patrick show. By the way, exciting news as well. We lost our partnership with Trigger. I mentioned that last week after 10 years, which is an eternity in this business to have a partner for 10 years. They were a great partner. But they decided that they were moving in a different direction. We respect that. And as soon as I said that, my sales team had three different companies reach out to be the new grilling partner for Meet Friday. And we'll let you know about that. Very excited. And... Oh, no German. No, no, no. Next week. I got to make sure that we finalized this. But there was a grilling company. And they said, hey, we never thought you guys would be free agents. And we're all in. And there's two other companies that we're talking to.
We'll have a Meet Friday, a grilling partner coming up next week. Alrighty. Let's see. Pull question. Play of the day. Stat of the day. All of that forthcoming. The first hour brought to you by the great folks at Z-Cliner, as the backroom guys will tell you, since they do most of their work while they're sitting in my Z-Cliner, engineered with restful sleep in mind, making it an ideal bed alternative. A healthy life starts with a healthy night's sleep. Visit Z-Cliner.com, Slice Dan Patrick today to find Z-Cliner at a store near you. All right. Recapping last night. Purdue over Texas at the buzzer. Iowa and Nebraska. What a strange finish that was. Illinois. Surprising Houston by 10. And Arizona looking. My Arizona Wildcats dominating Arkansas. 109 to 88. So we have basketball coming up tonight. And I have some point spreads for entertainment purposes only.
Duke minus six and a half against St. John's. Michigan minus eight and a half against Alabama. Iowa State minus three and a half against Tennessee. And Yukon minus one and a half against Michigan State. Now looking ahead to the elite eight odds. I was curious. You got Iowa and Illinois. Another big 10 matchup. Big 10's having a really nice tournament. And really nice year when you factor in Indiana football. And now you've got Purdue. Advancing Purdue is getting six and a half against Arizona. Iowa getting six and a half against Illinois. Seaton, what's the first hour poll question today? Got one here from Paul after last night's games. Which is worse. Too many players on the court are not enough players on the court. Wow. That's a tough one. Yeah, yeah, Paulie. So Iowa and Nebraska. I was making the comeback. I think there's like 58 seconds left. I was getting ready to in bounds. And there's some shuffling of players. And then you see a baseball pass.
And then the announcer say what happened? Here's Fred Hoyberg, the Nebraska head coach. Yes, Marvin. I have the sound too of the play by play. Yeah, let's do that. And then we'll have the coach. Marcus Lawrence. You put all that. Look at this pass. Oh my goodness. So curious. What happened? Well, that was a major defensive break down there. Well, they just don't guard Paul Garrison. And he's waving for it. How about the vision there? But you can gel trying to get back in the play. Wait a minute. I think Nebraska only had four defenders on the floor. Stan Van Gundy with the catch there. But here's Fred Hoyberg, Nebraska head coach on having only four players. Perink about 58 seconds left. They had that deep ball. The viral for the bucket. I think there were four players on the court. Like you say, what happened? It's the first time I went on that. You know, put that one on me.
