Foligno Joins Wild, Aiming for Cup

Nick Filino is heading to the Minnesota Wild after a trade from the Chicago Black Hawks on Friday. The Black Hawks pick up future considerations in return. This move lands the veteran forward on a central division contender chasing the Stanley Cup. The Wild sit third in the tough central division this season. They have not advanced past the first playoff round since the 2014-2015 campaign. Now they are pushing hard to break through with this addition. Filino posted three goals and 11 points with Chicago this year. He served as their captain since September 2024. Joining Minnesota means he gets the team up with his brother Marcus, both as forwards, though linemates remain unclear. A wild cut win would make the Filinos the third set of brothers to claim titles in 2026. That follows the Hughes brothers and the Ticket-Chut brothers taking Olympic gold last month. No siblings have won the Cup together since the Neter Mayors in 2007.
