A 63-year-old man is fighting for his life after a brutal hammer attack right in his hospital bed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney's, in her West. Just after midnight on Thursday, a 46-year-old woman known to the victim allegedly snuck into his room and smashed him over the head, leaving, him with critical injuries. He's now in intensive care while cops arrested her on the spot and hauled her to Newtown Police Station. He's been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, denied bail, and is doing court that same Thursday. Apprehended violence orders also in place to protect him. Police are digging into what looks like a family beef between them, though it's not a domestic setup and the hospital hasn't commented yet as the investigation rolls on.
