Gators Win SEC, Climb Rankings

They grabbed two big wins last week to boost their chances at a number one seed in the NCAA tournament. That run has them climbing the rankings, now sitting at number four in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Earlier this week on Senior Knife Florida crushed Mississippi State by 34 points, even without their top score, Thomas Hall. The Gators overcame an early 10-point deficit with an 18-0 run, then poured in 61 second half points for 108 victory. That clinched the southeastern conference regular season title with the commissioner on hand to present the trophy. Players stepped up big time, like Alex Condon with a season high 26 points, and Xavier Lee nearly getting a triple double at 19 points. Six assists, five rebounds, and four steals. Rubin Chenyulu tied a 50-year program record with his 18th double double, adding 11 points and 16 rebounds.

1:03They wrapped the regular season with an 84-77 win at Kentucky, where Hugh returned strong with 20 points and nine boards. All five starters had double figures, but Florida let a 20-point lead slip late, making just three-field goals in the final 10 minutes. The Gators know they need to stay sharp and close-outs as the postseason heats up. The open Friday in Nashville, against either LSU, Kentucky, or Missouri, ready to keep the momentum rolling.
