This is Corey with NFL News Today, powered by the Daily News Now. Subscribe for daily updates on your team. The New York Giants are making moves on the second day of the NFL's legal tampering period. They're set to sign corner bag Greg Newsom, the second to a one-year deal. This comes after a busy Monday, as General Manager Joe Shone keeps bolstering the roster. Newsom is a six-year veteran and former first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns back in 2021. He spent five seasons there before a trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025. Now he's heading to New York to where Giants blew starting next season. The Giants lost corner back, Cordale Flot to the Tennessee Titans yesterday, so they needed a quick replacement. Newsom steps in right away and shrankens that corner bag group with his experience. Last season with the Jaguars, he posted 29 tackles, including 23 solo stops, one interception, and six passes defense. That kind of production should help shore up the secondary.

The agreement is in place, but it won't become official until the league year starts Wednesday afternoon. Keep an eye on free agency as more deals shake out. A message from our sponsor supports today's story. Do not just fall asleep, drift into what you're listening to. S-O-L-I-SoliPillow.com