It was a miscommunication. And you know, I'm the head coach. Put that one on me. There's some confusion online about if that's the rules. You're supposed to have five guys on the court. Where the official is supposed to hold the ball. Before the ball was penalty. Good question, Rob. And I've never been in a situation like that. I know they always count to make sure it is not six. I don't know the rule on that with four. But yeah, I mean, again, it was a miscommunication. And, you know, unfortunately, it happened. But that, you know, as far as the rule, I've never been a part of anything like that. So. Yeah. And, you know, I give coach credit, whether it was his fault or not, he was going to follow on the sword there. You don't want to blame one of your kids. And, you know, it was a great year for Nebraska. You know, when you consider that that is a football score, and what they did with basketball, and they were a good team from start to finish. And we thought it was going to be a great game. It turned out to be a great game going against Iowa. And it's just tough to end that way. Because if I said to Nebraska fans at the beginning of the year,
hey, you're going to go to the sweet 16, but you're going to lose in dramatic fashion. And you're going to lose to Iowa. You're still signing up for that. But this is your hated rival. And give credit to Iowa. They hung in there. They just lingered. They just lingered long enough. And they end up picking up the win. All righty, 8773DP show, email address dpadampatric.com, Twitter handle the DP show. Well, the big 10 is making a statement when you consider football and basketball. You got a couple of teams that can advance, a couple more big 10 teams that can advance tonight, Michigan State, Michigan. If I'm Greg Sanky in the SEC, and I'm watching this, and I go, OK, all right, you're kind of piling on here a little bit. You know, we can take Michigan or Ohio State winning an national title in football now in Indiana. And then we got basketball, basketball dominating. And a couple SEC teams bounced,
certainly with Arkansas. It was a great run for John Kelly Perry. But here's the hard part. You know, you're not going to have a cuff back next year. He's going into the NBA. That's the hard part. Because John has never had a problem recruiting. And we've talked about this. I've talked about this with him. Can you get players who are going to stay for two years or three years? Because I think the wave of the future is, these kids are going to make enough money to stay in college that they're not going to leave early and maybe be a second round pick. Or not get drafted. They might stay if they can make $500,000. Or somebody makes $750,000. And they'll stay next year. Or maybe they'll stay for two extra years. Your mid majors are going to lose their players. You know, their star player that might appear on the radar, then all of a sudden, you know, these big schools will swoop in and pick them up. You know, John still needs to be able to get that core
that can be there the next year. You want to have a cuff. He's a tremendous player. And he was wonderful throughout the tournament. The last tournament run I can remember for somebody like this, Steph Curry at Davidson. I think Steph scored a hundred points in the tournament. A cuff had around 90. I think he surpassed his eye on Williamson's debut with the NCAA tournament. But he's a great coach. When you think about it and look what's happening so far with March Madness. I mean, Tom is, though, one of the greatest coaches of all time, Patino. You can make an argument. There's no greater coach. Strategy-wise. And, you know, X's and O's than Rick Patino. And that's incorporating NBA and college. His ability to do what he does every place that he goes is really remarkable, unmatched. But you have, you know, Danny Hurley's got a couple of titles there. There are a lot of high-end coaches who have gotten this far.
And the tricky part is North Carolina is sitting there open. And you wonder what coach in the NCAA tournament might end up at North Carolina. Because it feels like, and I was told this yesterday, North Carolina wants to get out ahead of the Kansas situation because if Bill self steps down, who could then fill that void? And North Carolina knows you're kind of on the clock. You want to make sure you get your guy. You want to get your guy before that opening happens at Kansas. By the way, Bill Murray's son, Luke Murray. He's the offensive coordinator basically for UConn basketball. He's going to take the BC jump. Now, that's e-me because yesterday I had Dan Hurley on and I should have asked him, you know, are you prepared to lose Luke? And, you know, it was rumored there. I got caught up and ran out of time. And when we got done, I made it.
I should have asked him about that because, you know, you have this odd, you know, this tournament run and you're going to lose a really, really, really valuable person on that coaching staff. It's inevitable, but then, you know, I got the heads up that he was probably taking the BC job and I didn't ask. So that's on me. Yes, Ethan. Dan Hurley had you asked him probably would have started rubbing his eyes and say, I did, I just, you know, players come and go and they just, I, you know, I got to deal with what I could deal with. I can only control so much. You're right. Father wouldn't have allowed that. I know, but I should have still asked the question. And even though I probably know what his answer would be, I still should. But he's going to stay on with UConn. Oh, look at Marvin. All decked out in his husky gear. Come on, you got to stay ready. You should have to get ready. Okay. Come on. Oh, you're ready? It's game day. You're always ready. Come on. Always. Okay. And I'm a dying this. Okay. Barry me right in this. Really?
Yes. Okay. Like that's a verbal commitment. I'm going to sign a letter of intent too. Okay. All right. So I'll bury you in that. Oh, absolutely. Okay. All right. No questions. Is Rip Hamilton? Oh, it's a Rip Hamilton jersey. Come on now. Okay. Come on. Come on. Again, this guy is a paper, 15 footer by Rip Hamilton. Oh, wait, come off the screen. Yes, that's true. Set me a pic. I'll hit the 15 footer. Yes. Paul would it be more cool to be Khalid, Elamine a little more niche jersey? Mm. Mm. At Champs Sports in 1998, they weren't selling Khalid, Elamine dresses. This is $49 in 1998. Khalid, Elamine, what did he expect a round pic of the bulls? Yeah, he played like six months for the bulls. He did. He's built like Kirby Puckett. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. overweight, but he got busy. And he was a really good college player. He was a fun college player. Got busy off the court as well. Then he get pulled over. Yeah. Well, time to go.
