Tell the people where you are in the world
and what in the world you're sitting in.
I am in Green Bay, Wisconsin, murals.
Never been a Green Bay.
Have you ever been a Green Bay?
Yeah, I've been there once.
I played a couple of games against the Green Bay Gamblers
who actually drafted me in the USHL.
Really?
This is where you could have went.
Could have been there.
I played one game for the Boston Junior Bulldogs
with Mike Odessa's head coach against Green Bay Gamblers.
And then the next day we played some crappy team
from Wisconsin.
We beat like 14 to nothing.
I was 15 years old thinking about the USHL.
So I got a chance to go out there with them.
Hey, amazing memory.
You have amazing memory murals.
Surprisingly hockey guys have amazing memories
when it comes to hockey,
but everything else not so much.
That's what impresses me.
Like people ask me,
what's your kid's birthdays?
I'm like, I don't fucking know.
But I don't, I'll remember like a play
in like 2007 in a game randomly in like Chicago.
I don't know.
It's crazy.
But I'm in Green Bay.
Cruz, who's here right now for nationals
is here with his team Mount St. Charles.
Big win yesterday.
They got a huge win against.
I think they're ranked like 10th or 11th.
And they beat Caesars.
Little Caesars.
Seven to three.
Beatdown and Cruz had two toys.
Pizza boys.
Cruz had two talks.
So good game by him.
Good game by the team.
Probably the best I've seen them play in two years.
In two years there.
Big stage.
They rose up.
They played as a team.
They were dialed,
committed blocking shots,
played hard, executed.
They looked like a team.
It was amazing to see.
So credit to the kids.
Hey, credit to the coaches.
You know, they got to get these guys dialed in, right?
But I'm in Green Bay.
The first goal Cruz scored.
So you know, I got all my kids, right?
I got all these kids.
So the first goalie scored.
My one daughter live comes over.
She's got we got the dog, right?
We got the dog.
We bring the dog to the rink and stuff.
Like this is like this little puppy dog.
The real circus circus.
And so she's like, I got to take the dog outside.
So there's this little back sneak door
out the back of this rink here.
So I take the dog out with her.
As I'm coming back in,
I see Cruz like looping in the corner
and jumping into a guy celebrating.
I'm like, you got to be shit.
I took the dog out with the kids.
Girls that I missed is the first goalie.
God, I saw the second one.
But I miss the first one taking the dog out.
So there was that.
But yeah, and then two and around,
two to round yesterday here, Green Bay.
Like Lambo Field, buddy, is like in them.
It's crazy because you had to play
at that rink right over there by the field, right?
Yep, right next to it.
And it's like right in the neighborhoods.
It's crazy to see it.
It's like right off the neighborhoods.
And so we're staying at like a like a like a bon boy thing.
You know, I love the points.
I'm a point guy.
So the internet wasn't good.
So guide our team.
His parents have this.
I'm in a sprinter van right now
with Starlink internet.
Like working and streaming this for me.
Isn't that amazing in a van?
Love it.
Better than the hotel internet.
Yeah, that's yeah, that's something
you get when you go to Mount St. Charles.
We don't we don't have a ton of those parents
with sprinter vans in the Troy Euthockey organization.
Yeah, well, someday maybe what I wanted to ask
about the daughters.
Like you got them dressing up.
Like the win brothers did for their siblings.
And did you see?
Did you see anything?
Did you see on social or anything?
I don't know if they're on there.
I don't know.
I don't know.
You should have your daughters doing that for Christmas.
They have, um, they have like full white lines.
Like track sedals.
Like, oh, dude.
And suits with the logos ironed on.
Like the moms made like custom cheerleading gear
for the girls.
There's a bunch of little sisters on the team.
So they all wear it.
And we're are there just cheering and stuff
with signs up on the glass and everything.
Like a full blown booster.
They got a full one little sister booster club.
And we go on the ice, little sisters and brothers
give high fives and stuff, which is sick.
It's awesome.
Yeah, that's great.
That's great.
I would I would actually found a way
to get out there this weekend.
I live for that kind of stuff.
But there's big stuff happen in Albany.
And I don't know if you're on the social media out there.
I don't even know if you get social media
and Michael off in a city like Green Bay
because it's so out there.
But Michael is on his way to Troy, New York this weekend
because we got the NCM and regionals.
There he is.
What's up?
Gee, I'm fired up.
I'm fired up not even to because let alone the NHL talent
we're going to see in Albany.
I mean, Max plant, Michael Hage, Gavin McKenna,
Jackson Smith who's joined the show.
It's endless.
But I'm excited to see Troy, New York.
I've never been army.
So getting to see Rose in the rock in his bar
and his buddies.
I think he's got a suite for the game.
So I'm sure it'll be fun in there.
I'm fired up.
I'm going to take him down to dinosaur barbecue
the next day after a bad hangover
and get him that spread that you got me
that tried to bring me back to life
at your Hall of Fame and ceremony.
But yeah, I'm sure he's going to end up
in the same state you were on that trip.
Yeah, we got a great skit.
I mean, the teams we got in Albany were,
we couldn't beat it.
We could not beat it with the NHL players,
future NHL players, LB here.
And I mean, any of those three teams
could win the national title.
Yeah, sorry, Bentley.
Yeah, I was going to say right now, Bentley,
but I couldn't agree more.
Couldn't agree more.
I mean, Michigan, Penn State,
UMD is flying under the radar here too
with the plant brothers.
So yeah, I'm fired up.
I'm fired up to get there.
I'm fired up to see all things Troy, New York,
but I'm fired up to watch some great college.
So when are you going, gee,
what's the weekend going to look like?
Are you still there as murals hosting you
at his new house, putting you to work?
So I got a hotel.
I wanted to see the murals offered.
He offered me to stay in his house,
but he also said the kids wake him up
around like 5am every day, 5.30.
So I said, you know what,
I'll stay at the finest Marriott
in all of Troy.
So I'm staying at the Marriott on the river in Troy.
So were I stayed?
Yep.
Same spot.
Great spot.
Great spot.
Murals, murals, marriots.
Nice.
But I'm fired up.
I can't wait to get there.
Maybe go, can we go over and you think we'll have time
to go see RPI's arena quick?
Yeah, we can, we can, we can, we'll,
we'll jam everything in.
I scoop you up.
We'll do a whole tour to Troy,
all the food spots.
I see some stuff coming in the socials.
They want you to try this.
That everything.
I don't know if there's enough time.
We have so much good stuff here,
but we'll shoot right up to RPI soon as you get in town.
Shoot you by here.
I never end up bringing army by my house
or my parents' house,
but I'll try to make sure you get those on the tour.
Yeah, I got to see the new place.
I gotta.
And I want army.
I'm going to do some investigating.
That's what I'm getting boots on the ground.
I'm going to talk to the electricians.
The call and trackers.
I'm going to talk to the local laundromat.
I'm talking to everyone.
I'm saying, Hey, it's murals in here every day.
And I don't know what he says he is.
Just for you, army.
Dude, you got to go.
I saw people on the internet saying
you got to do Ohio's tape,
like documentary series on murals,
like a day in the life of murals.
I forget who said that on social media.
I saw it, but I was like, oh my god.
I would, I would legit for me.
This is like a pride and passion of me with like murals
is like the list, what he does,
like how busy he is.
Like, is he shoveling snow when there's no snow?
I don't know.
I don't know how he shoveling rocks.
I got all these rocks out on my lawn now that the snow melted.
I got to move around.
I got to get ready for the grass.
Got to get the, what did they call it when they spray it?
Hydro seeding.
Gotta get ready for that.
I got two questions.
No, for you murals.
One, Vickers will he be there with his leather jacket?
No, Vickers won't be here.
He's down in Texas.
Okay, two.
Will you be wearing your red RPI jacket?
Wow, wow.
No, I think I think I have to save that for only events.
They're at I can't represent.
Aren't you like a woman?
Aren't you a bad booster right there?
I thought we're trying to scooped up.
I don't know.
I haven't, yeah, we haven't come to that.
I'm going to have to talk to the RJC, the committee.
He's seen in it.
Like what is playing on one of these teams you're at?
You're wearing the jacket and the crowd with the boys
and they see you and they want to transfer
getting the portal after.
You've got to represent.
We need our business cards too.
We can just hand them to players, just hand them out.
Well, I will be kidnapping Gavin McKenna at some point
through the weekend.
So when you do see him gone missing,
he will be at the RPI campus.
He will be at my house looking at the basement
where I offered to build him.
And, hey, just something else I predicted.
I would get him to the capital district this season.
Wow, yes.
He's here.
I will say this.
The only thing he's probably going to have anything to do
with the engineers is talking to an engineer
who's going to like build a contraption
to put people's jaws back together.
So I might have to bring him to the rock with us
and make sure we get out of there our riker now.
But I will not, I don't know about the red jacket,
but I did.
It's a perfect segue.
I did order eight game notes t-shirts last night
on the bar stool sports website.
You can pop it up here.
I ordered eight of them every size imaginable.
And I hit the button and I didn't even think about it.
I'm like, oh, no, I don't know when they're going to come.
But I just made a call down to the bar stool office.
I got a contact down there.
He or she will be trying this process,
the warehouse or whatever.
Get them to me by Friday.
So when I get to launch them,
I can maybe hand some out.
I could have one on.
I got the Penn State's big chick with shirt on here.
So here's the thing we have been given a little,
I don't want to say ultimatum.
But the bar stool merchant team has said,
hey, game notes, you want more merch
after this t-shirt got to sell 500.
So we need the chat to step up here.
We get to 500 t-shirts.
We get hats.
We get a nice game notes, 47 brand hat.
We'll let the chat, you know, join in on what it looks like.
But we need to sell 500 t-shirts.
So yeah, Singsy for boys.
Singsy for 500 himself.
Singsy, Rally the chat, man.
You're the captain.
You're the captain.
It's Laura's in today.
Is he Laura in there?
Libby, the usuals.
Alyssa, let's go.
We already got eight.
I'm already in for eight.
I'll go get eight more today.
Unreal.
So looking forward to the challenge.
That's a great little challenge for game notes.
I like that.
We're slinging t-shirts.
We're slinging merch.
We're slinging merch.
Yeah, so it's going to be a great weekend.
Follow us along.
We'll be updating on everything.
Doing whatever we can to let you ride along with us, Armdog.
Is Mimsie going to pop down?
Invites there.
Invites there.
I was going to shoot Mimsie a taxi.
We should surprise murals with and just show up.
But I don't know how it is to get from London, Ontario
to Albany, New York.
It's got to be.
It's just have an hour drive.
It's kind of a brutal drive.
London's way over by like Detroit.
The boys did it from here when we went to Chicklets Cup.
All those guys will be there.
G all those all the Chicklets Cup champions you've met
through the years.
They'll be around.
Yeah, they're two or three times champs.
Dude, I got to pay them some respect.
Maybe we'll get on to bring the trophy out for the show.
Hey, was that Carolyn Harvey?
She won a Pink Whitney trophy at the thing?
Is that right?
No, that was the Keller.
That was Megan Keller.
Oh, Megan Keller.
Oh, because I just saw she won that Paddy Casmire.
She won everything else.
She won everything else.
I got that somewhere right here.
Gold medal.
What a run for her.
Hey, what a run.
Yeah, I did see it right here.
I have that from Kyle Kushman, Olympic Gold,
NCAA National Championship, Olympic MVP,
Paddy Casmire Award, Olympic Best Defender,
Olympic All-Star, WCHA Player of the Year,
First Team All-American.
Next up, PWHL Draft.
She might be the greatest American defense ever.
Right?
She's going first overall, too.
It's only up from here for her, which is crazy.
Not that other chick that you guys had on?
She's nasty, too.
Abby Murphy's filthy.
Oh, she's nasty.
Unbelievable.
I think she's too.
All first two picks.
You get a good player either way.
You get a good player either way.
Yeah, not Harvey's on real.
Wow, what a year.
College sports.
College hockey.
Men's and women's look out.
One more intro topic before we get moving around here.
We got to get posh in here.
Devils, good win last night.
Just ruining your draft stuff, but bigger news.
You got bigger stuff than the Devils.
Yeah, we got bigger things to talk about the Devils.
They're in the rearview mirror for now.
But tomorrow, we got a big sandbagger dropping
with the Toronto Blue Jays.
This is quite an interesting one.
Things go off the rails, lots of laughs.
It's a really good golf shot.
That's tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Eastern that drops.
Don't miss it.
It's going to be a good one.
