00All weather decks is a 24 time Angie Super Service Award recipient and probably helped one of your neighbors call all weather decks today at 913 206 1974 or go to allweatherdecks.net and mention you heard it right here on 810 call now and relax you are listening live to the program your teams your town your program five man rush they picked it up nicely the middle one open man touchdown Missouri Sean Terry the second had just one catch a year ago his first one this year goes for six Simmons throwing over the middle and so caught touchdown Donovan Aluminay the sophomore from Chicago on the board in 2026 thanks the handoff Roberts picks up the blitz Simmons looking down bill wide open touchdown Missouri Donovan Aluminay for the second time tonight
06you know our inability to get off the field because the special team felt he's really put the bur in my battle Jensen still stuck at third but now it's again the newly appointed August American League player the month Jack Cagley on rimmed down the line and that makes it a tie game Jensen's in and the reading August player the mom to the American League has an RBI double in September Carter Jensen smoked a triple the right center now he blasts it did bright field Carter Jensen's field in 22 the number of homeruns to match the number on his back and he puts the royals in front four to three and now the man who is punching Missouri's ticket to the college football playoff Seren Petra right you are Kyle right you are Petra in the program on sports radio eight 10 WHB you get Curtis out of the way for a few days and Missouri starts kicking ass and taking names that's what I see here I don't know what you see but that's what I see come on now that was perfection was it not didn't cover I know when I love it I love it I
18love it I didn't doubt it for a second not for one second did I think 54 and a half was in trouble not for one second not one is 21 nothing with five to go in the first quarter no I'm not sweating it at all 40 to not that at the half no no I'm feeling good the hook will save me the half the 54 and the half meant I was never ever ever in danger gambling's fun isn't it this is just for our our name we don't even have any money on this I've yet to get my first W of the year you are oh and six yes I'm not much better I'm two and four and you know last week started just like this I got a win right out of the gates bill Bella checked North Carolina not only covers the number they went out right I'm a genius this this this football betting is child's play said they're doing a fantasy draft fantasy auction in Vegas and we got the game on my buddy's got a law firm out there and we use his conference room he's got a big fancy TV we're the game on I'm just
20saying they're like I am putting together a championship fantasy football squad here and I have figured out the world of sports betting I am nails nobody knows football like this guy or losses later I'm back to be in the dopey fool that I've always been and I sweated it big time last night not because I had any money on it but I was like come on what am I Kyle Collier that's what I was saying to you am I going oh and six am I going to be one in five no no I'm not mz. Did just what I that is I will say this listen I'm not very good at gambling sports betting I can I can talk a decent game to make it sound like I'm all right but I'll tell you what I do know this is where I'm great I know I'm not a professional sports gambler and never will be right that's the first it's kind of like
23huh man my liver is exploding well maybe stop drinking you know a gallon of whiskey every night right it's clear we're not professionals by the fact that we bring on a professional every Thursday yes but I mean there's lots of people that are out there that are like I mean I'm I think I could do I mean I think I could do this for a living I think I think I could do it no no you can't I actually have a friend who does by the way it's the worst life you could possibly live and it's got a lot harder now because all the online it was a lot easier with Louis the fish was was taking your action but now that it's all online they just turn you off you got to get a new account get a new name running around all over the place sucks it's not a glamorous lifestyle because they don't have to take your bet that's the thing you got to remember they don't have to take your bet but I'm gonna tell you when you get a win you really do you sit there like oh I've got this
25figured out man I nailed it and while I will probably go one and four again this week just like I did last week I will tell you I did have that game figured out you can we pull the tape can we roll the tape of my expert analysis with fat Jack where I said they get up big they sit everybody down they take it their foot off the gas pedal and and the cover is there I can't remember which game it was but you just went I'm just throwing a dart here fat Jack what I hope it wasn't that one because it might not I think it might have been made have been the Auburn Clemson game or Auburn Auburn Ellis you or no comes in Ellis you or no to bail or Auburn because of bail or Auburn I think that's what it was I I literally have nothing on that game yeah because you that's right because you go you love Dave or Andy no I don't I think he's terrible and I don't like grabbing seven and a half point dogs I much prefer six and a half point dogs because Vegas you know they're they're