Back when you weren't allowed to get pulled over with, I met a guy yesterday and he was showing off his car, beautiful BMW station wagon. And I said, and this is really nice. He said, yeah, there's only one problem. It smells like pot. I said, well, don't smoke in the car. He goes, no, I, we rent this out. And somebody smoked pot. So it's kind of absorbed in the weather. They lease it out. And I go, if you get pulled over, you're in trouble. Like it wreaked. And the guy go, I don't smoke, but I drive this. I've been driving this car for three weeks now. I'm like, does it get, you know, the fine Corinthian leather? Like it does, it gets absorbed there in the carpet. I don't know how much they're smoking there, but somebody maybe got hotboxed in that. I don't know how I got from. I don't mean to this. Once again, this show not scripted. Yes, Paul. I was wondering one thing about
college basketball. Do you think the schools that take these one and guns would prefer not to take the one and guns and have guys that stay like, you asked Andy Hurley yesterday, do you want these big names or you want guys for years and years? He said years and years. Like I was got a bunch of 21 year olds on the roster. Yeah, produce same way. Yeah. You get that experience. And I still believe in that. It's nice to have that freshman. But we've seen you got to have other players. You can have the freshman. I got to have, you know, some juniors and seniors in there because of these moments right now, March madness, because we've seen, you know, these freshmen and they're only there for six months. And they may be approaching it that way that it's not the end of the world if they don't win a title because they're going to the NBA. It's the end of the world to these Purdue kids who are going to, I mean, I've been there three or four years or the Nebraska players who have been there three or four years. Yes, Mark. It's a fine line. You want a really good college player,
but you don't want to NBA prospect. You don't want somebody that man. He can go in a lottery. You want somebody. You know what? If he got out, he'd be a late first at best, maybe second rounder. But you know what happens though, Marvin is these kids have so many people talking to them. It's like, man, you're going to, you're going to be a first on draft pick. You know, at worst, you'll be a second round draft pick. So they believe that and then you'll find a lot of these guys. And it's only two rounds. I mean, the draft used to be like eight or nine rounds. But now, you know, you got to decide, am I really ready to go or do I need another year? Hey, I can stay another year because they're going to pay me X amount of money. Yes, Mark. Yeah, the worst part is watching a kid that was projected to go lottery. And look, there's 30 kids that were being told, hey, you're a lottery pick. There's only 14 lottery picks. So after pick 14, it's like, oh, my gosh, what am I doing here? I could have been back in school making money, especially now with NIO. All right. We'll take a break to meet Friday. Moral is high. And we'll get to your phone calls coming up. We'll settle on our poll question
as well. Robbie Hummel, who has done an unbelievable job as an analyst for March Madness. He was there on the call with the Iowa Nebraska finish. And Robbie will join us a little bit later on. But your phone calls will get to those, settle on our poll question. We're back after this on the Dan Patrick show. Get ready to watch the pirates and Paul's schemes against the meds. And that ended quickly as far as Paul's schemes. He didn't get helped out by his team, certainly his center fielder. He gave up five earned in two thirds of an inning as the pirates got roughed up 11 seven. That's the shortest outing by raining saw young winner in his team's season opener in baseball history. No, not yet. Previous low was three innings shared by Tim Linsecom and Clayton Kershaw. Stand of the day brought to you by Benini American, the official trading
cards of the program. Okay, this is what I don't understand. It felt like that it should have been an error on O'Neal Cruz, the center fielder for the pirates. But okay, doesn't get his glove on the ball. He does start. He breaks in and then it goes over his head. Now India converted shortstop that now he's playing. He's a six seven shortstop. So now he's in the outfield. But schemes gets tagged with all of these earned run. I think his ERA is now 67.5. That's not going to hold I think it'll go down from there. But he's on pace. But I'm watching and I'm going, well, can't you have an error in judgment? Can the official scores say that's an error in judgment by this center fielder. Scheme's shouldn't been should not have been tagged with all those runs. Yes, Paul. You guys played baseball. It always felt like an error was a play that is routine gets blown by the fielder becomes an error. You know, O'Neal Cruz goes in and goes out. And if
you look at it, I think he would have caught the ball handily if he went out. According to MLB, misjudgment is not an error. So it's a triple. An error is in physical misplay and there's not physical misplay on that play. I got a problem with that. It looked like an error. It's an error in judgment. You should. I got a lot of things to ask the commissioner whenever he joins us again. I'm going to ask him about error in judgment. By the way, yesterday, we were asked about our favorite ballpark food and mine's really simple. I'm not a nacho guy. It's basically a hot dog in a beer. Like if you happen to grill the hot dog, throw a little mustard on there, give me a beer, draft beer. I'm good. I am good to go. You know, here's something I learned yesterday that a lot of stadiums don't like doing draft beer because there's so much, you know, about 30 percent that is wasted just from people trying to pour the beer is not pouring them correctly.
