Gamecocks Snap Skid, Defeat Arkansas 9-4

0:00On March 22nd, South Carolina's baseball team finally broke through with a 9-4 win over number 4 Arkansas at Founders Park. The victory gives Interim head coach Montele his first win and hands the game cocks their initial SEC triumph this season, improving them to 13. Winds in 12 losses overall, 1 in 5 in conference play. The offense came alive, pounding out 12 hits including 4 home runs. Jake Randolph smashed two of them while Talmadge LaCroy and Tyler Bach added one each. Randolph and Bach paced the attack with three hits a piece, as seven of eight starters reached base safely. This result snapped a seven game skid, the team's first victory since March 8th, and dodged the worst 0-6 start to SEC play in school. History. Last year they rebounded from 0-5 to finish 6-24 in league action. Pitcher Brandon Stone delivered a strong 5-1-3 innings, allowing just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
