Homeless Man Charged with Stealing Priceless Violin

0:00On March 23rd, a 46-year-old homeless man from East London has been charged with stealing a violin worth 150,000 pounds from. A North London pub. Ahmed Samimador allegedly took the antique instrument from musician David Ibanis at the Marquis Tavern last February. The violin dates back to 1740 from Florence and was loaned to Ibanez for his shows with the Philharmonia Orchestra. Another face is two theft counts, including a separate 4,000-pound violin, snaps the same day in Hackney. Police highlighted the violin's huge value but stressed it was prices to the owner who left it briefly while dining with a friend. They issued a suspect image and appealed for tips right after the report on February 18th, 2025. Mador was arrested in late June, charged this past January 19th and appeared at Snare's Brook Crown Court last week.