And therefore, they don't like to do draft beer, but I didn't realize that. I would think you would have people who'd be experienced enough. But no, there's a lot of spillage there is that that's what they would say. But yeah, just give me a hot dog. I'm good. Some mustard. I don't need anything else there. Todd, what did you, well, you love everything at a ballpark? I narrowed it down to hot dogs and nachos. I also mentioned something that wasn't part of an actual baseball stadium. I went with concessions. I went off the board with something I had at a basketball game once again. That was amazing. But that was at the timbrels, mavericks. Yes, I had no idea that you can get mac and cheese with slices of hot dog in the cup of mac and cheese. I was like, in heaven, I'm like, this is a thing. I got my mountain to it. I got my mac and cheese with hot dog. What's my seat? What about you, Marvin? Ballpark food. So I went to camping yards about 10 years ago. Had the crab cakes there? My one seat. I know it's kind of a cheat code, but from then on out, I was like, anytime I go there, crab cakes. I remember going to
Pac-Bale, now Oracle Park, and they had sushi. They had craft beer. This is when craft beer just came out. They might have had red hook on tap, and I had sushi. Not your normal experience at the ballpark. The IPA and a whatever role. Yes. I have a spicy tuna role, and something a little happy. Give me the berry bones role, please. People up in arms about Netflix. I was listening mad dog yesterday on his mad dog radio. He was apoplectic. I don't want James Winston involved in the broadcast. I get it. It's a one-off, maybe they're gearing up for when he retires, he'll be an NFL analyst. He's quirky, and maybe he'll be successful as an analyst. But you start to look
at everything. You know, berry bonds was there, of course, and everybody's like, oh, you want to hear from berry bonds? I don't. What's he going to tell you? Now, the thing is that when he said, I was a great teammate, and I said to myself, as I'm listening to this, I said, no, you weren't, because Berry told me that he wouldn't share information with his teammates, because as he said to me, they could be on another team next year. So not a good team. If you're going to have bonds on, you don't need to ask about steroids, but I would certainly want to ask about Jeff Kent, his teammate who's going into the Hall of Fame, and Berry's not. But I looked at Netflix as, okay, they're going to try really, really hard, and they did, and they brought out all the shiny objects that they have, and comedians, and wrestlers, and look at all the things that we do. I get it, and they're only going to do two more events affiliated with Major League Baseball,
and they weren't equipped for this. You know, getting the right people to do it, who do this on a regular, and that's my NBC. NBC gets the best schedule in football because they have the best technical people, and then you have the best broadcasters there. So it's no great surprise there, they do it better than anybody. But Netflix, this isn't what they do well, but they wanted to give their best, show you what we can do, and then down the road, Netflix is going to be involved in more sports. But like I didn't, I don't want to stand alone game on Netflix, but I do like a stand-alone opening day. But I, it didn't, it didn't, it didn't ruin my day. My bad dog, who's, you know, the gatekeeper from Major League Baseball, he's going crazy. I'm going, Chris, it's okay. It's just one game. And then he's, he's ranting about the canoes out in McCubby Cove. Like this is,
