Hawthorn Players' Arrest, Trespassing Charges

Hawthorne AFL Forward, Dylan Moore and teammate Connor McDonald were arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona last November 8th for criminal trespassing. Police say the pair climbed onto a scissor lift after 1047 pm on private property. Moore also faced a drug paraphernalia charge after a small bag of a crystalline substance and a road of $100 bill turned up during a face vision. Search, but that charge got dropped. Newly released police documents give more details on the night. Officers found the players up about eight feet off the ground with friends cheering below. They climbed down, got handcuffed, and spent the night in jail before posting bail. The incident caused Moore his vice captain role at Hawthorne. Both players got fined by the club, completed alcohol counseling, and will do community service. No extra penalties from the AFL league. Hawthorne coach Sam Mitchell says the players have owned up and met all expectations since then.

1:02Moore called it a big regret, especially as the older guy there. They both played in Hawthorne's season opener loss and are lined up for Friday night's game against Essendon at the MCG.
