Forty Niners Hire Eberflus, Defense Fans Scratch Heads

The San Francisco 49ers are shaking up their coaching staff this offseason, especially on defense. They've hired Matt Iberfluse as their new assistant head coach of defense. Iberfluse comes from the Dallas Cowboys where he was defensive coordinator and before that he was head coach for the Chicago Bears. Robert Salah, the former defensive coordinator, left to become head coach with the Tennessee Titans. Gus Bradley, who held this assistant role last year, followed Salah to Tennessee. Rahim Morris is stepping in as the new defensive coordinator for the 49ers. Many fans and analysts see this higher as a head scratcher. Under Iberfluse last season, the Cowboys had the league's worst defense. They ranked 30 second out of 32 teams and points allowed at 5-11, 30th in total yards at 6,400, 9th and 30th in turnovers with just 12th. The Cowboys gave up massive numbers, including 4,276 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns
