Grey Seal Pup Stranded on NJ Street

0:00Here's more entertainment and celebrity news for March 13th. A baby gray seal plump showed up on a busy street in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, looking like a pile of snow. A passerby spotted the six to eight-week-old female and called police, who quickly scooped her up from the cold pavement. Earlier this week on February 24th, the seal had wander from the ocean, up a beach path and across three lanes of traffic to reach the road. Several officers had never seen anything like it and immediately reached out for help. Police chief Robert Berneford called it an incredible site and praised the quick alert from the public. His team contacted the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, which rushed the nearly frozen pup to their facility in Brighantine. The center handles a few of these rescues each season, as gray seals often strand to parking lots, yards, and streets while trying to find their way. Back to the water. The seal made it safely with no injuries, and the chief urged drivers to stay alert on coastal roads, since wildlife can appear out of nowhere.
