Georgetown Snaps Streak, Beats Providence 80-79

The game stayed close throughout, with Georgetown blowing a first half lead before rallying late in the second half. Kavon Mollready added 12 points in 7 assists, while Kayla Williams and Malik Mack chipped in 11 points each. This win gives former Providence coach Ed Cooley a regular season sweep of his old team, which he led from 2011 to 2023. Both squads finished 14 and 17 overall, tied for last in the Big East. Providence got 21 points from Jalen Sellers, but fell short after missing a late chance to tie. The Friars play amid rumors that Coach Kim English could be out after the season. Now both teams head to the Big East Tournament in New York City on Wednesday, where Georgetown faces DePaul and Providence takes on Butler at Madison Square Garden.
