Hayward Adventure Playground's Spring Clean-Up

0:00On April 3rd, Hayward Adventure Playground in Islington just got a massive spring clean-up after 51 years serving kids with disabilities. This spot, run by the kid's charity, helps about 120 young people age 6 to 25 each year with special needs. Fantastic commercial services stepped up with a team of six pros who donated a full day's work to make it shine. They hit the indoor spots, hard kitchen, bathrooms, main room, soft play, and art areas, plus tackled the two-acre outdoor zone. Overgrown plants, tall grass, nettles, branches, leaves, bulky waste, and broken gear all got cleared out, opening up paths and storage for equipment. Leaders at the playground say it's a game-changer. Manager Robin McKeein notes maintaining two acres is tough, and they'd have to cut sessions for kids on waiting lists if paying for it. Head of partnerships, Nikki Pinnfold, praises the expertise that keeps his safe and fun where differences get celebrated, not just accepted.