Wow, I heard this one's crazy.
The boys were really going crazy about this one.
How good it was.
Yeah, what a graphic there.
The boys look great.
Boys look good.
But what's timing on this too?
An opening day of baseball tonight, right?
So great timing on this.
Jays open up on Friday.
So it works out great.
All right, posh.
I like that a lot.
It's a good job.
I got a couple of things.
I got to clean up from a few shows ago.
I was talking Harpy.
I hockey called the kid BJ Lee.
No, it's CJ Lee.
I got a lot of harassment on that one right away.
And then last week, arm dog,
you got me in a lot of trouble.
A lot of trouble.
Finished up the show here.
Went over to my parents house.
My dad.
I'm not a hockey guy.
I'm not a hockey guy.
He brings me downstairs.
He's like, look at this.
He's like 400 points in men's league.
Top 10 all time men's league.
He goes, I was a hockey guy.
He goes, I can't do that.
Tell me that because you were like asking me,
like, oh, was your dad in the hockey?
Like did he play?
And I'm like, no, he just kind of,
he got me around good coaches.
I asked you, yeah, because how do you like your path
and how it all worked?
And like, if your dad was giving you advice or that work,
or how was he involved in that area?
And you, you coughed up that he's not really hockeying now.
He had like a little mini stick
that he had like 201 point season beer league.
So yeah.
So couple, couple, couple down and backs for me there.
I like that your dad did that to you though.
That's great.
And he was all offended about it.
Brought the receipts right away.
What a beauty that he did that.
Like, that's what I'm going to be like.
I'm going to be like that with my kid.
When my kid has these over.
Oh, he played, but like way back on the day.
You know, girls, we're going to get that.
You know, we're going to get that.
Yep.
Exactly.
You know, I described my dad.
I described my dad like they're like, did your dad play?
I'm like, yeah, he played a little junior.
And then he played like senior hockey leagues.
This is how I describe it.
But it was like the NHL back then.
Pretty much like the senior hockey.
Girls dad invented.
I saw that nice one.
Speaking of Saskatchewan, uh, senior league,
our buddy Pete Van Damier just announced his retirement.
He said just a text and we're going to get him on eventually.
It just wasn't the right time with all the NCAA talk right now.
But we'll get Pete to come on some time.
And his stories are going to be out of control.
We might have to go to a tape delay for our game notes when we have him on.
Yeah. Well, he won.
And he played against his brothers going out of the championship
in Alberta in some Alberta senior league.
They got all these weird leagues.
I don't know what exactly it's called.
Maybe the chattel know, but like he's playing against Joe and Dan
his brothers and he's like the old goat godfather playing still.
And they actually his Pete beat his brothers in the final.
I think they swept them for nothing.
So, yeah, Merle's dad's first name is Renssel here.
How's it going?
Yeah, I would hope so.
Merle's dad actually invented Merle's.
Yeah, look at the chat.
Look at the respect for your dad and the chat.
Your dad will be proud of that.
Yeah, he's over there watching.
I'm sure he's there watching live.
Merle's invented his own dad.
That's the best one.
Livy on fire.
That's on fire today.
So, yeah, pistol Pete.
He went on on a high plane senior hockey.
So they'll still alive and well.
But it, you know, there's there's seasons done.
But everyone's like we're at nationals.
Like CHL playoffs are starting.
You got the NCAA NHLs on the horizon.
AHL be coming up soon too.
So, it's that time of the year is baseball starts.
So does hockey playoffs in a way we go, Mer?
Yeah, we're buzzing here.
And since last time we left,
we know we were talking about all the college,
the, you know, the, what do you want to call it?
The league, the league finals we're all going on
or the semi finals, final fours,
whatever you want to call them for that.
And just quickly, if you've been living under a stone,
hockey East Champ Merrimax,
surprised everybody.
Number eight seed.
ECAC Championship Dartmouth,
be Princeton in overtime.
Dartmouth was the best team pretty much all year long.
Like right from the start.
Quinn and Piac was there for a bit.
But Dartmouth was the team to beat.
The NCHC champ then her.
Weird big surprise there.
They just always win in March.
Big 10 champ Michigan.
And then the Atlantic hockey champion
that I just talked about Bentley.
Mike Zback, the home of Mike Zback,
who you guys met last year.
He was on the first ever division one team at Bentley.
So it's kind of the same thing.
Like you said, well, he was at Bentley when they were,
you know, not really different.
Playing at the water town rink.
Yeah.
So I feel like it's like we can't,
we'd be remiss if we didn't like kind of talk about Merrimax here.
First hockey East Champ ever in the program's history.
They're dancing for the first time.
Beat Providence, Yukon, UMass, Max Lundgren.
This goalie, I mean, this hockey East run,
like it's changed this kid's life, I think.
Like this kid is,
I now I believe he's committed to go to
Bruins Development Camp this summer.
Um, undrafted kid obviously,
but this is, uh,
it's been a really cool run from Merrimax to
just being in the area.
I live, I grew up 15 minutes from Merrimax.
My brother went there only because my dad does all the AC at Merrimax.
And, uh, it's, uh, it's pretty cool.
Like the area is very, very fired up from Merrimax right now.
It's a school of, you know, 4,000, 5,000 people, not me.
Actually, I think less than that,
it's a very small school.
So they're very, very prideful in this win.
And it's, uh, being at the garden,
and I was there for the semifinals,
they packed that place.
I didn't know Merrimax had that kind of gusto.
Like they, they were the loudest of the 14s there.
BC was there, Yukon was there.
Like they absolutely fucking packed that place.
So just being from the area,
very, very cool to see what Merrimax called.
You can pick like how many schools being from the area.
Like how many schools are around you there?
Man, it's, it's nuts.
I mean, Merrimax and UMass Lowell,
both within 20 minutes of where I grew up.
Then where I, where I'm sitting right now,
which is 20 minutes from where I grew up.
I mean, I'm 10 minutes from BU,
20 minutes from BC,
10 minutes from Northeastern,
10 minutes from Harvard,
for 15 minutes from Harvard.
It's crazy.
40 minutes from Providence,
uh, over like two hours to Yukon,
two hours to Quinnipiac.
It's, it's less than an hour to UNH.
It's, it's insane, man.
That is insane.
Honestly, that whole area is insane for all that.
So I, I didn't even know that,
like till like Cruz went out to Rhode Island.
And then I know Providence is like 20, 30 minutes
from where they're at.
But then like Boston, like even Merrimax,
even some of these other schools,
like, you know, following,
getting to the, you know, frozen for.
And like, where's this school?
Look it up.
I'm like, whoa, Quinnipiac's over there.
Oh, shit.
I had no clue.
Like everything is like rammed over in that corner of like
Boston area.
It is insane.
And like, so the travel's easy.
It's a hockey hotbed area for it also.
No wonder, hey, and that Merrimax seems like they got a little
lightning in a bottle right now.
Hey, like, could they be one of those sneaky teams going in there?
I mean, if they didn't get one of the worst matchups,
probably could ever get is they got to travel out to Sioux Falls
and play North Dakota, basically a home game.
The North Dakota fans travel.
That's going to be a tough place to play.
But like this team, though, if they have this small student body,
like, it's just like they got a little extra in them right now.
These kids got a belief.
It's called a chalky, you know, like,
like anything can happen really.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if you see Merrimax have a decent
showing out in in Sioux Falls just because like,
this is one of the biggest moments in like school history.
From an athletic standpoint, Merrimax really hasn't done what they're doing
right now in hockey at the division one level.
So I wouldn't be surprised, but there's going to be,
there's going to be a thousand people at those games.
Like, there's going to be no one at those games in Sioux Falls.
Because I mean, real quick, like, think about that.
We have three teams that are all playing within, I don't know,
75, 100 miles of each other.
They all, they all were then 75 miles of each other.
We got the DCU hosting games this year.
And they send them all to Sioux Falls.
It's just so mind-blowingly fucking stupid.
And they continue to do this shit every year.
Yeah, maybe you can pop up the bracket.
We had a little game notes bracket there.
Yeah.
Who's kind of stupid?
I know we've been beating the drums and you have both you guys to do like games
closer to areas or the winners of their leagues to host,
which in my brain makes sense.
Like, there should be a benefit to like winning.
But who lately online has been, I've seen a lot of,
like, higher people.
David Carle.
I think David Carle.
Yeah, David Carle, Denver coach.
Brandon Narado went on morning cup of hockey yesterday,
talked about it.
Hastings, when we did Chicklachew, the Wisconsin coach,
was pretty adamant about it.
I think Brad Berria, North Dakota might be the only coach who was against it.
But every coach I've ever talked to is completely for this.
It's, it's where you play the season for, right?
Like you, you, you got to, you earn the whole mice advantage.
It's like, what is, what did Michigan earn by getting,
by having to travel to Albany?
I mean, they do get to play Bentley, but we're like Michigan State.
Like Michigan State has to travel the Worcester.
Worcester, Massachusetts, to play a tough Yukon team,
where Yukon's actually pretty close to Worcester.
So it's kind of like, it's just, it makes no sense.
And I know we're going to get to the game.
I think we started it.
I think we started it with you complaining about it, both you two.
And then I was like, yeah, that doesn't make sense in my brain
that was like fresh on the scene.
And then Carl said something last year.
And now we've got way more influential people now piping it on.
I know Bucci's piped in about who we need.
And we started again.
I'm at the end of last pod was biz.
You could see the wheels turning in biz head.
And he's like, wait, you're right.
Like, this is crazy.
We got to grow the game.
And I'm like, yes, biz.
Like, yes, like, get on the phone with Gary.
Call who you got to call.
Get the most connected man.
And I see all these guys loading up today to travel or yesterday
and their private planes anyway.
So what's the difference?
You could have all these games at home.
You could play Friday and Sunday.
And now it gets upset.
Just move it around high seat.
All these schools are paying for their student body
to go to these games and buy tickets and stuff too.
Like, it's just wasting all this stuff.
I mean, they might do it anyways.
If it's at like one someone else's home rink.
But it's just like, maybe you can't buy any
because the home team will buy them all up.
But I mean, like, can we just say,
imagine a Michigan versus Penn State regional final championship
game to go to the frozen for at ghost arena?
That on a fry on like a Saturday night.
That would be incredible.
And that's that's what Nash.
That's what because we finally get these games
on national television, right?
Like all season, we're playing in the bush leagues.
It's ESPN plus.
We have student broadcasts.
People are fucking broadcasting on phones.
We finally got on national TV with this tournament.
And what happens?
They're playing in empty arenas now.
When I was a kid, if I'm sitting there with my dad
watching an empty arena, I'm not going to look at my dad
and say, hey, Dad, can you take me there?
I want to go to that.
That looks like something I want to be a part of.
But if you're at ghost arena, you see the band,
the fans basically jumping on the ice after a big OT winner,
like in the big 10 championship.
First thing I'm going to do is say, Dad, I want to go.
Whatever it takes, like we got to go.
So like, is there like, I, like humor me with this?
Like, is there a reason?
Like, what's the, what's the reason?
Is it like, are they playing in ranks that hold more fans
that they're, they're kind of thinking like, oh,
maybe we'll get 18,000 at this like venue?
I should say.
I mean, I think they probably just trying
to be like the basketball tournament.
I mean, you go back army, back when I played,
there was only 12 teams that made the tournament.
So it was even more like crazy.
How they, I don't even remember.
I think they did host, but the pushback is the gate.
Like, college hockey relies on the gate.
They rely on the ticket sales.
And it, it just makes no sense, though,
because if you're doing a game at 1 p.m.
on a Thursday in the middle of nowhere,
no one's going to go anyways.
So put it on campus.
And even if it's, I'd rather 3,000 people
in a packed arena than, I don't know,
2007 in 16,000 person arena.
You know what I mean?
That's like Atlanta when I was playing in Atlanta.
It's like, what do you buy a ticket for like 60 bucks?
Let's just say, but like, wouldn't you rather sell your tickets
or like 30 bucks or like 20 bucks
and have the visual of a full rank
and people turn it on?
And they're like, whoa, shit, that place is packed people.
Like, wouldn't you rather just sell the ticket
and hang on to the ticket for that price
at that point when your product is what it is?
And I would think you want to your point, gee,
that packed house, that atmosphere,
that energy that sells, that people want to get drawn into
and see that.
So it needs a bit better.
That needs to get fixed.
It needs to get better.
And then like people bitch and complain about the money.
And it's like, we live in this digital world.
Like, there's other ways to make money.
Sell the social clips.
