And we are back at it on this Thursday the 12th day of March. It is the Ben Mallor Show podcast. It's a radio show that's a podcast and a podcast that's a radio show. It's unbelievable. And here in our number one on this Thursday the Ravens going from having Max Crosby in the palm of their hand to trade Hendrickson is this an upgrade, a downgrade or a lateral move. Also, is Ravens GM Mike DeCosta claiming that he's having deep regrets over the bot Crosby trade believable? Or is this team thinking, you know, this is kind of the team thinking that we're all stupid again? All right, the Ravens are like, ah, you're much idiots.
Also, with defensive end, Bradley Chubb coming on board. Did the bills just by a lemon or a mango? We'll talk about that as well right now. Get aboard. Chew, chew. You will not get out foxed here on our number one of the Ben Mallor Show. Well, it is not. It is not what you think it is. No, well this, this is what you think it is. But it is not what you think it is. Welcome in the beginning of another night of the Ben Mallor Show. As we are in the air everywhere. That's right, in partnership. This is a partnership as we waddle with random penguins. Coast to coast, border to border and beyond on the vast and super abundantly powerful. Microphones of FSR emanating life.
Don't wash. The mouthwash of gas baggery. And the world famous Fox Sports Radio Studios where big Greg and Iowa with our starting offensive lineman reminds us that this hour made possible by Tire Rack. They are going to drive in the air for free. Back by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack dot com. The way the tire buying should be. So, or lead this hour. We go back to the well one more time in free agency. In the NFL players moving around. A lot of musical chairs going on.
The Mojo has been kicked in Vegas by the Ravens and it is official. I had a dream. Not a good dream, but I had a dream on a previous episode. Of this show. The dream was that the Ravens were going to totally just screw over the Raiders and the entire NFL here with their master plan. And sure enough it has happened. The Ravens were able to create the horn swaggle of the football world, the people in a lather, in an absolute lather over what they did in Baltimore. So, if you've not been following this, I don't know how you could have missed it if you love the transaction. This is a hum dinger of a story. So, the Ravens we are told agreed to sign free agent defensive end edge rusher and the Ravens. So, Hendrickson stays in the
division, goes to Baltimore. It's a shady pivot after they snaked their way. They being the Ravens out out of the Max Crosby trade with Vegas. Hendrickson gets a four-year contract worth up to my favorite term this time of the year is up to it's like when you go up to $5% off and then you're like, well, there's nothing off. Actually, it's up to it's not. Yeah. All right. So, up to $112 million and actually can be worth more than that with incentives in really what you worry about is the guaranteed money is what you worry about and the guaranteed money 60 million fully guaranteed 60 million fully guaranteed and he got a cartoon-sized cheque trade from the business there in Maryland for $20 million as a signing bow. Slightly more than I got when
I resigned my latest deal here at Fox Sports Radio. Just a little bit more than I got. Just a just a little bit. Yeah. All right. So, that is a good jumping all point. Let us discuss that. Let's get to the story here. And the question, the Ravens going from Max Crosby who they had even though he never played for them and was technically never on the roster he had Max Crosby in the palm of their hand. They let Crosby go. They tossed him out to Nevada and now Tray Hendrickson is who they've chosen. Is this an upgrade, a downgrade or a lateral move? Again, going from what you assume was going to be Max Crosby to Tray Hendrickson is that an upgrade, downgrade or a lateral move? So, I've got Starbucks, Hollywood remake, and floppy disc. And we will combine all of these things together and we will hit the sawdust trail is what we're going to do. All right. So, hey, many people say, well, this is just
a lateral move. It's brilliant because they keep the draft picks and so it's not a downgrade, not even an upgrade, but it's a lateral move. So, I used the Malar machine here, the Malar machine, and I typed in all the information there, and the arrow on this one is pointing towards downgrade. This is actually a downgrade. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The Malar machine is never wrong. It is a downgrade and you know it. You do not pretend. You know it. The Ravens they had Max Crosby a pocket collapsing, run stuffing, tarantula of a human being, and they got cold feet. They got cold feet, and they didn't finish it. They didn't finish it. It's kind of like ordering a coffee, and you wanted, I'm not coffee drinker, but
you wanted Starbucks, right? So, you want Starbucks, and then you settled for Sunbox. Now, there's a place in China. That ripped off Starbucks. They call it Sunbox. It's a little coffee shop there with the Starbucks logo, but instead of Starbucks, it's Sunbox. Yeah, looks, looks the same in the cup, and there's only a couple of letters off. And I'm imagining if you're a coffee drinker, that would be very disappointing. There would be a lot of disappointment. Tastes like disappointment and all that. Now Crosby, who is well-rounded, we've talked about this in previous years. He has one speed, one speed, and plays all the time, and he's being shamed because he's played a lot. Because the nerds don't like that. He's played too much football. Oh my God, a guy wants to play football. Let's shame him for that. Meanwhile, on the other side, you got Trey Hendrickson.
