The show stars Ellen Pompeo as her adoptive mother, Christine Barnett, and cast Imogen Faith Reed as Grace herself. She's filing the suit on her own without a lawyer and wants unspecified damages. The series dramatizes a strange adoption story from 2010, when the Barnett's took in a girl they thought was six, only to later suspect she, was much older and disruptive. Grace claims the production painted her as dangerous, manipulative, and even abusive, despite a disclaimer about fictional elements.
