It's April 7th. Welcome to Candidate News Today, powered by AI. I'm Corey with the story. Former boxer Alex Hilton has passed away at the age of 61. His brother Jimmy broke the news on Facebook Tuesday, saying he died peacefully in his sleep. Hilton burst onto the scene early, grabbing the vacant Canadian middleweight title at just 18. That happened back in December 1983 when he beat Ralph Hollett. Jimmy's post captured the family's heartbreak, calling Alex a man of great kindness and sincerity. He said Alex was the best son, brother and friend, and they'll miss him deeply. Hilton lost that title a little over a year later in January 1985. He couldn't set up a defense in time, and he faced some legal troubles through the 1980s. His story shows the ups and downs of a fighter's life. Gone too soon, but remembered for his heart.
