Hezbollah Commander's Brother Attacks Synagogue

0:00In Durham, it's March 15th. Here's what is happening. Israel's military says the man who ran his car into a Michigan synagogue last week had a brother who was a Hezbollah commander. The attacker, 41-year-old Aiman Muhammad Ghazali, died by suicide after exchanging gunfire with security at Temple Israel near Detroit on March 13th. No one inside the synagogue was hurt thanks to heightened security. Earlier this month, on March 5th, an Israeli air strike in Lebanon killed Aiman's brother Ibrahim Ghazali, along with three other relatives. Ibrahim's children Ali and Fatima, and another brother named Kassim. Israel claims Ibrahim managed weapons for a Hezbollah unit that launched rockets at Israel. Authorities say Aiman acted after learning about the deaths. A Lebanese official confirmed the strike hit their home just after sunset. Hezbollah called the men's civilians, like a soccer referee and scout leader, but didn't outright deny Ibrahim's role. The FBI is leading the probe and calls it violence against the Jewish community, though they lack evidence to label it terrorism yet.