Sell a YouTube stream.
Get it on Hulu or something.
Like, there's all these different ways,
sell sponsorship on the corner of the stream.
Like, there's so many different ways
that they can make money and using the gate
as like an excuse as to why they're not doing this.
It's lazy and it's just fucking bullshit.
Hey, Murl, let me ask you this.
Was there that NPI shit and everything leading up to this
and like, who's slotting in?
Was there not like a little bit of like,
oh, we got to wait and see
because this year was kind of weird, right?
Yeah, and back in the old days.
Back in the old days are right now.
This year, what happened?
Like, was in there like some teams that maybe didn't.
No, just on those like championships.
Yeah, it's because like Dartmouth won.
So when Dartmouth won, that got Wisconsin
and I believe are Yukon in.
Because if Princeton had stolen that bid,
ECAC would have had Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, Cornell
as automatics or at large.
And then Princeton would have got the automatic.
So once Dartmouth was in already,
that got Yukon in or Wisconsin in
and vice versa, somewhere else
there was another one that held on.
But you know what I mean with that?
Yeah, I'm seeing.
Like Marimax on a spot.
This Augustana was holding everyone hostage, right?
For a bit that team.
I think if Ohio State beat, if Ohio State was it.
Yeah, if Ohio State had beaten Michigan,
then Augustana would have gotten in, I believe.
Or Yukon or Yukon or Wisconsin would be at.
Yeah, Yukon would be at something, I don't know.
Yes, you're correct.
Yeah, craziness with that though.
I remember just seeing some of that stuff last week
as it was all coming in, coming down into this.
So yeah, wild stuff, wild stuff.
Yeah, like Marimax win probably knocked Augustana out.
You know, because they were the eight seed hockey East,
they had no business in there where if Yukon was going to make it
or you know, who else provenance was already making it.
So that's what used to happen with us too.
Back in our day, even though it was 12 teams,
there was the RPI ranking and pairwise ranking.
It was kind of a little bit mixed back then.
It's not as set in stone as it is today,
but we would be rooting for different games
throughout that last weekend too.
Like, oh, we need them to get the automatic
so we can take the at large.
Yeah, that's what makes it so that makes it so confusing too.
I think for the average fan is like, what is going on here?
That's with me.
That's where I'm at with that.
So mix the games, put them in the winners, ranks, make it cool,
and then simplify the, the, the, the, the, the ranks.
Yeah, I think we should try the 32 teams.
I think we should try to make the tournament even bigger.
Why not? There's so many teams now that are good,
especially with all these WHL, CHL players coming down.
I think you can have 32, like,
that would be your teams.
That would be nuts.
And that would make your money back.
You'll get a whole extra week in a hockey.
Well, because and they take the week off, right?
Like after the frozen four, there's that full week.
So they still have another week where they can play play off hockey.
Yeah, yeah, that's, that should be our next move.
I do you guys,
what can I do to these teams?
I wanted to ask you guys though,
we did have some big news over the, over the weekend,
or this past week, Brett Larson,
was named the head coach of the University of Minnesota.
What'd you guys think of that higher?
Another St. Cloud state guy coming into coach the golfers.
Yeah, I went quick.
I thought they would take a little bit longer there.
I thought I was going to see some more names than in the interview.
I think there's only a few guys,
but Tony was one who's the Hartford coach.
Yep.
And then was it, I think it was Augustanas.
Was it Augustanas?
Yeah, it was.
Was it Augustanas?
Yes.
Was the thing, but yeah, Larson,
I saw an interesting thing.
He was the assistant coach under Duluth there when they were winning there.
So he obviously knows what he's doing.
St. Cloud, he had some great teams up there.
They always seem to get upset,
but just from hearing his interviews and stuff,
seems like a great guy, great coach, good leader.
And yeah, I wish him good luck there.
You got to get Minnesota back.
You got to.
And he has in the chat,
is saying replaced Moscow a second time.
Mm.
Yeah, he was, Matsuko was in St. Cloud before.
Wow, that's kind of funny.
He just follows Matsuko in court, his left overs.
But that was fast.
That was super quick, though.
They knew they wanted their guy, the bottom, right?
Yeah, like the portal opens up soon.
I did see some golfers fans say, you know, a bit of an underwhelming higher.
You know, I think St. Clouds kind of struggled the past two seasons.
So they're kind of like, hey, like what have you done for me lately?
You know, Matsuko had won the big 10 regular season title last year.
This guy wasn't even in the playoffs last year.
So what kind of, what are we doing here?
But I think he's a younger coach.
I saw Brock Faber had some great words about him, you know, that he's just able to coach
the younger generation really well.
And so I think it's a great hire.
Awesome.
Yeah, gee, I want to ask you about the other news from college.
Hagen's leaves, goes to the Bruins, signs an ATL.
Don't even know what that means.
But I did see he's going to play tonight.
He's going to play in Springfield tonight for Providence.
And I think that once he plays that game, then his amateur status is Donnie.
Won't be able to go back to college.
Yeah.
So I think the notion that he could go back to BC next season is that ain't happening.
I'm the end of the day.
Look, like I said on checklets, like, my biggest worry was a Cutter Go TA situation.
So as long as he's now in the organization, I'm really not too worried.
This is the route that Charlie McAvoy did in 2017, you know, signed the ATO, went down
to Providence.
And after four games, Crew got hurt, Carlo got hurt, they called him up and he hasn't looked
back since.
So if that's the game plan here, I'm fine with it.
The Providence Bruins are a very good HL team this year.
They're going to make them all their cup run.
So I'd like to ask you guys, like, what do you find more valuable being with HL team?
With an NHL club learning, not playing as much, you know, being sitting up in the box,
but practicing with these guys every day and learning how to be an NHL player.
Or would you say go on that call their cup run and down in the HL?
Well, I always wish that they pulled me up after college.
I feel like I had the confidence from college.
I had the swagger.
I was like, I would have jumped right into that NHL and I would have acted like kind
of like a donkey probably.
I would have just been like, oh, this is college.
I score every game and this is what I'm going to do.
I'm a hot shot like not like saying it, but like just act like feeling that way, getting
into the game, grabbing the puck instead of later on in my career when it was like, oh,
I played in the HL.
Now it was nervous about the NHL.
Yeah, exactly.
And that's a good boy because Cole Cohen brought that up on morning cup of hockey today.
It's like, what if he goes down the to the HL and struggles?
Like that's not good because then it's like, he's going to lose all confidence.
And he heads into next season being like, oh, shit, am I even going to make this team?
And with a guy like James Higgins, it's like confidence is the biggest thing.
Like you know he has the skill, you know he has the ability, but you need to be confident
with the puck.
I just think like every player is different, right?
So we have to look at that and what they're looking at with him.
He's not like huge, very talented and smart.
I don't know if he had like he's fast, but he's not like quick really yet.
And I think that will come have a really good team down there.
Like I think of wit.
Remember when wit did that with us?
He came out of college joined us went to the colder cup final like on a big run.
But I think the penguin season was done by then that's when the HL used to play later.
So I in an ideal world, like without these contracts and working about years on it, years
off it, which I don't understand why anybody cares about that anymore.
The amount of money they're giving them all right away.
Who cares if it's in two years or three years?
They're still going to get it.
I would give him that I would have gave him a couple games in the Bruins and just see.
And if he does struggle great, then send him down to Providence and ride the colder cup.
Colder cup playoff experience is awesome.
You do want him to have that and he's going to play with a lot of those guys in five years
in the next five years.
Is it this signing?
They don't want to burn a year.
Is this what they're babying on him right now?
I think so.
I probably what it is.
I don't know.
I don't think teams care about that as much as we say about it, you know, like from
what I've heard, I believe that, well, Sweeney doesn't believe that he's ready for
the NHL yet.
It sounds like that.
That's what it is.
And he didn't, I wouldn't say he looked like he didn't stand out like in the hockey
East semis.
Like I thought his final game, he didn't look like I wasn't watching being like, oh,
that kid could step into the NHL tomorrow.
There were games he had in the second half where you're like, oh, he could easily jump
into the NHL.
But when the whole world or at least, you know, when all the scouts were watching, he
didn't play great.
So I guess we'll see again, I'm not, I'm not angry here.
I don't, I don't think it's the end of the world.
Hopefully he goes down to Providence does well.
They go on a cup, call their cup run and we see him next season.
And in, in best case scenario, he's downing in Providence for a week and we see him in
Boston next week.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My score four goals tonight in Springfield.
Well, it's all right.
Somebody got that in.
Drew Fortescue signed off of that team as well.
Caleb Degener, Degener signed with Utah.
He was the fourth overall pick.
So that's a nice little ad for Utah for this playoff run here.
My sources are telling me, called in, Fortescue will be playing Friday night his NHL debut
at MSG.
So if, if you're a big Drew Fortescue fan, like myself, yeah, he's a guy because I saw
him in those world juniors when I was over in Sweden.
He's the guy.
He's like a slave in where he's not going to get a ton of points.
He's not going to run the top on your power play.
And hopefully, most nights, you won't notice him.
He's that kind of guy.
You know, just clean up everything.
He's sleeping one name.
He's up.
Yep.
He's just one name like Madonna.
I used that on the broadcast of the Carolina game, the other day, Merles, I stole your
line.
Slavin guy has only one name like Madonna.
I love that.
He's on the broadcast.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
But perfect segue.
One good, good great college demand to another.
We got him here, Jackson Smith first, first round pick Columbus Blue Jack.
It's current demand for Penn State.
Oh, still in the doors, still in the door.
Yeah.
I mean, still got a little bit left here, got a, got a month left in these, these things
and then move out, move into the, move into the hockey us.
So yeah.
We're a rounder.
You think they get this guy in the hockey house off the jump?
Humble.
Humble western leaker, bud.
Oh, yeah.
Always stay humble.
You know, I got to do my, I got to do my dues.
So yeah, it's nice.
I'm surprised you guys aren't on your way to Albany, but I guess I understand because
they're so worried about me recruiting all you guys over to RBI to check out the campus.
So, they'll probably just let you fly in for the day of the game, but.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
Are you for the NCA's to get going?
Oh, man.
Like so pumped.
This is going to be super cool.
I mean, I've seen it growing up even and now that I get to be a part of it, even playing
in the West.
So like you said, you didn't really think that this would be possible.
So now that I get a chance to do both sides of this, it's, it's insane.
So I mean, I'm excited to get down there and, you know, win some games.
I want to ask you, is it, is it confusing to you like how you get into this, how you
qualify for this tournament, even for you?
Colby, you think it's so much more confusing than it is to me?
I'm lost.
I mean, I'm right on the side.
I got, I'm still, I mean, I've been, I've been here for a year and, you know, the boys
are like telling me about like all the rankings and telling me how like it works and
MPI.
I'm like, yeah, I don't know.
It just happens and, you know, where you end up, you end up, I just, you know, try
to worry about winning the games instead of us, yeah, exactly, exactly that's all
you got to do.
So I kind of, I want to look away from the, from the big game this weekend, take your
mind off things and, uh, so I was doing some asking and obviously as you know, business
pitching Gavin on the right hook and, and his, uh, his fishing line and, uh, that obviously
stemmed from the fly fishing classes that we heard that Gavin took.
So I was also told spring semester that you and Gavin are taking a golf class where
you guys go golf all the time.
Penn State is the best place on earth.
Like tell me about this.
Yeah.
I mean, me and Gavin, what, uh, what we did both semesters is, uh, we asked our academic
advisors just both put me and him both in all the same classes.
So, you know, we're both in that fly fishing class, same with Charlie Serato and me and
Gav, yeah, we're in this golf class and what you do is, uh, well, the weather's starting
to get a bit warmer here.
So you just go into the golf course and it's a short game once you're working on your
puttin and, uh, and you're chipping, but I mean, it's nice too.
I think, uh, you know, I'm not a bad golfer.
So it, uh, it ends up being a pretty easy, easy class for me.
I've heard that.
I've heard you're a great golfer.
What's the handicap?
Um, out of two.
So I'm getting it, getting it down there, hopefully this summer I can get to a scratch,
but yeah, golf, so I have been golfing since I was like four years old.
Three idiots, us three idiots to do college sandbaggers, yeah, I would be on, uh, I love
it.
Yeah.
Up on a little college sandbagger.
I mean, I'd have to carry him.
I don't know how good he is, but have you have played with him?
He's, I'd have to carry him, but it's all good.
Well, he's got a full semester to work on the short game.