25they're feeling pretty good about the favorite if they go to seven seven and a half but I just didn't think a seven and a half and a ten and a half it was it's too easy those are both times where I like to jump on the favorite but because Ellis use ten and a half but I'm just like uh so instead what did I do like instead of taking both favorites and just taking the split probably nah it took both dogs took both dogs and I'll take the split the other direction if that's act total see like the underdogs week one and you pounded favorites is that what you did that's what I did yeah you you had Curtis had all the faves yeah I kind of followed him he won last year I know he did I know he did well congratulations to Mizzou I mean I know that the opponent was not top shelf but when this game when Mizzou gave it an effort it was 40 to nothing like that's the margin between these two teams is one half a football they're 40 point different and the quarterback I mean I mean I mean he can hit guys that are grade school wide open I don't even know high school wide open satisfies what what a couple of those were but identified it made the throw I think
32if you're Missouri you feel pretty good today don't you but what's not to like about what you saw from the Missouri Tigers last night you know I think it's a hundred percent like that's exactly the game you wanted to see and there is literally nothing to see in the second half nothing to see in the second half there is no worries about it I know he lied to him quits he said what coaches have to say and I appreciate him going well we let up in the second half and we got to work on some things we got to clean it up yeah because you're never going to tell somebody hey great game guys that was perfect you know what why don't we take the week off let's take four or five days off then we'll just come in throw together a quick practice we'll head to Lawrence for another win right nobody's nobody's gonna say that he's gonna come out and give you the coach speak what you did but if you're the Missouri Tigers I don't know how that game knowing who the opponent is I don't know how it could have looked much better than what that did and I think all eyes were on the quarterback and we feel like they're gonna run the ball I heard you know just a little bit ago Jason saying Jason and
38Mick and and Sterling talking about well you know they can run the ball I don't know I mean I think what do you think they need to work on running the ball it's that team yeah I mean I think like whatever they ran the ball was like well yeah so he was six years just a simple dive he was six yards across the line of scrimmage for someone touched him and then the overall momentum and drive the offensive line he went for five more on his way down yeah you know I think I like the idea look what do we need to work on we need to work on the passing game we need to know the quarterbacks up and running I would ask tiger fans where do you sit now on this team what what is your feeling you now had a chance to see him against an inferior opponent but play a glorified glorified you know scrimmage a glorified preseason game you know where where where do you sit on the Missouri Tigers now how much did this raise the bar on what you think the season can be and again I want to be
39clear we're settled down it's orca I know I'm stating that in the opener I'm asking you to to look at what can you take away from beating Arkansas Pinebluff and I got no problem with one of these types of games you know I think it's important to come out get some mistakes out of the way they had some turnovers there are a couple of penalties here and there I think it's important to come out and get that out of your system which Missouri did and so you know to me this this is good scheduling on their part because now they've gotten those mistakes out of the way they've got some tape on what they you know what they have they can get to work and prepare for a real opponent in Kansas so I think this game and I I would hope that Kansas would have a similar performance tonight where they lay the beat down in the first half they make some mistakes but they easily overcome it get to get to look at the tape and then be ready to go at a much higher level than you would have been if you opened with this game yeah good to agree more you got a new quarterback and new
41coordinators at Mizzou you want to lay up to see what you got obviously he's not going to jail after one week but I would say the arrows pointing up looks like Simmons throws a good ball I mean you know there was one on the touchdown it was a little behind the guy I mean you could nitpick some things but hey you get an inferior opponent go look impressive okay how does 17 of 19 for 252 4 and 0 look is that impressive yes that's impressive that's impressive when you consider that the other two quarterbacks albeit with the backups were nine for 14 with no touches then they were in like hey we're not running it up mode but they went out and wanted to cook and they cooked and so you know you do have to be careful about overreacting and if this spread the spread was six and a half before this game on the KU game we saw one of the look ahead lines was Mizzou by six and a half I'm going to be interesting to see where that sits once we get done with Kansas if Kansas
45has a similar performance will hold the line or does the fact that Austin Simmons came out and looked as good as he looked does that answer the question that I know was the biggest question that Missouri fans have that the biggest question that college football fans around here have is does Missouri have the quarterback in place it's been the biggest question he like drink which has had you know hanging around his neck it's the only thing he hasn't done he said we've been to the playoffs here in one of the national championship okay within reasonable expectations of where the Missouri program has been the only thing he hasn't done is prove that he can find a top shelf quarterback and Brady cook hanging around the NFL shows that he's better than certainly most of his probably gave him credit for and and I don't and I don't think that it's been Eli Drinkwitz has got just the worst quarterbacks ever in there but you know everybody would like to have that star against the inferior opponent Simmons looked like he could be that guy