Now, he does not play the run. He treats that like a suggestion to play the run. And here's the irony of this whole episode, and why the Ravens are a bunch of blithering idiots. Well, check that. The people that believe what the Ravens are saying are blithering idiots. Because if you look at the medical chart on Trey Hendrickson, you look at that, and he is essentially being held together by tape, Scotch tape. And they're worried about it. However, wait until the Ravens see Trey Hendrickson's chronic back issue is hip issue, and yeah. Now, this is validation. It is not not a conspiracy theory if it's true. So it's a conspiracy theory. Well, no, it's been, it's true. The Ravens just did the thing that you said, well,
it would be the conspiracy. Well, they did it, so it's true. All right. Now, a lot of reaction. We'll turn the page. Your lot of reaction to the GM there in Baltimore. Eric DeCosta is his name. Eric DeCosta. And we have some sound from him. Here is DeCosta. Let's play cut two first. Here's DeCosta saying that he wanted both Trey Hendrickson and Crosby at the same time. Take a look. In terms of Trey, we came to a point where we were trying the best way for us to get better as a football team. Trey kind of made a lot of sense as a possible guy to look at. So we started some discussions with, with he and his agent, thinking that potentially we'd have two past rushers on the defense line on both sides of the line. Again, I think it was disappointing to us and probably in a way, you know, disappointing probably to Trey as well. All right. So that was the bull crap on Trey Hendrickson. He's got a nice waterfront
home in Lincoln, Nebraska right on the ocean. Here is DeCosta, Eric DeCosta, GM, Baltimore Ravens here. This is the one that has gone viral, I believe. Eric DeCosta, he wants you to know what a sob story this whole episode is for the Ravens. Nobody is more upset about this than me, gutted by it actually. I regret for me, but we will move on as a football team. And I think there's many, many opportunities for us to grow as a team, to become a team that we want to be. All right. So this whole thing lasted like 19 minutes. DeCosta at times got relatively emotional, didn't sound like it there. As you heard, the sound bite, trying to reach a somber tone. And he attempted multiple times to push back on the narrative that the Ravens had buyers from Morrison. That's why they hit the eject button on the on the trade. We have a long, let's play a long one. Why not? We're here. We've got nothing else going on. Here's a longer version of Eric DeCosta
and let's listen. I mean, I understand it. You know, I understand it. We live in that age of skepticism and people question, especially people that don't really know me or know the Ravens culture and the Ravens organization. So I understand it. As I said at the beginning, we've got a responsibility, I've got a responsibility to the Ravens, to this community, to our fans and to Steve to do what we think is best for the club. That's what we always try to do. Every decision we make is based on this idea. It's just the best thing for the Ravens. Very, very challenging. Again, I understand how people might maybe from the far would feel that way. But nobody is more upset about this than me, gutted by it, actually. And so a regret, a big regret for me. But we will move on as a football team and I think there's many, many opportunities for us to grow as a team, to become a better team, to build a roster, and to be the team that we want to be. Okay. Wow. A question. Is what you just heard?
Is this Ravens GM Mike DeCosta or Eric DeCosta? It was my or Mike. I used to work with a guy named Mike DeCosta. But Eric DeCosta, all right, is the GM there. Having deep regrets over the botched Max Crosby trade. Is the GM DeCosta there? Is it believable? Or is this just the team thinking that the fan base is really stupid? So the arrow, on this one, the arrow is pointing directly at the Baltimore GM here who must believe the fan base is feeble minded and it's possible they are. I don't know, but what a, what a Greek tragedy this is. Unless it's not. I mean, we have a little tiny violin out and crocodile tears and all that for Eric DeCosta, the GM there. You know what this is? It's another Hollywood remake. Yeah, it's another Hollywood remake
in the late great Robin Williams comedy actor Robin Williams, the classic The Dead Poet Society. They've changed the manuscript and tells the story of an NFL GM who inspires his fans and players through the teachings of the ancient work of Skulled Duggery. Because this is Skulled Duggery. DeCosta tried to run the Okidok and it worked, but he got called out on it, right? He also talked both sides of his mouth. He talked about both sides of his mouth. As you heard in the soundbite, he said we wanted to do what's best, we have to do what's best for the club. And then on the other hand, he essentially said nobody was hurt more than me. So that begs the question, if everything was on the up and up here, if everything was kosher, why the Shakespearean tragedy routine? Why would you be hurt? You did everything right? Why the personal regret? Now this sounds like a guy
that got caught at the crime scene holding a machete covered in blood, a bloody machete. And you can't see this because we're on radio, but the body language, the body language was screaming louder than a referee that did not realize the microphone was on and was just, yeah, there was a lot of blinking, there was some rocking back and forth, those are dead, giveaways, nervous energy, straight out of the FBI handbook to spot a liar. And on the swindler spectrum, on the spindler spectrum, the swindler spectrum, this news conference registered somewhere between used car salesmen and a barracuda circling the chum bucket. The Ravens DM there is just hoping, hoping that the people that are his customers are so dumb that they will buy this.