Like, this is, yeah, look, is a professor like a real golfer or is this like just a complete
no showers?
Do you have like a club pro teaching?
Yeah.
You learning something?
I think so.
I mean, he seems like he's not like, he's a nice guy.
He seems like a good guy.
I think he's a good golfer.
He could do a handicap, Murr, I mean, I just, I just kind of go up there.
Once I'm at the course, I kind of just go up there and do my thing and just, uh,
yeah.
He's the mechanic of the future.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Just try to hop on there and help the boys out.
So I get, I mean, speaking of mechanic, like what a crazy year it's been for him, uh,
the McGregor Selly, like that.
You guys see him pull that, that stunt off.
You got to be like, holy shit, the balls on this kid.
You guys must have been going crazy.
I mean, yeah, he's been, he was talking about it since like after it.
He was like, once I score, uh, I got to hit it.
And then he finally, he let, he let it go and, uh, yeah, I mean, I was, when I was there,
I was on the ice and I was like, oh, this is, this is going to go pretty viral here.
So yeah, he's got, he's got, he's definitely got a pair of balls on him.
We'll give him that.
He's not afraid of the, he's not afraid of the, of the light there.
So he loves it.
I'm going to ask you about your season from last year, coming in now, coming into this,
right?
11 goals last year, I think in, in the Western league, 11 goals this year in college hockey.
Was it as much as, did you do as good as you expected?
Because you're kind of coming in like, I don't know how this could go, right?
Like there's, it's a little different when you're back home and you're like skating
in the summer with other guys in the Western league and like, you kind of know where you
sit and stand.
You have a little feel, but this is like you're playing against older kids, different leagues,
like different games, weekends.
What was your overall take away so far from, you know, he still worked to do, but so far
from what you experienced this year as a player?
Yeah, I mean, college hockey is tough.
Uh, it's a tough league and, uh, you know, coming into it, I knew it was going to be tough.
But you hear a lot and you're just playing against older guys who are, who are really
strong and competitive.
So coming into it, I wasn't sure how I was going to do, you know, it's like, it's
the first year that CHL players can go.
So yeah, I wasn't 100% sure, but I thought, I mean, personally, I felt they've had a really
good year and I turned it on with the goal scoring at the end of last year.
I only had two goals up until like the last 11 games last year and then, you know, got
a hot and scored nine at the, at then and then, um, since then, I've kind of just carried
it on.
Once I switched the white stick, it seems to, seems to have done me pretty nice.
So I don't know if that's it, but it's, uh, it's something that I've just kept now.
So what was the recruiting process like to end up at Penn State, just one trip to champs
and you were kind of like, uh, I'm locked in here.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, they were like, they were the first thing that reached out, um, it was kind
of late like, it wasn't till you 18 worlds that tournament that, uh, they, uh, they talked
to my dad.
Um, and they were kind of like, I didn't talk to many teams, honestly, like, uh, I don't
know if it was under the radar or what, but, uh, I was kind of, I was interested in Penn
State.
Of course, you hear a lot about it.
Um, you see the place and you're like, wow, um, and then I went on their recruitment
trip and I was still not sure if I was going to stay in the dub for another year, come
to college.
But once I came on their recruitment trip and, you know, you see the place and I know,
I know you guys have seen it and you're like, you're, uh, it's, it's, it's, it's almost
impossible to turn it down.
So once I stepped foot on campus, I was like, I told my parents, I'm like, guys, there's,
there's no chance I'm not going here.
So then I came here and I, this has been the most fun year of my life, um, and I think
it's been good for my hockey development.
And, um, yeah, it's, it's honestly just been probably the best decision I've made so
far.
Coach Gennowski too, though, right?
Like that guy, he's such a, he's such a cool dude.
Oh, yeah.
Seems like an awesome dude to drink beers with, obviously, you're not doing that with
him.
Talk about it.
That was just an awesome coach, huh?
Oh, yeah.
He's, uh, he's unbelievable.
Like great guy, great coach and, um, like off the ice, he's, he's a guy that's always
around the boys.
He's, uh, he's always playing ping pong and getting competitive around us.
So, um, he, he, uh, our big thing is always being competitive, like, even with the boys
when you're on the ice, off the ice, like we always want to be competitive and he brings
that too.
He's all right.
And he's like, Oh, yeah.
He's, he's, he's a lot of darts and darts.
I think he was mechanic and mother fucker beat me the other day.
Like, he loves it.
Yeah.
Oh, he goes around.
He's flying around after practice.
He's yelling at boys to complete darts with him.
And he's, he's, uh, he's always trying to get to the top of every board there, chessboard,
darts board ping pong boardies.
Uh, I think he put all those things in there because those are things he's best at.
But, uh, yeah, he loves it.
And it's awesome to see and it's it brings it up the best.
And you know, I think, hey, maybe next time we go there, boys, we could get something
get Jackson up into the skull and crossbones club we were in when we were there up in that
like fancy up like he was there. Yeah. He was there. He's in the club. Yeah. Have
another one army. Yeah. We talked to him. We were talking. I remember that. Oh, yeah.
I made my way. I made my way up there. You know, I got my connections to get there.
So I got to be connected. Yeah. Exactly. Just a dinner spot. Just a dinner spot. Come
on. Yeah. It was my upstairs for dinner. That was fun. No, I mean, it was great to meet
you guys. So I mean, it was it was cool for me. I first time meeting spit and shit. That's
I'm like, I grew up my dad and driving to games on and Peeley listening to you guys. So
now that I'm now that I'm a Penn State and you know, get to meet you guys. It was it was that
was like pretty surreal for me. Well, let's talk more about that weekend than that outdoor
game and what was your whole experience on it? Yeah. I mean, that was that was unbelievable.
Like first off, you got the whole weekend was crazy. That first game sold out like a
attendance record at at Pagula. Place was rock in there. I mean, the student section was
homing to everybody. So there's a lot of hype around that and and then you get to the next day
and you wake up and you're like, this is this is game time. And you walk out for warm ups and
you look around and you go out for the first period and you're like, holy shit like this is.
This is happening right now. You got 75,000 people watching you and you're I remember like
start of the year. I'm in the in the stands for the football game and you're watching them.
Then you get to be on the on the field walking to the walking that I service with everybody watching
you. I mean, you don't get much better than that. So I had an unbelievable time. I'm so grateful
that we got the chance to do that. You know, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Probably never
will play in front of that many fans again. So it's something that I'll always remember.
Was that something they sold you on to like in the recruiting process? They're like, hey,
like we're working on this big outdoor game. You're going to be able to play at Beaver Stadium or
is that something that kind of came out of the blue and the boys were just fired up to be a part of it?
Yeah, no, I had no clue. It was like September Pat Kraft came in and talked to us and he's like,
hey, guys, like, let you know we're working on logistics here, but we're going to try to get you
guys a outdoor game at Beaver Stadium. And when we heard that, the boys went wild. Like that was
there we go. That was that was unbelievable for us. And that all worked out.
Your first turn around the sun in College Hockey, where was like the coolest like, you know,
the hometown crowds in these college rinks. I think it's cool being at Penn State at Pagula and
being at some of these other rinks. I went to a BC BU game at BC's ranked. That was really cool.
What's one place on the road that kind of stood out to you? I watched some of your games down
the stretch in Michigan too. That place was rocking for your guys' games. And it was after like
the mechanical thing and it was like you two top teams. So it was like highly volatile. It seemed
in the rink when I was watching on TV. What's what's a place that you love? I mean, dude, like all the
all the places in the big ten are so sick. I mean, you go to every bar and it's so cool seeing
it for the first time you walked into every place and you're like, this is and it's everything is
like kind of new. Every rinks different. So I mean, every rink was super cool, but you know,
I really did like the yoast. I like playing in there. I mean, it's a it's the crowd is
the crowd's vicious, but it makes it fun and the rinks really cool. I love Minnesota too.
But Minnesota is really cool. It's just one huge bowl. So that's pretty cool. And then
other Michigan states crowd was unbelievable. I don't know, like the rinks tough to play in, but
what's what's the last one? There's another one that I can't remember, but
I thought Notre Dame is also really nice. It's kind of like us, but it's like it's a new
modern rink. And I thought that was a really cool rink. And also Notre Dame is some sick jersey.
So that was those are sick to see. Well, we were this is a perfect leading because we were
talking before you came on about the neutral site regional games and just how like awful it is
that they're not playing these games on campus. And how much better it would be for
the TV viewer for the fan in person. And for you guys who were playing in the game,
wouldn't I'll ask you like wouldn't you rather play these games on campus, even if you're
opposing team, like wouldn't it be a lot more fun to have to go into Yos and take down Michigan
as opposed to going to to Albany with me and murals in the crowd, maybe 1500 people.
Yeah, no, it would be it would be really sick, especially home game would be unbelievable.
If we got one at the peg, that would be I would be something special. But I mean, you even see
last year, we get an Allen town, which is like two hours away. And that's a home game. That was a
home game. Like they sell out there. So it's like two hours. Everybody comes. But yeah, I mean,
neutral sites, it's not my decision. But I mean, of course, I think it would be so much cooler,
like even for us, if we like you said, if we went into Yos like in a NCAA tournament game,
like, oh my god, I don't know if I think if we win or lost, I don't know if we're making it out
of their life. But yeah, I mean, that would be that would be so cool. I wish we could do that.
But I mean, it's not and gotta go and make the best out of it and just hope that you win,
make it a Vegas, because if you play in Vegas, that place will be packed.
Exactly. Well, Penn State is only five hours from Albany. So all the Penn State fans listening,
get in the car. Hey, if I could make that drive solo on the Sunday after that outdoor game,
then anybody can handle the drive up and watch you guys play. You're going to get two games
for the price of one Michigan Bentley, the early game. And then you guys have the late game.
I think it's because they want you guys on ESPN because you got the big fan base. You got the
big guy in the Kenna. Obviously, it sounds like you would not change your decision. WHO
at the college, but is there anything that surprised you that you wish you kind of knew so
you can tell the future players that are going to be doing it next season to be ready for it?
Yeah, I think a big thing for me at least was getting into it. It was just the difference in
in style of play. I think that was probably the hardest thing like everybody here. I think it's
just you only play 38 games. So every game, well, technically, I don't even know exactly what,
but every game is so so intense and you always go already every night. So I think that's something
and they play like the because of that, everybody's defense is you're locked down like you got to figure
out how to beat teams and I think for me, especially getting poxed through and that was something
that I struggled with at the start because everybody's way more willing to block shots. It feels like
they're more desperate too. So I think that was something that I had to learn. I think I learned
to pretty well be able to score a couple goals, but yeah, I think that's probably the hardest thing
for me was figuring out how to how to play in this style of hockey. It's been challenging,
but it's been a lot of fun to learn. I think it's just helped me get ready for the next level too.
A lot of highs here. Yeah, just easier to block shots when you got that full cage on.
That is also true. People are a lot less scared and you know, you should play West Point and see
those guys block shots. Yeah, I know. Oh, yeah, they're like, especially those like out like,
there's other conferences. Some of those guys like they just, it's all they do. It's pretty,
it's impressive. Honestly, like, I don't know how they do it. I don't know like their bodies must be,
it must be killing them every day, but yeah. A lot of a lot of highs and low this season for the
for the Penn State, Nitley Lions. And I think, you know, Charlie Cerrado going down. I'm such a fan
of this kids game. You mentioned him earlier and it just kind of made me think of it. Is there any
chance that we see him if if you guys make a frozen for run here and talk about, you know, what he
meant to the team, what he means to the team and is he still hanging around the boys? Yeah,
I think he's going to be back here for the for the first game, I believe. So that's, I mean,
it's huge to have him. Yeah, don't put words in my mouth, but he's he's like, he's that he's
unbelievable. You see him, how he plays, he controls the game. I mean, he's a 200 foot
sentiment who who's hard to play and he gets angry, he gets mean and he's a gritty player,
but he's also got so much finesse on him and you know, that line that they had go on him,
DD and JJ, like that the behind the back boys as they like to call themselves there,
they're special to watch. They can make some crazy plays in the ozone. So if we can have him
back, it's it's a huge add to our team and he's a huge player in the locker room too. I mean,
he's he's his vocal like he's a vocal guy who who loves the boys and it's it's awesome to have him.
What about Doloyak his Doloyak's out for the year, right? Yeah, yeah, that really sucks for us.
I mean, it's our captain. He's our guy like he keeps us together and he's still always in the
room with us, but you know, it's that was definitely a huge loss for us and you know, it was
hard to learn how to play without him because he's such a big piece. All the boys love him so much.