45I mean you know you're going to get him on hardy back you've always been a really good running team I mean I guess if you did want to pick something out 4.6 yards per carry overall running the football which I think has some sacks in there as well so if you take out the the real runs what would it be 43 for 207 so you push on up towards five I guess maybe you would like to have been even more effective running the ball I mean if you want if you want to nitpick but didn't have one of your preseason all Americans there in the mod heart and Kaden Green by the way I thought perhaps the most interesting I look it was football that counts in the standings and it's one of our local schools so the game itself was interesting I love this time of year getting to watch college football last night on a couple of screens and then also the US opens on and I'm a big fan of the US open and so you know having all that on it's like
48sensory overload right now to have football back and multiple games going on that you can you know keep your eye on but you know so just all around great night but I thought maybe the most intriguing thing have you figured out the what are they the golden lions pine bluff yeah have you figured out their logo let me do a double double take here take a look at it and tell me if you figure out what's going on there with the line I was so happy when I figured this out all right it looks like he's got winds with the main is windswept yeah and then he's got a red tone which I would be looking for here look at the main oh my god I don't even see the letters yeah oh wow I was so happy when I saw that what a
50dork I can't tell you I just sat there with a big smile on my face like I had just you know split an atom or something I mean I can't tell you how much pleasure I derived from the stupidest thing you could possibly put out there I was I was so happy that was a sea bolt ask of yes he just gave us yes so if you look at the main I'm sure most of you're like yeah I saw it immediately okay you operate on a higher plane than I do I didn't see it but the main the wavy main of the alliance spells out you a pb University of Arkansas Pine Bluff I was I mean I can't tell you how excited I was when I figured that out like you can't get that by me I had to go get somebody because of course I live with three women now that the college kids home for the weekend I had to go get somebody hey hey come look at this look what I just did I figured this out what do you see the school is University of Arkansas Pine Bluff what do you see in the logo it's like really are you kidding me it's a lion dad I don't I got I got homework to no no
57look closer look you got to look again did she go nice work detective she goes are you serious you made me come in here to look at this I go yes I did and then later today I was told you need new jokes so you know you ever want to be putting your place and humbled to have kids because they're not impressed by you I'm gonna tell you that right now but I was impressed by Missouri I do point the arrow a little bit higher and I may regret that if Kansas rolls them by 31 13 or something next week then I'll be like okay the new information I reserve the right to change my opinions right so I will go about changing my opinion but I thought they look pretty pretty damn good and I you couldn't have asked for anything you you there's no way you could point the arrow down could you or does the second half with the backups not pouring on points you go well I'm not sure about their depth if they can't you know they go 14 14 with backups against Pine Bluff how good are they
00they're they're thin I guess I've I've cooked you up a way to try to be bitchy about it but well it's pretty good to me quarterback's why we wanted to see and he made it look good I'm surprised Jason Anderson isn't bouncing off the walls she my quarterback it's my quarterback man it's more of a sterling thing to do you are you saying sterling gets a little too excited at times of course not so there you go we got that going for us you know which is we all like to say is nice which is which is nice um um them to beat nowhere I want to go here I don't know if I want to do let's take a break I don't want to get behind yeah yeah
02we'll say I get it out you're saying now don't do it don't do it don't do it just break just break just break so we'll take a break nine one three three eight ten eight ten the Missouri Tigers are certainly a topic you can grab a phone line right now nine one three three eight ten eight ten mizou k you there in action tonight against long Island you hear it right here on your home of the Kansas J Hawks we can talk K state football as well chiefs royals sporting they're always a topic here in the program nine one three three eight ten eight ten you listen to the program here on sports radio eight ten w hb we're talking some Missouri Tiger football impressive win I'm I'm gonna say it I know the opponent was not impressive but the way they handled it the 40 to nothing was to me the story of that game yada yada yada and so on and so on was the rest of it I think there's a little mercy shown there by Eli Drinkwitz in this game gonna go to Ryan he wants to talk some mizou nine one three three eight ten eight ten I am curious from Tiger fans um where do you got this team coming in record wise and how much did this game influence where you got him at now nine one three three eight ten eight ten