Enough of them will buy this and that's all you need. All right, now the last word here, Buffalo, here we go, Buffalo, the bills did not get trade, Hendricks. And we know that, at least in less, Hendricks and bills out of the contract. So they went to the Hail Mary card, Buffalo did add a name free agent, did make a move here. We are under the understanding here that the Buffalo bills have agreed to terms with linebacker Bradley Chubb. Chubb a love love. Bradley Chubb former Bronco Bradley Chubb gets three years and 34.5 million to join a defense that is not exactly a well oiled machine in Buffalo. Yeah, so quite, so he stays and another guy staying in the division goes from the dolphins to the bills question with defensive and Bradley Chubb coming on board
did the bills just by a lemon or a mango? What do they buy? All right, so I, on this one I had on my scorecard I wrote down lemon head. It's not you won't get a lemon. They got a lemon. Now is this a 1984 you go with a new paint job? I'm not going to go that far. However, you get it. Well, the resume. If you only look at the top part of the resume, it looks pretty good. A couple years back this guy was amazing. Bradley Chubb was an absolute monster masher. A monster masher. World beater, all that stuff. And he's had multiple major injuries to clean up stuff. The biggest would be oh my aching knee. Oh my god, my knee. That would be the big one. He's also
past 30. Oh my god, a player 30. In that business, they get a little testy when you get around the age of 30 and you play a position like that. And so you look at this and you're like, well, it's like Buffalo went out and bought a computer. And then you're like, well, is it the brand new laptop? No, no, no, no. They bought a computer with a floppy disk drive and they're going to call it cutting edge. And they're going to pay the guy, you know, 30 guaranteed or whatever it is, 43 million total. So the performance, he missed a year, came back, played last year, was not all that great. So the category, the basket that Bradley Chubb goes into, big name, little game at this point. It's not that we always care what they say. The point
Dexter crowd, they looked at the metrics and the analytics and they didn't like what they saw. The pass rush win rate, very important, unless it's not. That was not good. Less than 8%. And he had been in the 20% range. So he's lost a lot. That's 14th percentile. So not a game record with the dolphins last year. And so the theory is, this is another player, we talked about the bills, who don't exactly sign free agents and sing kumbaya. When these guys arrive there, and so this, unless proven wrong, you look at Chubb, you're like, the law is there, the law of diminishing returns. And he's now a seven or eight-sack guy who's masquerading and living off what he did long ago. And so Buffalo is paying for the ghost of Bradley Chubb. And the real one,
the real one is no longer driving on the auto-bond. The real one is driving in a school zone. And the speed limit is 25 miles an hour. And that's it. So we'll see how that goes. Very few people in the history of the world have moved from Miami to Buffalo, to live in Buffalo after living in Miami. And Chubb is one of those few. The hearty souls that have done that, and that tells you that nobody else in a warmer climate offered him anywhere close to what the Buffalo bills did or else he would be somewhere else. Bill Miller and you, it is the bedmaller show as we shmoos together. Hang out here. Under the cover of Darkness Remember, we're not part of the mainstream. Mainstream in radio is 6am to 6pm. I'll fire it up on there. It should be a lot of reaction to the nominees. Always a polarizing time. Always a polarizing time when the nominees are announced. That's at Ben Miller. Lorraine is in the hissy. You can say hello to her at FSR Tech Queen in the his house. And Kuba loop at a Bronco fan. That's a Bronco fan. Your comments can and will be used against you in the court of sports radio. So please act accordingly. Back to it. All right, nominees are coming up. nominees are coming up. Andy in Lionel Lakes, Minnesota says, I've got the steering wheel in one hand popcorn in the other. I'm ready for the nominees. This is just like anticipation of my powerball numbers being read. That's a good doppelganger. Late night drug testers says, when asking whether chubble up love was a lemon or a mango, I was thinking you would go with the diced mango like they sell at Costco.
Dicey higher by Buffalo for sure. Alf, the alien alpiner writes in says, speaking of buyers remorse, this reminds me of that one time when I called into my favorite radio show to rip an elitist producer of a live YouTube show only to have my hero bury me on over six hundred radio stations. Caller remorse. Let's forget and long ago. I don't know what you're talking about there. Alfa, nobody heard that. No one was paying attention. Ryan in San Diego writes and says, hey, Ben, I missed the show last night. However, I did listen to the podcast. That's allowed. That is allowed. We allow that. You don't have to have perfect attendance. If you missed the live show, listen to the podcast. If you listen to the podcast and miss the podcast, listen to the live show. He said phenomenal monologue, Ryan in San Diego, white trade, crossbe for the 14th pick. And more likely a late first round in 2027.
