Francisco Lindor Returns to Mets Lineup

The All-Star shortstop got his first great-fruit league star on Sunday against the Blue Jays at Clover Park in Porsaint-Lucy. This completes the team's starting position players for spring training. Lindor had surgery on his left Hamat bone and just started facing live pitching in the last few days. He worked through a careful progression to build up his swing and defense. Manager Carlos Mendoza said Lindor looked sharp in cages and on the field, so it was time to get him into games. No firm return day was set after surgery, but his steady improvement made it happen now. The plan for Sunday was four innings and two at bats for Lindor. He took Monday off and planned to play again Tuesday. Spring games run through next weekend before the March 26th opener against the Pirates at City Field. He's the second starting position player to debut this week.