So it sucks to have him out, but you know, you got to it's part of hockey is injuries. So you
got to make do with with what you got and you know, I still I love our I love our team. I love
our chances of winning this whole thing. Speaking of all the boys loving something, I heard they all
love your tattoo story. So why don't you why don't you let the boys know about that.
Yeah, I guess I guess my parents are finding out about this one now. Hey,
it's good. They're going to find out at some point. It's fine. They're going to find out at some
point. Oh, I know they're watching this right now. Like you will. Yeah,
I'm bad, dude, my bad. I know. And the first one I have got this one right here, this one,
the first one I got it. I got it behind my mom's back to a couple of years ago and she found out
and she wasn't too happy about it. My dad knew and I didn't even get the worst, but my dad got
the worst of it. My dad got absolutely right. Yeah, yeah. And that is so like, yeah, that's
a sense of one, but yeah, so I guess I guess I'll go with it. Yeah, the boys, we got one night,
we were out and we went to the, all the boys went out to the tattoo parlor and about, I think,
11 of the boys got, got tied up, seven of them. No, I think eight of them got, we are tied it on
their, on their thigh. And then, you know, the couple of us fresh, Finn, I think the rest of them
are going to get them. But yeah, we got, we got a little inside joke thing on the, for the boys
on the thing, it's GTX, it's hard to even explain it too, which is like, it's like, we had this
joke running all year. It's the, it's a GTX. It was a clean, it was the thing that you clean the
floors with in Ohio State. I got the rank, I don't even know how we came up with it. And it was
a joke with Gav too, or like, saying you couldn't afford that and all this stuff. And it was,
it was, it was awesome. See how we got that tattoo. And you know, my parents find it at some
point. So I guess they had to find out now. So mom, dad, sorry about that. But I mean, I had to
get it with the boys. You're not going to be, I'm not going to be the one who doesn't get it. So
I did the same thing. It was our last week, senior year. And I got a big, and I'll show it to you
guys another time. I think we get banned from YouTube. But I got a big, I got my college mascot,
smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer right on my ass. It takes up a heart attack.
There you go. Right on my ass. And that's awesome. Yeah, my, my, my parents can't be too mad.
My, my dad got one when he was 17, the dog. You got a wide of the coyote with a, with a hockey
stick on his chest. And my mom got one when she was out in Vegas. So I mean, like, they can't be
that mad. I just take it from them. And yeah, I don't know, I'm just like, it's hilarious
that that just happened. I heard you say that. And I was like, in my head, like, oh, God,
well, here we go. Well, because I got a text and it was like, ask him about GTX. And I'm like,
what the fuck is this guy? Who said that? Was that guy who texted you that? I can't tell you,
I can't remember. Wow. Okay. Wow. But I also heard you're a great swimmer too. Like, what's
that? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know what growing up, like, my parents, they're me into every sport.
Like, honest, I was, I was in gymnastics, swimming, like, baseball, everything I could. So I wasn't
just a hockey guy. Like, hockey was there. And I just did like, I would go in practice. But I
wouldn't do like crazy extra stuff. And I would just be playing other sports. But yeah, swimming
wasn't the main one. I was actually better at swimming than I was at hockey when I was younger.
Instead of a couple of records at my, at my swim club. And I was like top five. And in a couple
of different events in Canada. But then once I got to like 13 or 12 or 13, I think I stopped.
And just that's why I kind of stopped playing a lot of sports and just was straight hockey. But
yeah, it's a cool story to have. And I think it's helped me in hockey a bunch like cardio wise.
Like, I'm able to play a lot of minutes. I don't get too tired of my recovery is really good.
And I think it helps my shoulders a lot knock on wood. But don't really get to when that kind of,
like, are you still incorporating swimming into your offseason training, your workouts and
I'm just all for fun. I mean, I don't really go into laps. I don't do that much. But I like to go
to wheel the tarp off and show. Exactly. I mean, yeah, I guess someone has rips of
Tasmanian devil swimming. Yeah, who knows what other tattoos I'm going to have.
That's why he's working so hard. He wants to get to the Vegas pools. They're in the frozen floor.
Show off the tats. Exactly. You'll have to try Whitney. Whitney says he's the Olympic swimmer.
Maybe we got a new series swimming against these guys. Yeah, I don't know what he'd do against me,
but he could try. Oh, I like that. So I only got one more. It's just the Columbus,
you know, obviously, first round pick of Columbus Blue Jackets. What a what a turnaround they've had
with Rick bonus jumping in there. But what's it like working with them and how much are they
working with Penn State, you know, the strength and conditioning team with Columbus working with
your guys at Penn State, you know, on your offseason workout print, your inseason workout plan,
and kind of everything of just your overall development. Yeah, no, they've been they've been
unbelievable, especially like Tommy Cross. He's he's always reaching out to me, sending me clips
every weekend of stuff and of me and of like NHL guys that he likes and a lot of Zach Ransky.
I mean, that guy's something special to watch. So I'm trying to learn, try to learn from him.
But yeah, they've been great. Help me a ton. They're always in touch with with Columbus, I think,
and you know, helping me with offseason stuff to coming up here. I got a great workout guy back home,
crash conditioning dog. He's he's unreal. He's he's been great to me. I mean, I've known him since I
was like 10. I've been working out there for a long time. But yeah, no, they're they've been
unbelievable. I'm, you know, hopefully, hopefully soon a day comes where I can where I can be a
be part of the Columbus Blue Jackets and play for them. But yeah, I guess, I guess to see you in
that time comes. Awesome, buddy. I got all I got is go win and addie, man. Been fun following
you. You're like the first kind of name that we saw that went to college from the CHL that I
like I I follow the dub a little bit. So I was like, oh, yeah, here we go. We got one. And it's
right down the street from Pittsburgh. So go win and addie. Thanks boys. All with you guys watching
you guys. And yeah, good luck. Yeah, quickly. Yeah, no, it's good quickly. Oh,
as you want to get in here. This is my roommate, Cheyvon. Oh, he wanted to want to give him a
little shout out here. So boys, he was like, maybe love the game. No, it's love the game. No, it's
boy. Yeah. That's the guy. My last question. Freed train promotions. I heard about this. What
is the freight train promotion? No, murals nose. Mot nose. He's the best. I was told that's about
freight train. What is it? I don't know. It's it's an agency. Oh, yeah. All right. Yeah. All right.
Yeah. My buddy Tom freighter to quit the guy out and spoke and that's right. That's right.
That's right. Finish my junior career. So you would always have the mouth. Now it's all coming back.
It's all coming back. What was the name of that place? Which freight train promotions? No,
when we were we called them from under that Penn State trip. Oh, that was at doggies. Yeah,
that's our spot. Yeah. Yeah. I just had one last question. I don't know if you caught it,
but we were catching some heat from the graphic we posted of you promoting the show today. Did
you see that? Oh, yeah. I mean, come on, guys. That wasn't seen. This is your chance to
interrupt the guy. I mean, I'm not sure who's I'm not sure who's running that, but like,
could have picked any other photo. Got me like looking all triple chined up and everything,
but it's all good. I mean, it happens. But I've seen that. I remember I've seen that in
Gav commented to it. I was like, you know, I was like, that's all good. And that's why we do. We
need the engagement. You know, they do that to us all the time. They put extra chins on us.
Only one point four million. Sorry. Don't worry. No, yeah. It's perfect. That's all that's fine.
They can they're fine. Maybe give me a little extra followers, but maybe not any two girls again.
Hey, thank you so much for coming on. He's rooming with a Western leader, though. Calgary guy.
Oh, yeah. Your coach is from out there too. That's pretty comfy for you. Hey,
oh, it's unbelievably comfy. I mean, he's he's my best friend now. We've gotten so close over
this year and we're the exact same person and fed a lot of fun. So it's been great to have him.
I couldn't have asked for a better roommate. It may be your best friend, but maybe you got to
keep an eye on him because he might be a mole. He might be the mole. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
really. Oh, geez. Oh, geez. Rities have it all. Wow, wow, wow. Wow. Okay. That's all I say.
Okay. I see how it is. There you go. Wow. That's what it is. Sure. We thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. Drinks. Love you, buddy. Yeah. Appreciate it. See you guys.
We'll see that. We'll see you in Vegas if they get down. We'll see him tomorrow.
I'll be boots on the ground at the practice tomorrow. Hey, we're still invited.
Gee, my it's many might get us all banned.
Geez questions. Geez question. Gee throws the roommate out of the box. Yeah.
I don't even think it was his roommate. What an interview. That was a beauty.
It's many. He's a beauty, eh? Oh, shit. Great guy. I think it might be a great, great player in
the league for a long time too. I think from what I watched of them, I think he to his point at the
end of junior he went on a scoring rampage. He got better at the end too in college as well,
watching him like just the way he played. He looked like like he's so big, right? He's huge.
He can skate. He's like a gazelle. And but like I think he just built too. Like he just got better
too with his experience through college hockey this year. So awesome interview though. Great dude.
Much success to Penn State in any lines.
Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't have to change my bracket right now on the mole.
After that interview, I haven't beaten Duluth, but I have them, I have Michigan beaten them.
But after that interview, I may have to rechange my bracket there.
We got team tattoos with like, yeah, there's a lot going on there.
You got the best player in the league.
Got time. I got time to change my picks. You still got time. You got time.
Once we get any bracket. You make any bracket yet, G?
I have my final four all selected, but like I said, we still got time to change it right now.
I got Michigan. I have Michigan State. I have Denver and I have Quinnipiac.
I just, that's this fucking Denver team man. Every year they do it to us. Every year we spoke
probably six words about this team all season. They're always in, they were in the top 10 all year.
Yet we just neglected them over and over and over again. And what's going to happen?
They're just going to be casually playing in the national championship in Vegas.
We're going to be sitting there with our thumbs up our ass.
Hey, if Quinnipiac goes to your point too, buddy, we got me and Merle's got a message
that the Quinnipiac guys are going to be there again. If they make it to Vegas, G Todd, Todd.
I got a sweet. We got a sweet. He said that we're getting their guys are coming back again. So
I, when I heard you have them, I'm like, oh, this is, this might set up pretty good.
This might be actually legit.
All right. Yeah. As of now, I got Michigan Denver, Michigan State. And then I took providence.
I love Lehman week off, Nate Lehman just, just grumpy all week with them.
They'd add a weekend off. He knows how to win in that tournament.
I love that pick, Merle's. I think providence is in there. They're like the East Coast Denver.
They fly under the radar. No one talks about them. They had a lot of big wins this season.
They got that Roger McQueen, Kate Colby. You love that kid. You were big on him in the draft.
Yeah, I love, I love that pick. But that Western Michigan Denver, if they both win,
I mean, no, I mean, Cornell's never an easy out. But if that Denver,
Western Michigan, that's just an old team. Bet the draw. Bet the draw.
Bet a lot of draws this weekend. Yeah, I like that. Remind me.
They always go to OT, though, Colby. Every time Denver, Western Michigan plays,
it's like three or four times in a row in championship games. They've gone to OT now.
So it's like bet the draw. That's great. That's great. And then this all kicks off this weekend,
right? Coming up tomorrow. Tomorrow, one of top Thursday Friday. Yep. Tomorrow,
it starts off 130. So yeah, tons of college hockey talk. Great start. Get us going for the NCA
starting tomorrow. Again, follow us along. Me and G will be together Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
whatever. I don't know how long you're staying. You're more than welcome to stay the whole weekend.
If you want to get up at six, we'll put you right in the guest room. It's tough. It's tough
to tell the fiancee. Hey, I'm going to go spend the weekend in Albany with murals to watch hockey.
It's getting that one night was tough. So, all right. We'll see. We'll see how it goes.
We'll see how it goes. See if I can suck you in once you're here. But we got to talk NHL,
arm dog here. We're an hour in. We got to talk some NHL. Let's rip through it, buddy. Let's
snap it around the NHL a little bit where you want to start some standings. Looks first.
Or you want me to go over some of these milestones that happen in the NHL like that.
I want you to go through some of these milestones first. So Frontel debuted in the NHL last night.
He came over from Sweden. It's nice to see him up. And you see, but Dard, he was going to take
the opening draw, stepped out. Let Frontel come in and take it picked up an apple as well.
Great showing in the first game. And all these guys are starting a pop coming out of college,
coming out of their other leagues. Everything's kind of ending. And so we're starting to see a
little bit more of some new faces and futures of some of these teams going.
