Hotel Wardrobe Accident: Charges Filed

0:00On April 16, a 21-year-old woman named Chloe Haines died in tragic circumstances at the Britannia Delphi Hotel in Liverpool back on September 10, 2022. She was therefore a night out when a heavy wooden wardrobe toppled over, crushing her windpipe. A friend discovered her under it and two other men from nearby rooms rushed in to lift the furniture, but sadly, she couldn't be saved. Haines jumped on a quick, arresting the friend and those two good Samaritans, men aged 26, 46 and 49, on suspicion of murder. They were all released without charges after it was ruled in accident. Then Liverpool City Council stepped in with their own health and safety probe into the hotel. Chloe was described by her mom as, petite, animal loving, and just starting to come out of her shell with a wide circle of friends. She traveled from North Wales for what was supposed to be a fun night, but after some drinks, things went wrong in the room. Council inspectors did spot checks right after and slapped prohibition notices on the wardrobes

Now the council's prosecuting two Britannia hotels companies for alleged safety breaches, with court kicking off May 7 at Liverpool Magistrates, court. The company's cooperating fully, but staying quiet as it heads to the judges.