this is, we're done with this. This used to be a thing like 10, 15 years ago. I'm like, it's okay. You know, who has been out there in the canoe, Buddha and San Francisco, Buddha joins us now. Good morning, Buddha. What's on your mind? Nobody. Feliz día de los cadres señores. Cada día se superbó. I'm on no street sea. Bonjour to France. Champagne from the campaign. D.T., I got to admit calling in at 2 p.m. Instead of 6 a.m. is nice. Total game changer, man. This is awesome. Wait, where are you in France? Right now I'm in Paris and I'm waiting to get on a train to go down to Leone. And I'm going to go to Schatzembourg to pop. And I'm going to get on a cruise liner, go down the Roan River and learn some things and do some side visits. And get ready for your great picking, Chef Dan. You know what I mean? When I retire, you're going to hook me up. I'm going great picking. And in South of France. I got you. But I wanted to call India because you guys are
talking about the Bo Jackson thing this week. And to all the people that didn't listen, his welcome moment to the NFL after suffering his concussion and going to the wrong sideline. And then Steve Burline getting bow back on track, as he said, quote unquote, with this concussion question, go, Wednesday, Monday. And it was like, oh my god, it was like giving him a smelling salt man. But lastly, Dan, as far as the Emmys go, this show is not mid. As someone mentioned to you yesterday and to the Danettes, to the BRGs and to DP Nation, Winter Loose, we celebrate, as the shirt says, and the greatness of the DP show. It's been a stand for 20 years. And we all choose to tune in, watch, listen daily. So any shimmy DP, and I'll say it for the room, who's got it better than us. Nobody. Thank you, Buddha. Have fun over there. Buddha lives a pretty good life, though. Hey, single and traveling around over in France,
going to check out some champagne, bring it back to his restaurant, Gus in LA. Hi, Gus. Good morning, Mr. Parrot. Mr. Patrick, Mr. Patrick. It's too early. It's too early. I got home late from the game. Anyway, I hope you boys are having a great day, man. Great kickoff to the weekend. Boys, I was at opening day yesterday. I have never experienced an opening day, but it was arguably the greatest one. Everybody was there. Got Wolf Farrell driving in a Cadillac bull rider on the way in. That was great to see. It was, I told this to Tyler, and I wasn't sure if I was going to mention it or not, but you know what? I'm a proud godfather today, because my godson, you know, he discovered baseball last year, and my godson's autistic. And he's not full-special, but he is on the spectrum to where he doesn't really like crowds, so we were kind of nervous, but he loved the Dodgers. So it was, you know, 65,000 packed everything yesterday,
and to watch him to where he will not like crowds of 15 people, go nuts for every single run the Dodgers scored yesterday. He was high-fiving strangers. He is jumping up and down. He's like, he's counting down the Dodgers dogs that he's eating. He was loving everything. He was patriotic when the jets flew over. Greatest day of my life, boys. That's for it to watch my godson become a different person yesterday. And that was one of the best things to see, boys. Awesome. Thank you, Gus. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend. Ryan in Detroit. Hi, Ryan, what's on your mind today? Hey, good morning, Dan. A couple things for you. One, well, first those first two games last night were awesome. And with Illinois in the later game, I just, I wonder if they're on to something new with their recruiting strategy, getting
all those Eastern European folks. And then the second thing I had was I just couldn't watch the games last night with Kevin Harlan without thinking about Fritzy. It's crazy. The Razerbacks want to talk about it on 19-3 run for the Wildcats. This is college basketball's March Madness on True TV. Thank you. Thank you, Todd. Your face gets all red when you do your Kevin Harlan. I get a little lightheaded too. Oh, as soon as I, you know, I'm waiting for the game to come on and then boom, Kevin Harlan sets the scene for where they are. And I did think of you that are you imitating Kevin Harlan while Kevin Harlan is getting us ready for the day. I did do that a few times. And the wife doesn't like it very much. It was like, can you just watch the game and sit still? But you do the theme music as well. A 15-3 run for the Hawkeyes. This is March Madness on TV.