06first I want you to hear Eli Drinkwitz he was on this morning on new day with ss j drinkwitz talked about the performance of his quarterback yeah I thought a handled the situation pretty well I know obviously he was nervous after you know how the how the season ended for him last year and all those different things and so he had a lot to prove and I think anytime you have a lot to prove there's a lot of uh nervous and excitement that goes along with that I thought he did a nice job staying within himself without pressing um letting the game come to him I thought he was very accurate and taking the free access throws and especially the third bound conversions you know those are always a little bit more tricky than you wanted to be and I thought he handled those really well the two incompletions he had a a poor read on a vertical pass attempt um that that on a play action pass that you know just needs to be corrected and then I had a little bit of a boot action out in the track to back shoulder player and just really let's fall out of his hand a little bit too quickly so two things he can learn from you know the sack
09we have an RPO we had a outside pressure to the away from the from the RPO side which you got to recognize and hand the ball off we can't pick that up you know you're hot there and so you know those are three plays that he's going to learn from and that's what you want you want to have enough on tape to have built confidence but enough on tape to keep you humble and that's the trick and football man staying humble and hungry and that's what we got to do by the way I mean coaches are great when they sit there rolling the tape back and forth back and forth back and forth was zero two hundred and seventy pound guys bearing down on them like I they're going to be sometimes are guys like yeah I got it coach I mean I can see it on the tape too but when I got a two hundred and seventy pound offensive end right in my face settled out but Eli Drake what's love that guy played great but he has a few plays to say here's where he can keep doing better I really felt like you know in Eli in the post game I don't know if people stayed with the SEC network afterwards but and and heard you know his his post game he he also complimented the wide
13receivers and how they played and I think that's that's a good sign that he's happy with how the wide receivers played but you know Simmons was the the story man like is he going to be the real deal do they have a quarterback that you can win because of right not win with their guys you carry those guys suck their guys you win with they just don't make mistakes and then their guys you win because of you got a guy you win because of along with a pretty good team around him that's how you end up being a college football playoff team nine one three three eight ten eight ten let's start to Ryan you're in the program Ryan what's going on good man what's on your mind so a couple of his youth first of all I think Austin Simmons looks like the real deal out there I think every throw is confident he kind of looks like a professional in my opinion he puts some zip on the ball which I love I think will be an item through this year I think we'll drop a few of the obvious gains but I think both gave some my big question though for you is with all this eligibility
21questions in the SEC how do you think the NCA fixes this because you know you can't put two things back in the tube here but how do you think they kind of clean this up over the next five ten years you know and first of all that's a very intelligent question there Ryan from the stamp of these said five ten years and I'm going to let you go I answer the question uh here what you listen on the radio nine one three three eight ten eight ten this is not going to get cleaned up today it's not going to get cleaned up this week it's not going to get cleaned up this fall it's not going to get cleaned up this winter it's not going to they have got to collectively bargain with their players they've got to recognize that their employees I don't know why this is such a difficult thing I don't know why when now you're paying him yeah there's a great tweet somebody is and I apologize for not remembering who it was um but it's somebody in the college football media world and they said man things were just so much more pure when we used to pay people under the table like it's gotten so bad on college football so bad oh yeah yeah the hundred dollar handshake was way better right cheaper for rich guys that's about all it was
28but it wasn't better like when I went to Syracuse and mystically every guy on the basketball team drove a Jeep wagon here and the official statistician of the basketball team that flew on the team charter to road games old get this a Jeep dealership well that was way better I remember being a Kansas fan and Billy Preston had an accident in his Dodge Charter that wasn't under his name yeah man we we love those days yeah I mean listen I still even remember what color all the fellows drove Derek Coleman had a black one is it his car I don't know if it's his car I don't know there's a giant sdc on the back in 44 pretty sure Steve Thompson had a red one Billy Owens had a white one still remember remember them cruising
28around campus oh yeah it's way better way better I know that wasn't your question who I Frank I didn't write down his name who that was Ryan Ryan Ryan I know that wasn't your question let me get to your question though it's my little soap box for the day how do they clean it up well first of all the NCAA doesn't because they the NCAA has been there's a term I like to use it's called castration okay they are now a gilding they have no power so they're not doing anything and by the way the NCAA all it's ever been is simply the representative of the schools the things the NCAA did when schools got mad that they got put on probation you're the ones who wrote the rules and you're the ones that put these people in the positions they are to govern you I think that they have to continue to waste more time in our court system and here's what I can't figure out has the American court system just been a joke for like 200 years and I just didn't know it because sports didn't get all legislated in the courts has it is it