Yeah, Frontel is a big, big boy. You see him there. He still looks like he's got a little
baby fat on the face there. But he's, he's a big, big guy season in your garden. They did a
pretty good season. They stayed out of the relegation. So he got over here right away.
I think they lost in the first round of the play in like playoffs. It wasn't even a real,
real playoffs. It was kind of like a best of three. So they lost out and he jumped right on a
plane, got in there last night, good to see him. The other rookie, I added in there Carter.
I think you left it off. So I'd have to say his last name, Carter, Yakima Chuk.
He debuted. Yeah, one in one. Yeah, one in one. Yakum Chuk, but Yakum Chuk for the Ottawa Senators,
one in one. And his debut helps them get a huge win. I'm back to back nights.
They were pumped about him coming up too. That's huge for Ottawa. Obviously, Ottawa is just
in a dog fight, but everything's kind of like this last week of hockey has been crazy for the
tightening up the standings, the tightening of the standings big time. Paul Maurice 2000 game coach
to join only Scotty Bowman in the 2000 game coaching club. Pretty amazing. Second all time.
There's a few coaches on the outside looking in just barely also, you know, trying to work their way
there. I believe Lindy Ruff and coach you out in Anaheim potentially as well. I think is like
third and fourth respectively on that list, trying to climb in there. So Paul Maurice and Maurice
still seems like rather young like he could he's going to he's probably going to pass Scotty Bowman.
Yeah, he ain't stopping anytime soon. His team's going to be good for another five years down there.
They ain't going to get rid of him, right? They can never fire him. I don't think after this little
run he's been on. No, yeah, he's the guy. He's the guru. He's their press conference guru that
just gets a team going 2000 games will go over to a thousand games for guys played Larson and Mika,
the sweet. I didn't really see much on Larson's, but I know when Mika, the Rangers,
they came down ahead like the long black hair wigs on trying to honor him a little bit. So it was
really funny that his thousandth game came against Ottawa, the only other team he played for. So
that's right. Oh, that's hockey gods in a weird way. Always seen the pop their heads up.
Yeah, one of the few Rangers that's really having a good year as well. He's been pretty good
there for them as bad as it's been in a thousand game. That's a lot. Funny how that works out. Hey,
where it lands right there for you. Amazing. The next one, the next one, congrats to those two
guys. Larson and Zabena Jad on a thousand games. Great milestone. The next one was Connor McDavid.
Connor McDavid 1200 points. He needed, he needed like one point for one goal for 400 goals,
one assist for 800 assists, but he got two goals last night to get to 1200 points.
And he was a third fastest murals to do it. So that's behind Gratsky at 504 games to get to the
1200, 504 games to get to 1200 points. And let me 500 and 93 games to get to 1200 points.
Connor did it at 784 games. So he's a third fastest in there. I mean, that's going to be who's
going to beat that? I don't know. That's ridiculous. Even for that, that's like 200 and some games off
of 289 games from Grats, right? Is that what it equals to? I'm not a good math guy, but you know what's
funny? We're talking all these stats and it came up in barely the other night. How, yeah,
of course, the game has changed and all these points and stuff. But people forget, they never
talk about how, yeah, the bigger, stronger, faster, whatever. People forget two line passes.
Gratsky was doing all this with a two line pass. You know, those remember that rule that we started
with? You couldn't, you couldn't hang. Yeah, yeah. Like the game was so clustered up. So I,
people forget about the two line pass. I bet there's a lot of kids that don't know about it
watching today, but there used to be a two line pass. One kid that probably never even
heard about it is, is shayford down on the islanders. He just sees one goal away from the record
for D goalies. But then last night, was it last night? Played 31, over 31 minutes, set a record
for teenage players. How long they played? The kid is just out of his mind.
Out of his mind, buddy, he's having an unbelievable year. Who else scored last night? Oh,
radish scored two for his 20th of the season. I love that. We're going to talk about him.
Oh, we got kids. We got kids coming in. It's almost time for me to go to the rink,
man. Right. Yeah, well, hold on. We're going to, because we got a slump buster. We're coming
at the end of the show. That's it for NHL. Let's pop the standings up quickly here and see what's
going on. The east is just out of control. How tight it is. Columbus has just moved off. They've
taken over. They never lose. Bruins hanging on Ottawa. Like I predicted weeks ago, weeks ago,
I predicted Ottawa senators will get into the playoffs. Now everybody else like Whitney's trying
to say they predicted it. No, Whitney. I started that one. Islanders are slipping. Red wings have
slipped. Red wings notoriously bad in March. What do you think? What what you're thinking on that?
Why is Detroit always so bad? I don't know why they fizzle down the stretch. It's just brutal.
They're brutal. They can't get it done. And then Larkin's going to blame
Steve Y. It's a brutal. Oh, I'm getting overtaken, boys. Oh, no. Oh, no. The Mount St. Charles
Phantom to him. Oh, it's the girls. It's the Armstrong clan.
Oh, it's time to go for the game to the game, I guess.
This is unbelievable. Yeah, they see him all in the white. They argue they're like the win
brother supporting the siblings. I love it. Love to see it. Love to see it. Yeah, so then pop
up those West standings. The West standing by armies in romper room over there. The West, the West,
the West. I mean, the ducks, the ducks are somehow leading that division. Vegas is horrible. They
are a bad hockey club. Nashville predator is my play of the month. They whoop San Jose. San Jose
Good night. You can put us forking them. They are not making the playoffs as much as Whitney
and R.A. Wanted Celebrini in the sharks to make it. They are not making it this year.
L.A. King's just brutal loss last night. They coughed up a point in overtime. They blew that game.
They took too many penalties at the end. Didn't clear the puck. I don't know if anybody's going
to catch Nashville. They're playing unreal. They're scoring a ton of goals. Utah's in. That's about
it. In the Pacific, they can still kind of move around a little bit. You're back with us,
arm dog. Yeah, story about that. That was awesome. That was awesome. The fans.
Thanks for running the show on that one. I had a dog. I had a dog cameo. The girls cameo.
Got everything going on. Bye, everybody. They're going to the game now again. All right.
Yeah, so yeah, so it's great. It's a great time to watch the hockey. The games. It's
every time. Every game is like, oh, they took the two points. They took the one point. It's
really fun to watch in arm dog. Why am I telling you that? Well, all these points matter.
The biggest games are on prime Monday night hockey, arm dog. Prime Monday night hockey.
Last weekend, we just talked about it. It was Mika's 1000th game. It was auto at Rangers.
Senators need it. Those points badly. They stuck a win out two to one. The Rangers complete
no show that I think they had nine shots on goal. One of the worst performances at home in the
history of the National Hockey League, but the auto as senators, they found a way to get done.
They're now in the playoffs. Thanks to that game. Also on prime is Thursday's coast to coast.
You guys know about that. I think there's 14 15 games tomorrow. They'll be popping around
all of them showing you every goal from all the games. A great way to tune into the action.
And then next Monday, prime Monday night hockey game Calgary at Colorado, March 30th.
Calgary surprising some guys. They got they traded everybody away, but man, they battle.
They got themselves on a five game winning streak as we're looking at this on Wednesday.
And then everybody knows about the avalanche. The number one team in the league. The
favorites to win the Stanley Cup. And the scary part is they're starting to get healthy.
Land of Skogs back, Colton's back. We'll see if Leckin is back by Monday against the Flames,
but prime Monday night hockey 830. You know where to find it. Tune in and probably take the over in
that game. Moral, so do you still consider the Azure team or you fully on the Buffalo Train now?
Can I have an East and a West? Can I be like this? You've earned it. Yeah, so yeah,
you've played it for enough NHL teams. You've earned it. Yeah, I've played the four exhibition
games for the avalanche. And I have the 29 jerseys. So yeah, they're my West team.
And then Buffalo, obviously my ease. I'm getting a text every day from Tim Conley.
When do you think the sabers? When do you think that home weekend's going to be? When they're
going to play? I'm like, well, I think they're going to host. They're going to pretty much host
opening weekend. So I almost grew chatting you and heat daddy last night with a picture of
the standings. Because right now, if I'm not mistaken, the bees are playing, I think the bees
are playing Buffalo. Are they not? Oh, nice. Yeah. Right now, if you look, the bees are set to play.
The bees are playing Buffalo. So if that's the case, I'll go with you guys up to Buffalo.
We might have to cover all seven games of that series. Just pop them back and forth. That would
be insane. Shippewash Street, Jesus. But we didn't lose Army. Army is on a dad duty for the rest of the
day now. So shout out to Armdog. Yeah, that's the Armdog. It's also his wife's birthday. That was his
show. And we're going to move on to that. We're going to move on to show mindsies. Let's do it.
Gee, I want you to go first here because I think I know where you're going on your first one.
So first, I'm going with the United Airlines. And I don't know if you guys saw, I probably should
have sent the graphics to Pasha and I didn't. But United Airlines just announced that you can now buy
the three seats in a row. And they'll give you a little mattress topper. And you can sleep on
that row. That's incredible. That is if they properly clean those things in this, it's a sanitary
situation. This is changing the game of flying for us. For us, roach class people. We're all
like me and you we're not on the first class list. Imagine if I had that, all these trips to Sweden.
But that was always been one of my hacks is that I always talked about on here when I would be
making those trips is I'm on that seat changer like this all before trying to find the three.
And then sometimes I would book the middle one. So maybe people won't sit next to me. And then I
would get the whole three to lay down. I'm risky though because then if you get stuck on the
mid with the middle seat, yeah, but I'm always just working around. And then like as I'm getting
on handing the lady my ticket, I'm I double check with her. She's got the computer right in front
of me. Is that whole row still open that I'm in? She's like, yeah, yeah, I'm like, yes, yes, I got
all three. That's how I survived when we had the Vegas chick. Let's come. Oh my god. And then I
had I flew to LA and then LA to Helsinki. It was 11 hours after a Vegas trip. I want to die.
But I got all three seats. So I was able to lay down and actually sleep. But yeah, like they
shout out to them. Did they see you travel? I mean you who travels with your kids and stuff all
the time to and from Sweden. That this has got to be a life saver. You can just lay down Ted
and Lily. It's like you got take a little nap. Like that's unbelievable. Yeah. So yeah, you obviously
wouldn't know this. But my my daughter does have this little suitcase. I can't think of the name
off hand. No free ads anyway. But that's basically how it works. You put this on where her feet would
be and it comes with a mat, basically just like that, but a one-seater. So you see that picture,
how the mat's basically what she has. So she can sit there with her feet up and then when she can
curl into a little ball and lay down too and her one seat. This is just next level now. It's
going to be all three seats to hang out. Unreal. So that's my first show, second show. The athletic
directors at Western Michigan and Minnesota State. So they have come forward and they're going to
actually pay for the tickets of all the students from Minnesota State, from Western Michigan,
attending their regional final games. Just an awesome move. College kids like you forget
how broke you are when you're in college. I remember I'd get 60 bucks from my dad and I
thought I'd be the richest man in the world. So the fact that they're willing to cover the ticket
cost for for all these kids, it's awesome. I think it's just it's it's great to see and you know,
the schools that don't have football money and they don't have the basketball money and the big
ten money. It's awesome to see that these schools are prioritizing their hockey programs. And
I think that's super, super, super important because I'm going to get to that in my mind. These
about schools not prioritizing their hockey programs. But this is just very awesome to see,
very encouraging. It's it's going to grow the game. So stick to them. Yeah, I love that. Love
both of those. Perfect. You had two of them since the ardent dog was missing. But Pasha, you got one
back there for us. I do not. I can be because I don't know what's up. I don't know what's up,
what's down, what's good, what's bad. Suddenly since the Olympics, the devils are high flying
offense. Four or five goals again. Jack Hughes is completely lighting and up. Brat looks like a
different player. Like they couldn't even get one goal a game before us. Now they're rattling off
wins. I'm a lost puppy. I'm happy to see those guys light it up. But like now we're just
piling up wins when we need losses. So I don't know what's good, what's bad, what's up, what's down,
I'm in shambles. So I'll add another show. We'll call Pasha to the show because when he's down
the dumps in two, this sandbagger that he he put together is incredible. It is a funny,
it is a very, very, very funny sandbagger. There were tons of edits. I'm sure you'll know what I'm
talking about once you see the video. But Pasha didn't incredible, an amazing job on this video
drops tomorrow 2 p.m. So yeah, show. Thank you. Thank you. That's show your show. You're always show
Pasha. My show is a John Calipari clip that came across my desk during the NCAA tournament. And
I fear this is the college hockey extravaganza. And just listen to this clip. I think we're going to
play it and it just it's the way it should be and not only basketball, but hockey as we're a
hockey player. Everywhere. I say to you, if a kid transfers four times,
is he going to graduate from that school? It's no way. You can't graduate. So now you're going to
be done playing without a college degree. You have no ties to the last school you went to where
they feel that you're from Arkansas. You played here. We're here. You're going to have
opportunity. That's done. You're offered $55,000 in your first job. And you go, what?
