Godwin Wishes Evans Stays, Bucs Prepare for Life Without Him

Tevbe Buccaneers, why receiver Chris Godwin, is making a strong case for teammate Mike Evans to stay with the team as the veteran heads into free agency. Godwin shared his thoughts recently, saying he hopes Evans returns because they are like brothers on the field. Evans has built an incredible legacy over his 12-year career, all with the Buccaneers. He holds the franchise records with 866 receptions, 13,052 yards, and 108 touchdowns. The team has already started planning for the future, by drafting wide receiver Ameca Egbuka 19th overall in the 2025 NFL. Draft. As a rookie, Egbuka costs 63 passes for 938 yards and 6 touchdowns, proving his first round value right away. Evans had a tough season, playing just eight games and averaging only 46 yards per game, which ended his streak of 1,000 yard seasons.
