If you are like me, you can probably picture your parents, grandparents, or even yourself quoting one of these old sayings. They are treasures for sure. Back in the day, pun intended, most sayings held deeper meaning than what was spoken.

1:03While it is true that money does not grow on trees, the lesson behind the classic saying implies the importance of proper budgeting, saving, and the value of fixing something rather than replacing it. The world would be a better place if we applied those same principles to people. The Apostle Peter teaches in his first book that the younger are to submit to their elders. Boy, howdy. How about we all take in that out of context at some time or another? Sadly, we often fail to apply Peter's statement. All of you be submissive to one another and clothe with humility. Regardless of language or translation, all means all. A humble heart does not look down on others, no matter one's age, stage, or circumstance.

AI. It's because one reads or listens to something online does not make it true. Enter humility. When each of us approaches differences, submitting to one another with humility, we can help bridge the generational gaps. We can also learn a great deal from one another. That gives grace to the humble and a humble heart trumps pride every time.