30really been this goofy are they as dumb as they look now I'm asking I'm not asking for a friend I'm asking for me I genuinely don't know if our legal system suck this bad you lawyers out there have you always been in this laughing stock profession that I'm looking at right here I've judges always been this kind of clown show have they always been in the pocket of whoever is you know in their backyard I mean because I'll give credit to to dabbo Sweeney who called you know college football embarrassing I hope the legal system is is looking at it going this is embarrassing Louisiana judge rules for LSU Alabama judge rules for Alabama it's pathetic it's absolutely pathetic it's not going to get better either so why do we think the court system's going to solve it they're not they've had this college save college sports act crap out in front of congress and senate and whoever the hell is looking at that they haven't been able to get that out there and why is that
31going to be any good because let me tell you why that's going to suck too this is well again what Ryan while you're five to ten year thing is a smart question is because they're going to put together whatever it is and I eventually they'll they'll get something out there and that theoretically will be the rules until there's one of the big money schools that doesn't like how the rule how a certain rule pinches them and does not give them a better chance to win and then they will sue and that will go to court and here's the other thing when rules become outdated or need or you realize wait a minute we didn't think about this thing we've got this big thing of rules I love when everyone's like the rule books too damn big oh my it's just too damn big we don't need all these rules yeah you do need all the rules you want to know why because the reason the rule book is big is because people think of things in an effort to win in a competitive nature they're going to try to squeeze everything they can out of the rules they're going to bend them as far as they can they're going to try to slip through the loopholes and when you see somebody go through a loophole then you go we got to tighten that loophole we got to get rid of that so here's a new rule subsection
35a and then they find another one you get subsection b and c and you read rule books it's section five article four subset b because people are looking for how they can exploit the rules to their benefit and so this idea that Congress is going to write some like what do they think Congress is Moses coming down with with with two tablets oh I give you these 200 rules to rule over all of college athletics I mean seriously I just the stupidity of waiting around what have they solved on anything ever you know if they knew what they were doing wouldn't we be done wouldn't we not need government anymore because we wrote the rules we all play by them it's perfect now they're constantly in session writing new rules so why do you think this is going to be any different what they're going to realize is wait a minute this is dumb because when we want to change something it takes five years to
38change something and they're going to say you know what we've got to all just commit to we're going to pick the people who are going to govern us and we're going to live by what they say I mean you even the players association once Roger Goodell they need somebody even they know even though they know he's half in the bag for the owners minimum they sign on to but if we don't have him if we don't have somebody that has an ultimate authority we don't get paid and while we don't like all the rulings for the most part 95% of us all get our check we don't get suspended most of us that don't screw around pretty much have it pretty good in the NFL and why is that because we have rules that we've all agreed to we sign our name to it and every five now it used to be about every five now it's like every 10 12 years the CBA comes up and then we go argue about it again and that's what the NCAA was it is not better now than it was and it's not because of the money it's because
40you've taken away the people that used to be in charge and now it's anarchy that's the problem it's anarchy and everybody's so worried that it doesn't benefit themselves and when the NCAA was formed and I think that's what they'll get back to whether it's the NCAA or whether it's 40 or 60 power football schools that breakaway and have their own thing they will have a ruling body they will probably end up with a commissioner and everybody will have their representative and they will have they will end up employing the college football players they will end up admitting that they are employees those players will have rights there will be limits on how much they can practice they'll be structured how they get paid and what they have to do for it because right now it's NIL well the players they they give them a million dollars and part of that million dollars is they're supposed to go to the car dealer who's given the university five million dollars supposed to go to his car dealership and sign autographs and you know how many of them are doing it
