Gamecocks Spring Practice Kicks Off

0:00On March 4, South Carolina Gamecocks started their spring practices this week, the first of 15, as they look to recover from a 4-0-8 season. Media watched the opening 30 minutes, which began with indoor stretches before shifting to outdoor individual drills. It marked a debut for a new offensive coordinator, Kendall Briles, who stuck close to quarterbacks like Lenora Sellers during the session. Two new quarterbacks made their first appearances, two four-star freshmen land in Duckworth and number 11, and bowling green transfer elution. Anderson III, wearing number 15, Briles spent plenty of time around the group signaling a fresh start for the offense. A bright spot was defensive line coach Travian Robertson returning to the field. He missed nearly all of last season, recovering from a back car accident and multiple surgeries, but he moved well while directing his players. Meanwhile, a few others worked on the side with the limited group, including defensive back judge Collier, true freshman linebacker Andrew Harris, and wide receiver Charlie Mullley.

True freshman edd rusher Julian Walker stood out at 6.6 and 250 pounds, especially with Dylan Stewart limited. Over on special teams, sophomore Max Kelly and Texas Tech transfer upton Bellinfant handled kicks indoors, while redshirt sophomore Mason love, focused on punts and snaps. Four team more practices lie ahead, giving the team time to gel and build depth before fall camp ramps up.