Russell in Philly. Good morning, Russell. What's on your mind today? Morning, Dan. Danette. Six, one, two, seven, ten. So I'm watching a Purdue game last night, an amazing game. But those big guys are giving me a lot of dream on greenfields. They were pretty dirty, pretty scrappy in there. And secondly, shout out to my family. So our mom got a two-day two-row shot. Boom with that three-run shot. Hope in a day. One, though. Let's go. Go birds. All right. Did you see the story of, uh, is it the Philly's player? Alex, uh, bomb. He's suing his parents. They mismanaged his money and he's suing them. So the Philly's third basement. Let me see if I can, uh, that's it. So he's suing, well, it's going to be an awkward Thanksgiving. He is suing his parents for $3 million, alleging that they funneled away muse,
his money while they were managing that. And the lawsuit reportedly was filed Wednesday. And, let's see. He opened up with a Homer yesterday. Let me see. What else? Anything else in here that stands out? Yeah. Bomb and his attorney are saying that the parents froze him out of four different accounts. Of course, the parents are saying that they, he has full access to the accounts. He's also saying they took, uh, converted a size-old amount of his money from those accounts for their own use. Yeah. I think when you've made 19 and you're wondering where three are, that's, that's a lot of money. I mean, $3 million is a lot of money anytime. Yes. But when it's, you know, 15, 20% of what you've made, that's significant. Allegedly, they have indicated they were billing their son for the management of his affairs at the rate of $50 per hour.
They are listed as the directors of the Alex Bomb Foundation on his website. They just got to vote that foundation, by the way. All signs that they know what they're doing with that money. And they know how to take it. Yeah. Wow. How does that work when next time you see them? Hey, Mom. Hey, Dad. Or maybe you don't see them anymore. Yes, Todd. I'd be bombed out of my parents to get to me. That's not good. I know what to do. Speaking of bombing. Oh, yes. Yes, Paul. You always see these videos. There's one that's out there where a guy made the bigs and he got drafted and he got like a $5 million bonus. And his parents opened up this letter that he paid off their mortgage and the parents are crying. Thanks for all those times. You took me to practice and travel teams. Well, these parents just said, listen, bypass that. You're going to pay for our house and we'll tell you about it. Yeah. There's a huge difference between saying mom and dad, I paid off your mortgage or mom and dad saying, Oh, you paid off our mortgage. Huge difference. Just try to help you out. By the way, you paid off our mortgage. Thank you. Shouldn't I? They sent a letter
to their son saying, Hey, look at what you did for us. Just wanted to say thank you. Yes, Paul. I do think it's the idea of having a relative manager money. That seems just like a bad decision in life that you would think that, well, who can I trust more than a relative? But if things go well, you could fire your business manager. You never hire somebody you can't fire. Right. Yeah, I see. Accurate. Thank you. Let's take a break here. What time? Do you start yelling at your kid is going to be 30 in August? One for four with a walk. Where's the money coming from? We got bills to pay. One for four with a walk and an error. I'm going to be 30. I gave you plenty of money. You stole so much of my money. You've got to stop striking out. Like he's a little like he's a little. No, no, no, I got it. I heard you're a man. I'm a professional. I think the bit is over. Is it over? Yeah, this bit is over. Okay. Why have you tried to bump? All right,
when you're back, I'm not knowing anymore. Which is where I'm speaking to an adult that way or a nine year old that way. You got a bunch or speaking to Todd in that way and I get both ends of that. Right. Who's going to be 30 on August 3rd? Thank you, John. All right, let me take a break. We got to play the day. More phone calls coming up right after this. Which is worse on the court. Too many players or not enough right now. Not enough has 76% of that vote. We got a couple of poll questions up here too. Are you going to be buried in your favorite team's gear? Yes or no. Right now, 77% of the audience say no. They will not be buried in their favorite team's gear. And how do you like your hot dogs? Three or more toppings or I wrote topics. Three or more topics or two or less. Two or less has about 74% of that vote too. What role do the officials play in saying to Nebraska you only have four players, Pauli? I got a hold of a college and active college ref. And if the college ref sees that there's only four players on the court, he is not supposed to warn the team. That would be helping one team over