$55,000? Do I have to show up? Are they going to, you got, you got me an apartment, right? Or
a car? I mean, they, I'm worried about mental health, mental health, that look, I've been poor.
And you know, it's worse than being poor, coming across some money and then being poor again.
That's the worst. That's probably why I'm cheap because I'm not going back there. But
yeah. So my thing is, and I've been pushing this, you can transfer once without penalty.
Because you picked the wrong school, the coach lied to you. There was another player that came
that you didn't know about one time. And after that, you got to sit. Because what do you think
they're transferring for? Somebody helped me here. Why they said, that's it. It didn't because
they're mad at this or that I can extort you. And if you don't give it to me, I'm going over here.
If we cure that, I've been saying it for five years, no one listens to me. My dog, I call me,
runs the other way. My wife doesn't listen to me. No one listens. If we cure the transfer
rule, 70% of our problems go away. We can deal with all the other stuff. Yeah, that's just like,
I was so perfect. It's a little long-winded. But I think everybody needs to hear that. And we've
talked about it, where the transfer is killing everything. One is all right. You picked the wrong
school. You're not getting the ice time. Maybe you're not slotted in. But when you're going bouncing
around, and I've been telling kids here, like, I came to home school at home, RPI. And it's,
it just gives me everything that I, I'm here. They want to take care of me because I'm alumni.
I have a great alumni base now. I'm friends with everybody. I'm welcome with open arms at
the rink at the school. So, well, and morals, I just loved everything he said. I think about
this all the time now, the, the picture that you put, you took of like you and like 11 year,
your best buddies all wearing the red jacket, like back at like a bar or something. And it's like,
these are the memories that like, this is the reason we do it type thing. And you see a picture
like that. And a lot of these kids aren't going to get to experience those lifelong bonds and
those lifelong friendships because they're at a new school every year. And we just talked about it
with Jackson Smith. Like, they're all getting team tats together. Like, you want those team bonds.
And you lose that shit when you jump, jump around year in and year out. So, love what Cal said there.
I've said it for a few years now. I think him or Nick Sabin should be commissioner of NCAA sports.
Because they need something right now. Like, they need a president to step in or someone to come in
and just take up the armed dogs back. Where is he now? I'm in my hotel now. We'll see if
this internet holds up. Boy, I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. I'm going to have
to have a talk to them. They just came in there. They butted into me. They knocked my microphone off.
They did everything. Just like, oh, yeah. They bullied me. I'm just a dad. I'm just a crappy dad
trying to grind it out in a van down by the rim. Okay. Yeah. I also like this in the chat. Matthew
WM 73 sir, youth hockey jumpers. Yeah. That same speech can go to the youth hockey jumper.
100% are bouncing around that you're not going to have those kids. You grew up playing with
I played eight years with the same kids basically. One or two get moved in or out. But
you get that core and you get those friendships. I still regret like youth hockey. I left my team
for two years to for better for a better option. And two years later, I came back to my boys.
Was a way worse team, but you just miss playing with the guys because that's what it's all about,
right? We all end up in the beer league. Exactly. That's league in the world, man. That's right.
Army. What's your show? We already did. We gave ours already. So my lovely wife, Melissa.
I'm going to have to send her to the show. I got a little picture up here for you guys at the
family. Happy birthday to Melissa today in beautiful Green Bay, Wisconsin. I don't know what we're
going to do tonight. I don't know. You know, this is what it's life's like on the road when you
got all these kids and you got a hockey. So got to rent that sprinter van. Yeah, the sprinter van
maybe for dinner tonight. I don't know. I owe her after she's probably you can saw what the kids
did to me in a matter of 10 seconds. That's what she has to deal with every single day. So
happy birthday to my beautiful wife, Melissa. I love you. I have a have a great day. We'll do our
best to make it. We're awesome today in Green Bay. And then she got like me dialed in our
this little quiet room and she came in behind me and she even like made the bed. So it looked
good on screen for me. What a legend. What a legend. What a legend. You're billet mom show. She's
in the show. Billet mom. Well, it's funny because that's why he doesn't have a list because he's
got a billet mom. Well, I send out a weekly schedule. Don't even send it to Colby. I just
said it right to Mel. Like I said, the schedule goes right to Mel. Yeah, everyone does all of my other
jobs. Everyone messages Mel for everything. Even my friends like when my friends like you come to
town or something or they're trying to see what's going on. Like hey, we got a guy's golf trip
plan or something, which I never go on. But like anything, they all contact my my wife. They all
contact Mel. So she's like my agent, my billet mom, my wife, everything built into one. So
awesome. She's the best. I don't know what I got. I don't know what I'd do without her. I can't
even function in life. But so to the show automatically. Happy birthday. Show, show, show. She's
full-time member in the show. What's your mind's ease arm dog? My mind's ease, buddy. I gotta do this.
Do you guys see that Swedish fight? The brawl everyone's talking about. Now, this is pretty chaotic.
It looked like the gate pushed open and a guy off the other team went into the band.
A little bit great video right in the middle there, right in the middle of it. It was awesome.
That like everyone's like, oh my god, what a brawl. Like
one there might have been one punch thrown out of straight survival by that guy that's getting
hold out of there right now. That was like coach grabbed him. Coach grabbed him and pulled him out
of there. But that was not a brawl at all. There was not even a fight. Not even one fight. Like
you get it up in the bench. It's like that was when I was in Swedish rules. That's mind's ease.
Like if you're going to the bench, you're going like chaos style. There it is.
There it is. Yeah, there you go. Pushed in. Oh, they took him right in.
They kind of walked it himself here. I'll come in. This is during the relegation though. And they're
down one nothing in that game. They turned it around one in the game. And now HV 71 are good friend.
Chris. There's the punch used to work skills for them. I don't know if he's still on the staff
this year or not. He's still there. Yeah, I think but he coaches them. But now HV survived in this
team Lexans, who's maybe like the New York Yankees of the SHL, the most most fans, the biggest
franchise they lost. They're going to get knocked back down. Wow. That's historic. Someone
Libby in the chats asking if you can translate what those guys were saying.
Are you good? I get no. No, no, Libby. No. I think they were saying five on one.
They were five on one. But I think that guy was sending the brawl to the mind's ease for being
kind of okay, but like no fighting really. It was like really no fighting. It was just chaos.
Swedish league fights. But that is, yeah, those elimination rounds do get pretty heated in
there. Like that is like for a lot of money. If you get pumped down, you lose a lot of money
as an organization. I think those teams are so that that is huge. You're fighting for your city,
your team, everything. So Pasha, you got a mind's ease? No, I already told you,
murals because I don't know the difference between up and down, good and bad mind's ease and
show right now. So I'm just what about in your life? What about in Vancouver? I see your back
there. You're not in Arizona. Is that mind's ease? The weather? Yeah, that's mind's ease. The weather
here sucks. Fucking. That's a shell. My dog just shittled over my couch. So dog in the mind's ease.
Oh, that's a good one. Just get me the October. Yeah, I'm so excited. Nobody. We all can't wait
to get out of March here. Weather's finally turning. I want meaningful devil's hockey again.
That's what really fills my cup makes me happy years. I've been an empty shell myself. You have
been it's been tough seeing you like this, buddy. It's been a while now. It's been like two months
of like sad, sad Pasha. It sucks. I can't get excited about like the cool shit happening around
the league in our group chat. It's just like a pain. I know you're very like distant right now,
hey? There he is. There's a smile. There's a laugh. Yeah, there we go. It's a lot of fun. Hey,
hang in there. Yeah, I'll try. Before you know it, it'll be back again next year, buddy. Yeah,
unless Sheldon keeps still behind the bench, then I'm not tuning in. Is that a promise?
That's a promise. You will not tune into any games as Sheldon keeps as a coach next year.
Correct. Wow. Hey, you're going to come on the pens, Ben Wagon?
No. What do you want to do that? Hey, business. What does it want to earn? I don't think
Mer wants to. What about what do you have any teams you're thinking and jumping on for playoffs?
You got to have a team. I'm on the Minnesota, Ben Wagon. Oh, yeah. Make sense.
Zach Johnson is in the chat says, sorry, slump dog. I love seeing Pasha like this.
We're never reveling in your misery, buddy. Just when I thought Minnesota couldn't be in a
worse spot, they get blocked at it. And now they really don't have a chance to get to Dallas.
Yes. Wow. What a poor Minnesota. Is it worth is Pasha worth the biz? Oh, no, no, no, no. Come on.
For the most factor. No, no, no, no. Just asking, just asking, guys. I believe the Blue Jays banned
him from all games this season in the next in the sandbag in the drops tomorrow. Oh, yeah.
It's it. It's known across different sports now. Oh, my God. Is that like the Drake? Yeah, that's
what they said. That's what they said. Drake. Yeah. This is now the new Drake. Yes. Yes. Wow. That's
bad. All right. All right. Gee. Moving on. Mindzies for G. Yeah. So I'm going to call the Yale
athletic director to the mindzies. Mickey's shunned. And I'm not sure if you guys have heard this
story, but it's been making waves over the college hockey over the past few days. Keith
Elaine was was the is now the former Yale hockey coach released a pretty scathing letter about
how Vicki chun does not support the Yale hockey team basically at all. So here I'll read this.
This is from college hockey needs former Yale coach Keith Elaine wrote a letter to Yale's
president. Oh, sorry, not athletic director. Yale's president after resigning last summer.
Calling athletic director, Vicki chun, the absolute worst leader he'd ever been around. That's
according to Fox News, which says they have obtained a copy of the letter as a Yale. And this is
in the letter as a Yale alum in someone who has a great affection for our university and the role
of athletics within the greater Yale community. I feel compelled to write you as my former colleagues
have asked. Vicki chun is the absolute worst leader. I have ever been around in my life.
She is dishonest self-centered and inaccessible. Vicki's singular talent is self-promotion
and has created a toxic environment within the department where she is insulted by a cadre
of administrators whose main task seems to be silencing any dissent. So yeah, I mean, he goes on
to say, you know, as a point of reference, our team's record before Vicki was 220, 140 and 39.
Since Vicki has come to town, it's 62 wins 110 losses and 15 ties. Keep in mind,
this is a this is a program that I mean, less than 15 years ago, what a national champion. Yeah,
it's like 2013. They win. Yes. So I mean, you think of like Yale should be Yale and Harvard should
be like two of the top destinations for college hockey players because of the education you get.
And for them to just throw hockey on the back burner after a lane spent so long building up this
program and getting it to where it is. Mindsies. Mindsies, Vicki, Chun. Mindsies.
They're in the search for a new coached. And I mean, that's just not what you want to hear when
you're you're trying to get good candidates to like, no, application. I got a knowledge,
it's a disaster. And someone I think I want to see and I tweeted this out and I got a lot,
I got a ton of reaction. I got a bunch of texts about this and I don't think this will really
count for the Yale job. But I would love to see Adam Krueg get considered for a division one
coaching job. He coached that Adrian division three for I believe over 10 years had the highest
win percentage in division three hockey history. He's in Baker's field now. All the players love him.
For what I've been told, he would like to get back to the college hockey ranks. So I think he
would be an unbelievable option. I know he's come to he's come pretty close with a few jobs.
But I think Adam Krueg would be a home run hire for one of these programs looking to not start
from scratch, but really build up. I saw you tweet that out last yesterday, right? Yeah.