And also discussing Atari. And there's a bunch of microvision baseball stuff. Can I hear the autumn Raiders can't win? Well, yeah, we have the autumn. You want the autumn wind sound? On my version. Do we have my version? I don't care. I don't want the other version. My version, the autumn wind. Alfa, Brandon Troofa's is so good. No, no, no, we don't want. He didn't work here. He quit. Autumn wind is a Raider. Yeah, let's get my version. Otherwise, don't play it. And not a burner right since it's the Ravens season. Oh, I haven't heard you ready. All right. All right, go ahead. Yeah, go ahead. The autumn wind is a pirate blustering in from sea. With a roller king song he sweeps along swaggering boisterously. His face is weather beaten. He wears a hooded sash where they silver a hat about his head and a bristling black mustache. That's pretty good, huh? Let me keep going. Yeah, go ahead. All right, go ahead. Oh, that's what we're going to bust right now. As he storms the country, a villain big and bold.
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake. As he robs them of their gold, the autumn wind is a Raider pillaging just for fun. He'll knock you around and upside down and laugh when he's conquered and won. Yeah, there you go. All right, now, well, that's got to be triggering for all those middle-aged loser Raider fans that still think it's like 1982 and they had a good team or something like that. They're a very defensive, very defensive fanbase. It's kind of fun to pick on the Raiders because the fanbase, there's a bunch of them that don't realize they have been man-handled for 20 years at an entire generation. Have you been getting DMs from Mike and Tucson? No, I've always seen you. As he upsets with me, he's been DMing me with exactly what you're describing, this delusional Raiders fan stuff.
Oh, yeah, no, no, I don't go on social media during the day, but I'll go on before the show and I'll check it. I might sporadically pass, like I'd never go on during the day, but I usually try to stay off that because it's toxic. Yeah, the Raiders have stunk the high heaven and I've just pointed it out, right? I'm just merely pointing out, hey, you live in Loserville and these guys are all middle-aged dudes. They all look the same and they're like, oh, no, we're good. You don't know what you're talking about. You're all in it. I always get mad at me for the air guy when he's saying my DMs, but he messaged me saying he said, Fernando is a better quarterback today than Bonix. No, he's been sending me that, but well, that's because he hasn't played a game yet. Wait till he plays a game. Yeah, it's fun. You know, it's not, I goof on the Jets. I goof on everybody. That's what we do. We goof, we're a bunch of goofs here, and I goof on the Jets, and their fan base is so beaten down.
Their fans are like, we totally expect whoever we get to underperform. Like whoever the Jets draft, they're like, oh, this guy's going to suck. And then the Raiders are like, oh, no, this guy's going to be so good. I got my pants down. I'm so excited. This guy's so good. It's hilarious. I really just, I think it's the funniest thing. Yeah. Truckstop fungus complained while he's in his tidy, why he's playing video games that the rundown was not sent out. And supermarkets, these guys are such entitled schmucks. They're such entitled schmucks. Supermarkets, Steve, and Truckstop fungus. My god. Where's the rundown? And he's got this bug up his, his took us about this story he wants me to talk about, which I'm not that interested in. Why don't you do the show, and then you can talk about it. I don't need to talk about it, supermarkets, Steve. If it rises to the level of something that I'm interested in,
I will, I will bring it up. You know, NFL players getting arrested, happen all the time. For years, we did the NFL Bookham to celebrate the amount of players that get popped. And get arrested. We haven't done that in a couple of years. There are some reasons we haven't done that. We might bring it back who knows. But it's a dime a dozen story. A dime a dozen, and this supermarkets, Steve, oh my god, you're going to talk about it. Oh my god. All right, let's get to the nominees here. This is a very exciting time. Everyone's got a little more pep in their step. And it's a time where we all celebrate those that have made this show possible for the last year. Coming up Sunday into Monday will be the 2026 Benny Awards. However, let the voting begin. And these are the nominees. I'll go through this as quickly as possible. In fact, we might have to spill this over
to the rest of the hour. But these are the nominees. Now, keep in mind, and I think Coup, you'll agree with me on this. You've been with me a while now. That normally what happens is this is such a polarizing thing that we will have several listeners have a total hissy fit. Oh, absolutely. And we'll quit the show because they were not nominated. They were. Yeah, I will get DMs saying like, what the hell? What gives? Yes, yes. We will get people who then are nominated. And then don't win who feel like they should quit the show also. So this is, I'm guaranteeing you what I'm about to do. This symphony of names, someone is going to quit the show. Guarantee. At least a couple of these people will be so aggrieved that they will run away. It will speak so agitated, alarmed, and acrimonious that they must go away.