the other. So from a competitive standpoint, you wouldn't warn the team. Now, if they had six players on the court, you would ding them and give them a technical. But if the team has four players on the court, the ref has no responsibility to warn anybody officially. And Pauli sends out a text right as it's happening. It's like, what are they doing? There's only four players. And then all of a sudden, you realize Nebraska can't do anything because the player who's going to come in can't come in. He tries to, you know, the official has to bring you in like a matrix D. And then all of a sudden, you got, I would go and win it. What's what it's throw it in, throw it in. Yes, Todd. But an official can do that. I know it's not made as well. Like in football, don't we see that all the time? If someone's up on the line, like receiver, offensive line, whatever they have an opportunity to give them a little wave, like, you know, step back a little bit. They're not obligated, right? But they don't warn you. You, you can check with them. But the official doesn't say if CD Lamb is lined up and he's off sides, they don't
go, hey, CD back up. So the player initiates that with the official. And that's my good. Okay. But I don't even know if officials acknowledge that. It's weird. When I watch that when you have, you know, a wide receiver, he's looking over and he's checking with the official. I don't know if I've seen the official go, hey, thumbs up or you're okay. Maybe it's a head nod. But in that, you know, that instance, they will not tell you unless you ask, you cannot give them a heads up and warn them. Jay and Delaware. Good morning. Jay. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan, always know it's a weekend when I hear Gus and, uh, boot his voices on the line. Hold on for a second, Jay. I got to make sure that door to the kitchen stays closed because I'm smelling those hot dogs and I'm not, I'm not going to make it till the end of the show. Yeah, Paulie. Dan, you don't have to make it to the end of the show. You're the boss. But if I can't make it, then everybody else can't make it because just like a baseball game,
you don't wait till the ninth inning to have your first hot dog or sausage. Yeah. This could be an anomaly day. Well, Satan's already said, hey, I'm blown through the stop sign. I might have five hot dogs today. Respectfully, Dan. I'm making it another three minutes. And then I'm having a hot dog. So at the top of the hour, correct. As soon as the show, this segment is over, putting my headphones down and I'm going to get in a hot dog. Okay. I don't respectfully. I'm not. Look, this is all about morale today. We had a rough week. If you want to have a mid show hot dog, you can have mid show hot dogs. Yes. Now, now I can't do mid show ice cream helmets. Can't do that. I can wait on that. Todd. That's fine. What about top of the 11 o'clock hour? Top of three. All right. You can have one dog per hour. Okay. One dog per hour. It's like fasting right now. How about on the half hour, 10 o'clock hot dog, 1030 ice cream,
11 o'clock, back to the. No. The ice cream helmets have to wait until the variant. What's our nachos status? The nachos last hour of the program. Sausage and peppers. I mean, you can't wait on that. Come on. Maybe hour, hour three. Top of hour three. Sausage and peppers. Gotta do it. Okay. How about this? Top of okay. Hot dog coming up at top of this hour. Top of next hour, sausage and peppers. Great. 11 30 Eastern time crab dip. And then we can have ice cream in our helmets at the end of the show. Yeah. Good plan. Good plan. It's just good management. More albums. All that is. That's just good management. Thank you. Thank you. Come up with once again, I had this planned. I thought, you know what? We're going to get nominated for a sports Emmy and Friday. We're going to have a big blow out and we're going to have
all of our, you know, ballpark foods that we love. This is the year. Seven times the charm. Lucky number seven. This is the one we're doing. And then Dylan is shopping for all of this. He's getting our miniature helmets. Like he got you a Yankee helmet, Paulia Cubs helmet, Marvin of Blue J's helmet, Todd and Astros helmet, Mia Reds helmet. And I said, no, you know, and then he goes, uh, since we didn't get nominated, should we have this? I go, no, we need this now more than ever, I think. But, um, yeah, he was buying all this stuff earlier in the week. Alrighty. One hour in the books. Two more to go. We always have five men on the floor with this team. Fritzie, Martin. That was very clever. Thank you. It's not that in there. Paulie. Hot dog time, guys. Hot dog time in five, four, three, two, one. This is an ad for the active cash credit card from Wells Fargo.
