Former MP Crispin Blunt Faces Drug Charges

0:00On March 18th, former MP Crispin Blunt faces four drug charges at the prosecutor's file the case against the 65-year-old Ex-Justice Minister. He represented Reagan's Surrey from 1997 until 2024, and is accused of possessing one class A drug, along with three, class B drugs. The charges stemmed from police searches of his home in Horley's Surrey back in 2023. Those searches were part of a different investigation, but they turned up enough evidence for the Crown Prosecution Service to move forward. Blunt served as a parliamentary undersecretary in the Ministry of Justice from 2010 to 2012, handling prisons and probation. He started as a conservative, but became an independent in October 2023. Prosecutors say they're solid evidence, and it's in the public interest to take this to court. The alleged class A drug is methyl-infetamine, while the class B ones include GBL, Cannabis, and Infetamine. Blunt will appear at Westminster Magistrate's Court on March 25th.