42not many not many and you know what are the universities doing are they suspending them are they throwing them out no because they know the college down the road will take them and pay them and not care that they didn't go show up for the boosters and some of the boosters don't care but others do like whoa I signed this deal and you told me I'd be getting starters to come to my dealership every other Saturday and sign autographs so I can bring these lemons in to come buy a car from me eventually we're going to get to let's have a point where they go well listen we got to cut them in on a straight percentage of the money we got some structure or this isn't going to work because the one thing I vehemently disagree with shahane jahaja about who is our college football insider and does a great job but he is I've said this a million times everybody thinks evolution and I don't mean just human evolution I mean whatever's evolving music we're here yeah we went
49through some a big band stage and then we had the beginning of rock and roll and then but now this is it this is where there is no there's nothing in the future we've arrived this is it football offense this is it's what we've been working towards we're here we've arrived and there's always something else around the corner it's like Curtis with rush we've arrived yes Curtis arrived and has not moved since rush came out but there are other bands and music continues to evolve and you have to evolve with it and so this idea once shahane says no I think 50 millions about why why do you think 50 millions it two years ago they were writing headlines about Ohio State at a $16 million pay roll last year they were writing headlines about I think it was Ohio State again at a 34 million dollar payroll now we're at 50 why do we think 50 is it don't you think captain billionaire down at Lubbock Texas is going to go well with 50 got me in the playoffs 70 might get me the win
51you think they're just going to stop and inevitably you know who's going to be standing there Texas because they swim in money they swim in money not only are they got oil folks but they got a law school they got a med school it's the number seven public institution in the country I know that because I sat through one of their presentations and they told me that 19 times now they don't have a dorm for your kid to live in when they're a freshman necessarily but they're the number seven public school in the country according to somebody 9133 81081010 you're in the program what's going on Tim hey I thought you were you were talking about lawyers and stuff so I kind of wanted to go into this I think you know the big picture here here's the big picture these are any trusted violations that's where this all began with and I think you know the answer until they become employees and you have a collective bargaining agreement you're back to square
53one so haven't I haven't I said that about four times already today about five hundred times over the last couple of years anyway go ahead I didn't mean to interrupt your flow Tim but you keep your your your vision about the lawyers when the problem is the structure of the NTA created and they actually made a lot of money on the only other way I can see this is it wait wait wait wait hold on hold on hold on but but you don't see it as a clown show from the legal profession when the judge when the judge in Louisiana wrote rules for LSU all the time and the judge in Alabama rules and favor of Alabama all the time you don't think that's a farce then that comes out of Louise and is all it's going to suspect that French law that's number one and Alabama's close number two but yes I agree with that it is and it's it's it's it's you think politics are not local they are they are are yeah what judges as well the other thing is is that a big picture is remember baseball get an
57interest exemption I guess you could give college sports and antitrust exemption well that's what they're wanting that's what the the save college sports act basically is is is writing law federal law to govern but also clear the way you know what they want out of that is they're going to want to put limits on what they pay the players absolutely this is a my own opinion is this the players have been getting screwed for a long time in the university's I think you're on the same boat yep the big picture is until the the NCAA and the member institutions comes into agreement that their employees and they have a collective bargaining agreement and that can make surrender to that row had pooba off of college athletics they're always going to be problems like this yes and that's why that's why having don't you agree with me that having congress be the like the the part that I can't believe nobody has mentioned is that if you're going to have congress write these rules the rules always are going to have to evolve and look at how long it takes to get anything done in congress and
57you're you're going to just like so every time you want to change a rule you're you need up a 51 49 vote to get something passed and and they're going to attach 19 things to it to try to get it through I mean can you imagine what it would take to evolve the rulebook if we're going to leave it all to the federal government 110 percent on the rules number one number two even if congress passes a law they don't get a pass on the antitrust exemption yeah um so I would tell you that the legal system is just a means for the schools to cheat and obviously there's the low-flying fruit in Louisiana so I'm not surprised about anything in Louisiana and you shouldn't be either because I know you've got a high B.S. detector yeah no no listen the Louis there's a yeah Louisiana is an interesting it's its own world it's its own entity there's no doubt and Tim thanks for the call buddy I appreciate it uh and listen I'm not a lawyer-hater I love lawyers I give them
