Golf Shores Police are stepping up security ahead of Spring Break, 2026, with extra patrols, new technology, and specialized training. Just last week, they arrested 18 people and seized six firearms in one day during a senior skip day event. Chief Daniel Netamir says the goal is to stop any beach takeovers and keep the family friendly spots safe for everyone. The only kick-doth last year after partnering with Myrtle Beach Police for a conference on handling spring breakers. They uncovered a big issue, young people turning to guns for minor problems, a trend hitting beaches everywhere from Panama City to Miami. Shooting's happened here in 2023 and 2024, but it's not just an Alabama problem. Most kids on the beach welcomed the heavy police presence and felt safer, while trouble makers got rounded up. Netamir praised his team's quick response, saying they likely prevented a couple of shootings that day.

The department is teaming up with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office for more boots on the ground, plus local businesses and state leaders.
