Hokies Snap Streak, Beat Wake Forest 82-63

Neoclass Abdallas and Toby LaWall led the Hokies with 17 points each in the convincing and lannicose conference victory. The Hokies shot over 50% from the field and took a 10-point lead at halftime, 43-33. That effort snapped their two-game losing streak while ending Wake Forest 3-game win run. Several Hokies stepped up big, including a Monty Handsbury with 13 points and Ben Hamm in adding 12 points plus 5 assists. Christian Gerdaq came off the bench perfect, hitting all 5 shots for 10 points as 6 players reached double figures. Wake Forest fought back early in the second half, but Virginia Tech responded with a strong run capped by 3-pointers, building a 16-point edge that held the rest of the way. This 19-point win marched the Hokies biggest in conference place since February of last year, and they head to number 16 North Carolina next. Saturday, while Wake Forest visits Boston College on Tuesday.
