Giants Re-sign Hodgins for Depth, Competition

This 6'4 receiver brings solid death after first joining the team midway through the 2022 season. Over 35 gains with 19 starts, plus two playoff appearances, he has 66 catches on 96 targets for 708. Yards and 8 touchdowns. Fans played all 17 games for the Giants in 2023, but his role shrank the next year. He bounced around, starting on their practice squad with just three games, then moved to the 49ers and Steelers before returning to New York. After a coaching change, in seven recent games with five starts, he grabbed 10 of 19 targets for 115 yards and one score. Fans and analysts see his value in blocking and tough catches. Pro football focus graded him at 67.5 for pass blocking among Giants receivers.

1:02He led the team with a 66.7% contest to catch rate on jump balls and had the second best target rating at 98.9. Now with new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who likes bigger slot receivers, Hodgons could compete for that spot. It opened up after Wandel Robinson left for the Tennessee Titans. His size and versatility make him a good fit both outside and inside.
