Healthy Alone Time Or Dangerous Self Isolation?
About this episode
Some days the sky goes gray for no clear reason, and your first reflex is to hide on the sofa and go quiet. We’ve been there—and today we share the small, brave move that turns a low mood into a lifeline: a simple text to trusted friends asking for a kind word. That tiny script unlocked dinner invites, instant FaceTime, and heartfelt reminders of why our presence matters. More importantly, it revealed the crucial line between nourishing solitude and the kind of self-isolation that deepens unease.
And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

0:00Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore. The other day I experienced what I refer to as a low mood. Now this isn't anxiety or sadness or stress around any particular situation nor is it cycle related and I couldn't quite pin it to something and it confused me. And so when I feel low, I typically self-isolate, what about you? I want to sit on my sofa, maybe hit the fridge but really not be around anyone and not reach out to any friends. But knowing myself and knowing the power of connection, I forced myself to send this text message to three friends that I trust. I said this. Hi, first name. I'm feeling a little low today for a reason I don't understand and I know that it will pass.
1:02Please send me something nice about me. Please share a message. Please say something nice about me. Now my friends, instantly, I had responses from, want to come over for dinner tonight, a list of many reasons my friend and her family love having us as part of their world. And another friend face timed me immediately saying that she felt the same way. I need to tell you this. Sometimes we think that we're having all this healthy alone time and I love alone time. But that is very different to dangerous self-isolation. How do we know the difference? It is simple. Healthy alone time feels wonderful. You wouldn't change it for anything. You don't have FOMO, you have JOMO. You love being home or wherever you're spending time alone. And there is this sense of peace that is unmatched. Self-isolation is different.
2:03It can feel lonely. You don't necessarily have a feeling of safety or security and you want the uneasiness to end. The way to do this is to reach out even though it's the last thing that you want to do. I've got to share with you that we don't bond over fancy or impressive things. Human beings we bond over shared connection over being vulnerable sometimes. And you don't know who might need to hear from you when you feel this way because someone else might be feeling this way too. Good friends support connection they are medicine. Do not deprive yourself and others the joy of this happening. Until tomorrow my friends, so much love and ease. Hey friend, I've got something really cool for you. I want to give you free access to my signature course called Slay Your Year, which typically