03money and they fight for me what's better than that they fix my tickets uh excuse me broken headlights that seem to pop up from time to time I love them I am not anti-loiers right I'm not a lawyer-hater I think the judges are kind of ass I mean that this that's farcical I mean I get you're paid to go try to win as a lawyer that's your job even if your clients guilty you're supposed to present the best defense that's how our legal system is set up but you're not supposed to be a shell if you're a freaking judge now judges are all lawyers so they're one of yours so you lawyers gotta wear it okay just like I got to wear it when somebody's making things up in the media when you get this you know oh fake news I can honestly tell you 100% with my heart and soul I have never once ever put fake news on the radio or on a tweet or any other means that the things I've
03written on websites and for a couple of different you know small-time rags that are out there that used to print I've never I've never done that but I got to wear it because there are a lot of people in my business that do maybe you know yesterday you know I'm saying and I gotta wear that and unfortunately Tim and you know this too jackass judges give you guys a bad name and gives all college college athletics a bad name right now yes they look like clowns dabbo swinges right it's it's pathetic that's that's exactly what it is and you know the original question Ryan had was like you know what's gonna fix it it's years away it's years away but it's it's worth the effort everybody's still watching it everybody agrees that this is a mess but the ratings are tremendous okay and I know part of that's because gambling's legal everywhere and you'll want to watch your bet so you're if you're betting on sports you probably watch more sports I get all that but there
05is no loss of appetite for college athletics right now and it I think it will get through there you know I think I am stunned that we are paying players millions of dollars which they deserve because people want to watch it and there's millions of dollars being made off off their backs I'm all for it but I am stunned that college athletics is still churning like this I mean it shows my own ignorance and I spent a lot of time trying to study this stuff death to the BCS I'd encourage you to go read that Jeff passing was co-author on that with Wetzel and it's it and it still is relevant today there's things that it's 20 years old and you'll read you back okay you'll understand a little bit of how we got here and how obviously Jeff and and what so that was his name right well this is the used to be the Yahoo now Dan Dan Wetzel you know you'll see things like oh they were they call this 20 years ago right and so if we didn't have all the hypocrisy and we didn't have so many people
05trying to put the money in their pocket instead of going to the players and from the get go when the money started getting big in 1984 if they didn't have didn't keep paying jackasses and peach colored jackets to go fly all over the country and and stay in five star hotels and eat big meals to to see if a team might want to be worthy of going to the peach bowl and all the hands that were in the cookie jar steal in the money that wouldn't go into the kids if they had just started paying people then we'd been a lot better place you can still get there people like Ohio state on the front more than they want to see the ramblers they don't want to see the Columbus ramblers minor league football team they want to see the Ohio State buck eyes and they don't care about the fact that the guys are being paid nine one three three eight ten eight ten it'll take time I think they'll eventually get there nine one three three eight ten eight ten you're in the program you're in the program here on sports radio eight ten w hb thanks for joining us here on a
05hot and sticky Friday high school football be careful out there uh certainly for all the players that gonna be playing you know make sure you hydrate everything that's going on but even if you're just going to watch the games it's gonna be a hot one so uh hopefully uh everybody does what they need to do to be uh I don't know what safe healthy uh in this situation uh but uh is this the first weekend for everybody or did Missouri start last weekend uh I want to say Missouri has already started the very guy wanted about okay I know it's tonight's the first night for many though yeah tonight's the first night I know for uh for Kansas so uh we'll see hopefully everybody has a good time uh out there uh look the I know the the college football and how it how it's being run right now is ridiculous but this is what's happened when you let something just go unchecked for a long time but I think everybody's committed to the fact that they want sports on college campuses
06and so I think eventually they'll get their arms around it but Tim is right it's it's ultimately going to be a collective bargaining agreement admitting their employees and which which they really are everyone now is on an online class oh how's his attendance I don't know he turns his phone on three times a day immaculate yeah it's like the old day where literally you'd see the guys in class and there was a guy coming in check and you'd see the coach stick his head in there and like is he there okay he's there I can go back yeah online just watch it when it's comfortable for you oh yeah there's students all right some of them are they have the opportunity they don't take advantage of it that's their problem right but you're gonna have to pay him and you're gonna have to admit their employees and that's going to be the only way you can sit down and get some rules and structure that everybody ends up following rules and structure then apply it at Danny Klingtscale Danny's unleashed next all right two pitchers gave up three postseason homers to George Brett name either one of them brought to you by Twin Peaks
