Historic London Pub Seized by Bailiffs

0:00On March 11th, a historic pub in North London called the Coronet on Holloway Road has been seized by bailiffs. The former cinema building faced the least forfeiture notice back in February, leading to the takeover last month by representatives of the toll gate, TPL Limited. This spot opened as the Savoy Cinema in 1940, later renamed the Coronet and then ABC. It showed its last film in 1983 before turning into a pub. For recently, it operated as a weather spoon until closing in December 2023, when D in property London bought it as part of a package of 30 pubs. The toll gate, TPL Limited, run by directors Ali Salami, Assel and Saeed Farsi, applied to Islington Council in April 2025 to update the license for boxing, wrestling and MMA events. Campaign for real ale and saving London pubs have highlighted the bailiffs action online. People shared memories of its cinema days, called it a stunning space, and lamented the

1:02loss while suggesting it could thrive as a live music spot, or with better management. For now, fans hoped this landmark gets rescued and revived before it's too late.
