Alex Hattick and his friend James Dawson are taking on a massive challenge to honor Alex's late dad, Darren, and support Spring Hill Hospice in. Rochdale. Darren was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in 2012 at age 45 when Alex was just 13. He passed away on January 23rd, 2020, after receiving care at the hospice. Starting April 21st, 2026, the duo will run 214 miles from the hospice to London over five days, then tackle the London marathon the next day for a total of 240 miles in six days. Their goal is to raise 26,000 pounds. Darren live actively for eight years after his diagnosis, beating tough odds since one and three people with a disease don't make it through the first year.