Did he go to Yale? He didn't know. No, all right guys. My room my my sources tell me they want
an alumni. But do you have to have like do you have to have to coach in college? You have to have
a degree or something? You have to be like a legit college school. Yeah, it used to be more
set in stone, but yeah, and now it's kind of up to the universities and they've kind of gotten
away from it a little bit. I think there was something with BU and Pandolf folks. I don't I feel
like Pandolf may have not I don't know. I don't want to I don't know. Yeah, I know it's changed
that way was, but you can now without it. My mind is he's staying in college, staying in college. I'm
just not happy with the game times. I'm just not I don't get it. G said yesterday one third or
I said it earlier one 30 tomorrow in Worcester is one of the games on a Thursday. I can't expect
that crowd to to be too good. I don't I'm not happy with the all many times. We're on the east coast
and we're getting five o'clock and nine o'clock while the other day other games played that day
around Colorado and they're playing earlier than us. So it's it's just nine p.m. Like holy cow,
we're going to start the game. If everything that's having McKenna Merle like all the kids want to
watch Gavin McKenna and they're put at 10 o'clock all these eight nine ten eleven twelve. They're
all asleep. It's crazy. It's all that's what all the beer league talk. Everybody wants to go down
to the game. Well, we're going to bring the kids to the first game, but I'm not going to have to
send them home for the second game. You're not allowed to leave the building and reenter. So they
have to like send these kids out on their own to their parents or an Uber. Who knows? And I guess
they want McKenna more in prime time. I think that's what ESPN must have pulled some strings to try
to get him at nine p.m. No, like we can we can have him at eight p.m. We could have seven p.m.
They're playing out in Denver at seven p.m. Eastern, which is five local. They're having noon and five
out there, which is just crazy. It's just understanding their demographic man. Like when I was at the
hockey e semi finals last week, and it was all kids. It was so many. Their ads taken, you know,
their whole hockey team. I saw four or five groups of squirt hockey teams because the prices,
the prices, you can actually afford as opposed to going to a Bruins game, which is five X,
the price, you can get 10 kids in for the price of three or four at a Bruins game. So
putting I'll tell you, I'll tell you G2, all these kids follow all these college star kids on
like Instagram and socials and they follow all the schools. And in that demographic,
like that age group, they're like as big as NHL guys. These guys agree. It's crazy. Agreed.
So yeah, it's just such a miss. Great point, Merle. Yeah. So hopefully Sunday when it's Michigan
Penn State, hopefully, that'll be a little earlier. And we can pack that place down there in Albany
Sunday, Sunday, seeing Mr. Ice last five bets to the minds. That's not very nice golf golfing
stars fan. We got ice con coming up in a couple of weeks. You can't be setting those vibes
through our chat. But yeah, I'll be up late Friday night with G nine o'clock game and we're
going to get through it with Body Armor Flash IV Army. This episode is brought to us by our
friends at Body Armor Flash IV, official partner of the NHL Flash IV. You see it right here.
I got it right here ready to go for Friday. It's packed with electrolytes, liver and faster,
longer lasting hydration without any artificial dyes, flavors or sweeteners, whether you're
training traveling or just feeling the heat, work hard and hydrate hard with Body Armor Flash IV,
grab it at 7-11 today. Get ready for the weekend. Recover from the weekend.
You know, I might need some of that here. Bring some of that up with you. Yeah. Bring
an entry fee into the gate. Bring a palette. Bring a palette of it. Yeah. The gates of
will open for you G and Troy. If you have a palette of Body Armor Flash IV for us.
And there we go, buddy. And then tonight I'll want to get into it. You want to step around,
bud? Yeah. I got to have action. It's kind of late night. We'll have action.
15 last night and two tonight. It's kind of been like that here lately. It's just hot and heavy
quiet, hot and heavy quiet. So two games. You got the Bruins at Sabers 730 tonight. New York
Rangers at the Toronto Maple Leafs and original six matchups 730 tonight also at the same time.
What do you like? What do you see in right now, Murr? Yeah. So Sabers obviously hot as team
and a league. I think I saw 36 and three since they fired the the poor GM. I don't love them
in this spot, though. I don't like these are the games. They scare me because they've been on the
road. You come home from the long road trip. You get home and you got a million things to do. They
got their list to do army. These guys have lists. They've been away on the road for a week.
So the lines too big just to take them. I'm going to take the over six and a half. I think
Boston will play their backup. They played Swaman last night. So I'll go over six and a half minus
one 12. I think Bruins can jump on Buffalo early. Get a couple goals and we get some goals, goals,
goals. This is my favorite play. Alex talk gets a point minus 140. I also like Arvinson to get a
point at plus 155. G's talked a lot about him this year. And that's my place for the Buffalo
Boston game. There you go. Then what do you got? New York Rangers at the Leafs. You like
anything there? I mean, just a toilet ball game. Just who can tank? I think that Leafs don't
know what they're doing because they won that game last night in Boston. They don't know how to tank.
So I think I'll take the Leafs money line minus 105. Nice. Yeah, that is a toilet bowl game. That
game holy smokes. Buffalo Boston will be okay though. Boston's battling to hang in there. Buffalo's
playing good hockey. They got the Mojo going right now. Another game toilet bowl. Probably find
something in there though. All right. You want to go to Thursday? Thursday that tomorrow night.
Thursday. Holy just get ready. Look at this slate. Bam. Just insanity right there.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 games. Oh, tons of playoff implications. The Columbus, Montreal,
Pittsburgh, Ottawa. It's just insane. And that's what I'm going. I'm going right away,
Armdog. I'm going with Ottawa, Pittsburgh. I'm doing a draw. Merleys special will probably be
around plus 300. That's a game I see being tight. And then right at the end, they both kind of
last 10 minutes. Okay, we each need to get a point here. Nothing risky. Let's just play this out
and we'll go to overtime. Next one up going down to Tampa. Seattle at Tampa. I feel like Seattle's
kind of done now enjoying the sunshine a little too much. Kucherov only a point the last two games,
one point each game. So get Kucherov two points in this game minus 115. He's due for another three
or four banger. Next up, my favorite team lately. Nashville just hit play the week with them.
But I'm going for goals here. Pasha must have been reading my notes. Devils can score. Devils can
score. I can't take Nashville. So Nashville, Jersey, over six and a half. And then my last play for
tomorrow, my favorite team, Blues, since the break, they're nine, two and two in the San Jose
sharks stink. Told you guys that earlier, they've lost, I think, six in a row. They get blown out
in every game. They are done. They are dead meat. Good night, sharks. St. Louis Blues just keep
winning and keep ruining their drafts. But I'll keep making money off them. Well, sharks will be
in St. Louis for that match up tomorrow night. Yeah, that's the, the Blues are rolling. What's
the sharks are kind of just like, uh, sliding away. They're just falling off a cliff.
Hey, man, they are done. They're in a, they're in a slump arm, dog. Slump, well, he might need
to bust that slump. Don't we, man? I got a slump. I want to bust. We got, you want me to do slump
busters? Yep. All right. Let's go, posh. Here we in a slump and you need a bomb. Who you
going to call slump busters? Slump busters. All right. Last week, Radish needed us, needed the
slump dog, needed the chat, needed all of us to get behind him. He now has a few goals. He hit
20 last night. As I mentioned before, he's on fire. Look at this guy. He scores every night.
Sent you. Yeah. The slump dog came in and saved them, saved them. Now he's on his way to get paid.
We couldn't have anything coming the way of that. Boom. He's back on track. He's sniping again.
20 goals season for Darren Radish. Congratulations, young man or not young man. He is a veteran guy.
I believe he's like 29 years old. So wait a go Darren. No, go get that money. Go get paid. Go get
those goals. We got you heated back up again. New slump buster. If you're in a slump, you need a
bump. You're going to call the old slump dog. He's got eyes for your favorite team, one of your
favorite teams of late. They're on fire right now. And it's this man right here, the veteran.
Jonathan Marchesau. Jonathan Marchesau 11 games without a goal. National predators. They seemingly
stamp coast scores every night. Forestberg scores every night. He plays on a line with Forestberg.
He just hasn't got any goals lately, which is kind of crazy because he's a guy that can make
things happen and snipe and be a snipe dog. So the slump dogs here for you, bud.
Tabal necastica Lisa come after you. You're not the first French guy I came after,
but I'm coming after Jonathan. Jonathan tonight, tomorrow night when you're rolling Thursday night
because you're not playing tonight. Who they got? Who do they play again? Devils. Devils. I over.
I mean, think about that. This works perfect. Perfect timing. Yeah, goes right with the over.
It goes right with everything. It's a sign. It's meant to be the slump dog.
Jonathan, you have been targeted as Tika Lisa. And I'm coming after you to save your life and
save the end of the season and save your family and your I know he has young sons at play.
And then he goes and watches them when he was in Vegas at intermissions. And they're probably
like, Daddy, how come you don't score anymore? How come daddy? How come you don't sleep anymore?
How come we don't get to eat dinner anymore? Daddy, while dinner is going to be served.
Kids, March or so is coming on Thursday night against the Devils. He's gone. 11 games done.
You got it. The slump dogs got you. Yeah, love. I love that pick that I can't believe he's gone
11 games without one crazy. Hey, um, your other guy radish. It was interesting before we go.
We'll just get your quick assessment on it. They were talking about radish. He's unrestricted
free agent. Come into the season. This guy's at a point of game. Power play weapon.
Like does it all? What do you think his average salary will be? Like, what kind of deal you think
he's going to get? Because they were talking about on the TNT broadcast last month. Like,
what? Six mil. Yeah, I was thinking like eight. Yeah, eight. I don't know. He's 30 years old.
I don't see why, like, why wouldn't you give him a five year eight year deal if you're just some
teen that has nothing else? Like, would you give him like a four or five year deal? Because,
I mean, it's, it's kind of like a great season, but like we've seen you for the last
how many years. And it's a great story. So that's where I'm think like six to seven.
If you can get it up over seven times five, is that not good? Is that not a good pay day for him?
Yeah, be hard hit for him to say no to that. But with this cap going up, these, some of these
teams got to get to the floor. There's going to be a new floor and there's just money to spend.
I mean, there's not going to be any free agents out there. I had a list of some of these
unrestricted free agents. And I mean, that can be a talk another day. Hold on. Let me check
this out. I got to, I got a thing here. Hold on. I mean, the other D out there, Anderson,
Alexiac, the Angelo, Truba, Carlson and Radish are the top six D. And is he not ahead of all of them?
Like, what he's doing this year with his age too?
There's a website I got that gives you like analytically like a contract projector.
Oh, should we check it out? I'm going to try to have the new cap, though, or I don't know. Yeah.
Oh, here it is. It is. It's here. Hold on. I got it. It's a four year.
Hold on. I can't get it over there.
It's going on here, aren't we? We're talking Darren Radish going into unrestricted free agent,
Tampa Bay guys lighting it up. Yes, we're just feeding him, but projected cap hit on this website
is four times five point three two seven. That's not he's going to get more than that. He's
going to get more than that. Hey, I think so too. How do you not? How do you not give him that?
If you need a power play guy, brings the winning culture.
Yep. Last last one wants to take less. Maybe he wants to take less. Stay down in Tampa.
Hey, we got to remember this. We got to remember this in case I'm in case I'm right.
What about him on San Jose? That San Jose team would have put him on the on the point. Let's
celebrate and he feed him. Well, there's always saying and this is like typical like the leaves.
Oh, the leaves need a guy like that that can blast the puck. Yeah, I think that's you think the
leaves won't give him eight million. Yeah, that's where it's going, but let's move it along here.
We got to shut her down. It's already it's already already time to get ready for this NCA tournament.
I got to get my outfits picked out. I don't know if I wear the Penn State shirt you see here. I'll
see if the game notes shirt arrives in time, but we pop that up again. Get over the bar stool store.
Hook us up here with some game notes shirts. Get them get the stuff going. We sell enough of these.
Then we can make some more merch. We're going to let the chat design the hat. We'll get
Singsie the chat captain in charge of that. So get over by those shirts. Thanks to our sponsors.
Draft Kings Prime Monday night hockey body armor flash IV. And remember, you can always find audio
and Apple Spotify and Amazon subscribe, like and comment on the YouTube next week. 12 noon live
murals. And I want to thank you murals. I was in a van down by the river. Then I had to move to a room.
I got ambushed by my kids. G great job getting Jackson Smith Penn State defender star player.
The Columbus Blue Jackets first round pick on the show today. He was electric. He was awesome.
I found out he got a sneaky tattoo away from his parents, which was a kind of a hilarious moment.
But thanks to you guys for holding down the fort with the Cray Austin craziness. I got to watch
Cruz play a second game now. Yeah, good luck to Cruz and those guys. And yeah,
puck presence murals. I'll be in Albany, my EBR shirt. We will be there. We will see everybody
this weekend. Have a great time. Arm dog chat. Love you. Get a national championship.
Under under no goals. No goals. It's time to check the game notes. I think we're going to have the show
of the year here. We're almost having magical moments here.
Show minds. He's time. Army show. Start us off. What an opportunity.
Another idea by me. Everything's gross idea.
