Healing from Trauma, Tragedy and PTSD with Author, Dr. Tim Murphy

Trauma is shockingly common among men. However, most of us don't recognize it in our own lives and this can create tremendous drag on our efforts to lead well.

Dr. Tim Murphy has extensive experience working with men and women struggling with PTSD, especially military veterans. Dr. Murphy recently wrote the book, "The Christ Cure: 10 Biblical Ways to Heal from Trauma, Tragedy, and PTSD," where he provides a valuable guide for family members of victims, clergy, and counselors who seek a better understanding of the role of faith in healing from trauma.

Tim Murphy, PhD, is a licensed psychologist; specializing in resilience and recovery from psychological trauma, and author of three books (most recently, The Christ Cure).   He consults on mental health and public policy with national organizations and speaks extensively throughout the US.   

He served in the Pennsylvania State Senate (six years) as Chairman of the Aging and Youth Committee, Vice Chairman of Health and Welfare, and member of Appropriations, Banking/Insurance and Rules.  As senator he authored the historic Managed Care reform Act.
