Francisco Lindor's Quick Hamate Recovery

Francisco Lindor is back for the New York Metz after a tough start to spring training. The 32-year-old, five-time all-star, had surgery on February 11th to fix a stress fracture in his left Hamate bone. Doctors thought it might keep him out until after opening day, but he's already leading off in playing shortstop. Earlier this week, Lindor wrapped up his rehab by playing three minor league games. He's starting against the Toronto Blue Jays on March 15th in Port St. Lucie, Florida. That's 11 days before the Metz opened the season at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Manager Carlos Mendoza says, Lindor checked all the boxes and racked up good days in recovery. He's ready to play for the big club now. Lindor struck out in his first ad-bat during the debut. Meanwhile, two other players had similar Hamate surgeries around the same time.
